I have a tiny Yorkie who is SUPER squirmy. Needless to say, it's nearly impossible to find a groomer that can make her look half decent. I heard about this place from a friends mom who specifically told me to ask for Monica. They were very friendly when I made an appointment as well as when I went in. They obviously love and care about animals very much, especially Monica who immediately started trying to get my yorkie to warm up to her. I really wasn't expecting much. I've been to so many groomers in the past year trying to find a good one. But this place blew it out of the water. They groomed her in 2 hours (whereas it usually takes 4 everywhere else I've been) and she looked great. They really did a perfect yorkie cut, tipped ears and all. I will say this place is a little bit high in price, but for the work they did I will definitely be back.

Ms. Tiffany after being groomed. More than 1/2 inches were cut.

On August 9, 2021, I received Jana Hayes', owner of Pawlished Pets Salon & Spa, response to my Better Busoness Bureau complaint. She accused me of slandering her business. I received a degree in journalism from the University of Kentucky, worked more than fifteen years at UK as the director of student and multicultural affairs in the School of Journalism, and currently write for several different publications. I am knowledgeable of the meaning of slander. The legal definition is "the act of harming a person's reputation by telling one or more people something that is untrue and damaging about that person," (www.investopedia.com). Albeit, the reviews I posted online were not favorable, they are unequivocally true. I publicly shared although I requested the groomer, Micah, to only cut 1/2 inch from Ms. Tiffany's hair, he shaved it leaving her grossly nicked and exposing the pinkness of her skin on her underbelly, legs, and anus. What I stated is true, and therefore, cannot be labeled slander. Jana also said in her response she had informed me per the service agreement I signed that any issues should directly be addressed to the groomers who are independent contractors. In that particular section titled, "Payment and Refunds," it does say contact the groomer. Micah and I had an exchange of text messages where I expressed my dissatisfaction. Although Jana instructed me to contact the groomer, it is she who is refusing to issue a refund. She said it is a lost cause because I posted negative comments on social media. Again, I posted the truth about how my puppy and I were traumatized by Ms. Tiffany's grooming experience. I am perplexed by Jana telling me I need to share my dissatisfaction with the groomer via the agreement titled "Payment and Refunds," but she (instead of the groomer) is the one deciding I do not warrant a refund because I wrote reviews that exposed the truth. Jana claims in her response she and Micah have been nothing but nice to me. Does she consider it nice sending me a text that says, "Good luck on finding a groomer that gets it right the first time"? Did she think it was nice to respond to my reviews "We can't put the hair back on Ms. Tiffany...but I'm sure she's rocking her new haircut"? I believe my definition of nice differs sharply than Jana's. Jana also stated in her response to my complaint, it appears I made false accusations stating Ms. Tiffany had been nicked and had remnants of the blueberry facial to stain her face. I posted pictures of Ms. Tiffany before and after she was grossly nicked and traumatized by Micah at Pawlished Pets. The pictures clearly show how badly she was nicked and the blueberry stains on her face, which are still there today. How is that a false accusation? Pawlished Pets' response to my BBB complaint is chocked with other untruths. Jana is attempting to change the narrative and gaslight me. I have documentation and will continue to advocate for Ms. Tiffany and our rights.

I came in and everything is so clean and cute! I like how most everything is out in the open. I recommend Monica. She groomed Charlie and really made him feel comfortable and cared for him just like I would! I know it may sound simple and a no-brainer but I haven't had this experience at any other groomer. She asked if he could have treats if he would take them from her, said he'd give him water and let him warm up a little and get comfortable before she got started and even said she'd let him go potty if he seemed like he needed to! She said that the dryer scared him so she didn't push him and let him air dry! Charlie made a new friend today that I trust 100% to put him in her care. This is the first time in a long time where I felt like he was actually being cared for and not just cut up. I felt like a grooming was FINALLY worth my money. Thank you Monica!!
