This place was awesome from front to back..they went out of their way to make sure they dotted all their "i"..and crossed all their "t"..thorough back round check seems a bit much but i get it..they have to do this or they end up with animals in bad homes and/or brought back..we love our Tillie to pieces..she is quite the queen around here..especially with daddy..spoiled rotten!..thank you team for all that you do and for my awesome pup..

We have two pups from PLR. They're not related and we adopted them three months apart. The PLR team took the time to get to know us and their dogs, to help make a good match. When we reached out a few months after bringing Piper home to say she seemed like she'd like another pup around, they made a great match for us with another pup they had in foster care. Piper and Timber have been joined at the hip since they met, and we are delighted to have them in our family. The PLR team does amazing work for dogs and families. Their commitment is unparalleled.

I wasn't planning on writing a review, but Joe's review is prettyyy shocking to me. We have two pups from Pawfect Life. Our first pup, Cory, we adopted when we were renting a small home, no fenced in yard. Most rescues would have refused us as we did not own our own home and did not have a fence. We spoke with Julie multiple times, gave references and explained our desire to have a high-energy pup as my husband and I both enjoy hiking and running. Julie looked at our lifestyle and us and decided to introduce us to Cory. It was a great experience and he is an absolute perfect dog for our lifestyle. About a year later we decided to get a second dog. Julie had a couple in mind and we brought Cory in for a meet and greet. He got along fabulously with Tango (as Julie predicted) and we brought her home and never looked back. I have directed countless friends and family members to Pawfect Life and they have all had fantastic experiences. Julie is an amazing person who truly cares about the wellbeing of every one of these dogs. I'd never go anywhere else.

    I'm super cute

We adopted the sweetest little puppy from Alabama through Pawfect Life Rescue. They truly care about their puppies and the potential adopters. All puppies meet their families before they can go home with them and they really make sure it's a good fit. The love afforded to these pups is evident and they truly made sure our Kali was a perfect fit for our family.

It was heartbreaking hearing some of their stories, but so blessed to see they're happy and can live out their lives in peace. The tour guides were wonderful! Very informative and we were able to tour the farm and see many animals. There are cows, pigs, goats, chickens, geese, llamas, and more! The goats are so cute, and you're able to pet them freely. I highly recommend this place for any vegan looking for some animal loving or families looking for a fun and educated afternoon. Remember, this is a place that has saved many animals from being killed, not a petting zoo! It's wonderful!

When I told friends how we were going to visit a farm sanctuary, one of the first questions was…read moreusually, "What is a farm sanctuary?" A farm sanctuary is a kind of refuge for animals. Many of the animals are rescued from factory farms, from slaughter, abuse, or from abandonment. One of the things that distinguish Maple Farm Sanctuary is that it's the only sanctuary that was formerly a working farm. Jim and Cheri Vandersluis had a dramatic change of heart and a move of conscious that made it impossible for them to raise animals for slaughter. Their story is told in the documentary Peaceable Kingdom: The Journey Home. We visited Maple Farm Sanctuary on Father's Day and honestly I wasn't sure how my kids might respond. They're incredibly unpredictable. Would they enjoy the Farm Sanctuary? Would they be disturbed? Would they be frightened? Would they be bored? Would they complain? One of the things that make a farm sanctuary interesting and a sometimes troubling is that most of the animals have a story. Many of the stories are tragic and sad. These are stories of how the animals were often mistreated and treated inhumanely and how they eventually found a home here. It should also be said that while our guides at the Maple Farm Sanctuary were more than willing to share the stories of these animals in detail if asked, they were also sensitive to the presence of our small children. One sheep Tara Ann was rescued from three women who were beating her with sticks. Apparently these women didn't see anything wrong with beating an animal they were going to eat anyway. A Holstein cow Cassie, was raised in almost complete darkness for much of her early life. Her owners were just waiting for the day when they could bring her to slaughter. In Cassie's case, she did something remarkable, which rarely happens. She escaped the slaughterhouse by jumping a six foot high fence. One of the sad things about Cassie is that because of her experience, she suffered a great emotional trauma. As a result, she doesn't like open spaces and doesn't like spending time with other cows. Our guides shared about Cassie's story and about her slow recovery. We enjoyed feeding Cassie some carrots. Although, the stories of the animals were often troubling, it was somehow reassuring to know that they at least found a home here, where they can play, live and grow old. From my own perspective, the animals at the Maple Farm Sanctuary seemed genuinely happy. They were free to walk about and socialize and express normal animal behavior. The nature of life is that sometimes we don't experience a happy endings, but for these animals they found something of that happy ending. The animals that were most beloved by my own children were the goats and the llamas. The goats were incredibly friendly and affectionate. Although, you had to watch them, because otherwise they might nibble on your clothes. Overall the entire family had a great time at the Maple Farm Sanctuary. In fact, our youngest who is never shy about complaining, offered her highest praise when she said that she wanted to come back again.
