"Is this real gold? Are these real pearls?" I also brought in some of my jewelry. Chris was super helpful. He helped identify costume jewelry vs real gold, synthetic stones, etc. I was able to decide what I wanted to keep based on sentimental and monetary value. Chris used his expertise to: clean jewelry, restring an old set of pearls, repair a small chain, replace a broken clasp, put batteries in my watches, etc. I was so impressed with Chris, I asked if he could redesign my wedding band, which had inset diamonds, très masculine. Chris sent me digital mockups of designs, so I could see exactly what my ring would be. The result is a stunner. I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. We also worked with Chris on a ring for a family member's special day. It took several visits to find just the right stone and setting, and now the ring will be a one of a kind that will last generations. Chris, his brother Jeff, Connie, and Tom--all of whom helped me during a visit or worked on my jewelry--have all worked at Walters for decades. The family business has been around for 94-95 years. They know their stuff. I like knowing that I'm patronizing a business that's investing in quality products and people rather than quantity advertising.
