However, I encountered significant difficulties regarding the specific needs of my 17-year-old Ragdoll. Because of his age and coat type (based on years of grooming him myself), he requires a specific approach and certain products to avoid matting. Despite previously agreeing to use my specific shampoo and conditioner to prevent the severe tangling we experienced during our last session, Maria insisted on using her own conditioner during this second appointment, stating she "knew best." It felt as though my insights into my own pet's needs were dismissed, despite the fact that I had already handled his ears and nails to make her job easier. The most disappointing part of the experience was the billing. Because I stood my ground on using the products my senior cat requires, the service did not proceed. Despite the fact that I was home and ready for the appointment, Maria charged me her full "no-show/late cancellation" fee. Being penalized with a cancellation fee when I was present and simply asking for a previously agreed-upon care plan felt very unfair. Maria is undoubtedly a skilled groomer for standard clips, but I would suggest she be more open to owner requests for special-needs pets. I'll be looking for a groomer who is more comfortable following a client's customized care plan for their pet's comfort and safety. read more

After she left to start her own business we continued to take Bella to that groomer but we were never happy with the service and there was always something wrong with out little ones haircut. I had Maria wash and groom my two babies, and now I will never go back to a grooming salon. I have a very timid dog(Lilly), who doesn't respond well when in unfamiliar places. I had to carry to carry her into the kennel and I felt like a horrible dog mommy for leaving her. My little was groomed by Maria and now she greets her with wet kisses and a wagging tail. My second fur-child is Lexi, who is also not a big fan of kennels. In fact, she suffers from anxiety and starts chewing herself if left unattended for too long. We found Paws and Claws Mobile Grooming after visiting 2 other groomers and thought Maria would be a good fit for our Yorkie puppy. He had become very comfortable with her and so were we. However, after 5 monthly visits Maria decided she no longer wanted to service our pet. We live downtown but would drive to her Spring Valley location because her Grooming truck was inoperable and needing repairs. We showed up for our appointment to find the grooming truck gone. Confused we called and texted Maria with no response. As we're driving home we received a text saying our appointments for the next 3 months had been canceled and that she was no longer a good fit for our family. No explanation was given except the right to refuse service. How devastating!! We are now in the process of finding a new groomer for our fur baby which is stressful for us all. We had our 2 dogs scheduled with Maria for a complete groom and she was awesome with dogs! My dogs loved her and I could tell because the first dog that she groomed was wagging his tail and even went up to her seemingly trying to say thank you and bye when she was about to leave. He was never anxious and panting like he usually is when we would bring him to Petco or come to pick him up after the groom. The second dog was really difficult to work with, although I can tell that he liked her too but he couldn't control his anxiety. She did her best to try to groom him. She was very patient and nice with the dog but in the end decided not to continue on with the grooming because the dog was just too anxious and she was afraid the dog would get injured from the scissors and razor for moving too much. She didn't even charge us anything for that dog. My first dog looks so cute now, she gave him a free bandana and he loves Maria so we're keeping her. Thank you, Maria! read more
