First & last time here. I walked in to see a little Chihuahua had a muzzle on, the owner was trimming his paws and she accidentally cut him. The dog of course, moved its paw back and the lady which is the owner of the grooming shop had her hand up in the air like she was about to strike him until she heard me gasp, she put her hand down right away when she saw me. I will never take my pets there and I hope nobody else does! as what I've seen, she was cruel to the pet. If you love your baby, you will NOT take them here. My sister scheduled an appointment here, because her usual groomer wasn't available, and he came back with clipper burn! This picture is two days after the groomers and still looking very irritated. His testicles, penis, and paws were all super red when we got him back and the groomer said NOTHING. They also trimmed his nails without asking and one of his nails came back bleeding because they cut too short. This shop should be shut down, the groomers with it. read more

This was my first time here and I'm not sure what to say but that I am certainly frightened for my dog. She is an extremely happy dog and loves going to the groomers. But as soon as I went to drop her off, I got a very strange vibe from the place. The people working here were very odd, I've never encountered such cold customer service. Whatever, I thought, maybe they're dog people and not human people. As long as they do a good job and treat my dog with care. She is a senior dog but very sweet and well mannered. Here's where things get tricky: I went to pick her up- 4 hours later even though they quoted 3 hours. Okay that's fine. But from the moment they handed her to me, she was acting super odd, as if she was sedated. Her tail was tucked between her legs and her eyes looked frightened, almost like she couldn't keep them open. She was walking very slow and even though she gets extremely excited to see me when I usually pick her up from other places, she had no energy and seemed lethargic. I can't say for certain that they sedated her, I can't prove it, but I know my dog and this is not her personality. She is very old and I only trust a veterinarian that went to medical school to administer anything to my dog. I never consented to this and never would have. All I know is that if she's not better by tomorrow, then I will take her to her vet to be checked out, and if something is wrong, there will be consequences. As for now, she's been home for an hour and all she wants to do is sleep and is acting confused, like she didn't know where she's at. Please, be aware! I would recommend to look for a different location to get your dog groomed. I made the mistake of coming here, and I honestly don't know if they're even certified..you have been warned! My small Chorkie obtained full services and a full two hours were dedicated with care for my doggie. Haircut, nails, teeth, glands and ears were only $45. My doggie loved the groomer as she was at her best behavior, most likely due to the loving care and attention she received from groomer Emilio. I absolutely loved the haircut, even her tail was shaped adorably. I also was pleased to have my doggie squeezed in for a next day appointment. DO NOT GO TO THIS GROOMER! I usually have great things to say about businesses I have used, and am not one to complain, this will be my first BAD review. The only reason I gave one star is because you have to give at least one to write a review. This place deserves no stars. I brought my beautiful, fluffy, Pomeranian in to be groomed, I specifically told the owner, I DO NOT want my dog shaved. I still want him look like a pomeranian. We agreed that she would just trim the hair shorter, leave the fluff around the face and tail. I must have said at least 3 times , do not shave my dog. Well, when I returned to pick him up, I didn't even recognize my dog! He was shaven as close to the skin as possible, whiskers were cut off, and there was a knick on his neck. I was extremely disappointed,frustrated, and close to tears, but paid, and took my dog and left. When I got home and was a little calmer, I called the owner to let her know that I was very upset, and that she did not do as I asked. I also said I wanted a refund, when she told me that she would not give me a refund, I told her that I would be giving her a review and she said to me, "Go ahead, I'm shaking, you are crazy, go find a man to f@#! Ugh I don't even know where to begin, the lady was nice on the phone when I called. She said to drop my dog off at 9, so I got there, but no one was there yet. I had to wait for her to unload all 4 of her dogs into the store. Which I didn't know there would be other dogs just roaming around the place. My dog is a rescue and isn't comfortable around other dogs. So strike one for me. I walk up to the window and ask her if she could please put her dogs away, and she said it was fine they would just put mine in a cage.... I told her I didn't feed my dog yet because she throws up in the car so I brought her food if she could feed it. (I figured if she had all 4 of her dogs there she obviously wasn't too concerned about cross contamination...) When I picked her up they just handed me the food back and said they didn't need it.... Next I ask if they could trim my dogs hair. Mind you, I've never owned a dog in my adult life, so I don't know how this grooming thing works. This was the first time I had ever taken my dog to the groomers. That being said, the lady told me they don't trim, they only shave. And if they shaved it would be as short as her arm hair. Honestly I wasn't sure what to think of that... my dog really needed a hair cut, so I agreed to it. So I paid the $45 or whatever and left my sweet pup there. They called me 4 hours later that my dog was ready.... she didn't even smell like she was shampooed. They shaved her down to her skin!!! They shaved the ears, the WHISKERS! They even shaved her tail! My dog looked like a rat!!! She had welts all over her neck, and they nicked her skin too many times to count and was bleeding. It was the saddest thing ever! My poor dog was so traumatized!!! Honestly I would never take her back there even if someone paid me a Million dollars. Don't take your animal there if you don't want it to be tortured. Handled your dog with care ! We have 4 different dogs and Milly handles them with so much care. One of my dogs that my wife and I adopted had bad anxiety and lacks confidence. He can't be away from my wife or I without having a panic attack and milly did so well with him. He allowed her to bathe him which he hasn't allowed anyone to do except my wife and I. He got brushed by her. Overall satisfied with this location and I love the atmosphere and have they're always generally kind, careful and constructive. Would definitely recommend! My wife has had our miniature poddle's ears dyed pink and her tail as well. All 3 of my boys love her and never put up a fuss or fight when heading over there. read more

This review is for the NATIONAL CITY location. I've taken my shih tzu/terrier mix to many different groomers around San Diego. I think I'm ready to commit to Milly's long term. My dog has long and thick straight hair, floppy ears, and a bushy straight tail. It's ALWAYS a struggle explaining to groomers that I want his ears and tails shaved down to the shortest length. 11 out of 10 times he is left with shaved body, but fluffy tail and ears. Not a fan of the look, especially not a fan of the maintenance of this cut. His body is also often left very uneven. Milly's (again National City location) groomer followed my request to a tee. Tail short. Ears short. Teddy bear head. AND his entire cut was smooth throughout. No uneven or missed spots. Looked so professional. Big plus, the shop was really nice and clean. Not overcrowded with pups. The cut took a reasonable amount of time and the pricing is competitive, particularly for the quality of the cut. read more

"no dogs are difficult for us" I hate giving bad reviews but I just wanted to point out the false advertising. 4 hrs later, I come to my dog with a red eye, rash on its belly, and shaved body (I requested for a trim). They said that the rash is caused from when my dog was stitched from getting spaded.. However, I don't recall seeing any rashes before the groomers. Stitches take about 14 days to fully heal and it had been 2 months. The groomer had told me that my dog was very difficult and my dog bit her twice. They said I should have told them it was her first haircut. I understand that my dog was difficult to trim. But I think it is more professional for them to call me before going forward with grooming and causing a red eye, rash, and bad haircut. If it is that difficult, they should inform the owner first. After all, it does say "no dog is difficult for us". Also, the lady said it would be $45. But when I came back to pick up my dog, she raised it to $50. Not sure how their grooming process is, but my dog was depressed the next 2-3 days. Overall, I just feel like the groomer was finding excuses for the red eye and rash. read more

This is one of the WORST grooming place. DO NOT bring your dogs here. They have the worst customer service. Staff does know how to communicate with their customers. The lady with the very short hair has a temper and an attitude. Just the first approach, she sound like she's ready to bite your head off. No special requests can be made such as how your dogs can be groomed and cleaned. We've been to this place multiple times and the gentleman that used to help us out is no longer there. I've been going to Milly's Dog Grooming for years. When I first started she only had one table and a few spots for the dogs. These days her business has expanded to include more tables and she has quite the group of groomers. I read a few reviews on Google and some of them say she is gruff and lacks customer service. I'm going to straight up disagree there. This is a minority-woman owned business that she has built from the ground up and if she has set boundaries in place to deal with the occasional unruly customer, I believe she is perfectly in the right. As for my experience with her and her staff, yes she can be very matter-of-fact, which could possibly be misinterpreted as gruff, but she has always shown a great care and concern for my pets. I have always been told what to expect in pricing before I leave the shop and if there were any concerns or services they thought needed to be added, they always call me first to ask for approval, although this has maybe happened twice in over 5 years (honestly it could be longer, I can't remember at this point). Not only has she shown care for my pets, but over the years I have seen a multitude of different groomers. Some have definitely looked like the type of person that most regular employers would not hire, but the quality of service never waivers. Quick, efficient, not overly-priced. Her employees are quality people, which tells me she is a great judge of character and does not let appearances get in the way of what someone has to offer. This tells me the owner not only cares for everyone's pets, but her community as well. It is unbelievable how my father-in-law and his dog were mistreated. Whatever the lady's name is in the video (since she refused to tell him her name) refused to return his dog back all because she decided to change the price because she felt like it. Like what kind of business do you run here!! Police had to be called in order for her to give us back his dog. Video was recorded, and the way they had his dog unattended on top of the table without any care pisses me off. His dog is already blind with a bad back (due to his old age) and he could have fallen and had some serious injuries. For all my dog lovers, I DO NOT RECOMMEND this location. I've been going to Milly's Dog Grooming- the national city location (L ave, national city) for the past year and I've always been so incredibly impressed with my dog's grooming services!! My dog always comes out looking so cute, clean and happy! Ask for Octavio! I swear, He is truly a dog grooming miracle worker! My dog is a medium sized outdoors dog and Octavio's work keeps my baby clean and groomed for 1-2 months! The prices vary on the size of the dog, and it is very very reasonable. I pay $35 (for a haircut, bath, de shedding, nails trimming, ear cleaning and eye cleaning) but I almost always tip 10+ cause he really does care about his work and all his doggy clients. I've done grooming services at Petco and petsmart and honestly they can never get my dog as clean and nice as this company. Also as a nice free treat, Octavio puts cute little bows on my dog every time he finishes and it's always the best surprise when I come pick her up!! (2-3 hours). DO NOT come here. My dog has blood on his ears and now it has scabbed, his private parts were red and he didnt even want to sit down. He came back from groomers and was hiding from us under the bed or in closet and he was never like that! He also bit my dad and brother when they would try to touch him. He never bit us. He was very traumatized, he came back shaking his head a lot from his ears and would cry if we touched his ears. He barely ate for a few days! And would just lay down all day when before he would always be playing around with my other dogs. My dog is just so different now and i miss the way he used to be before i took him here! Please don't being your dogs here! He came back licking his paws a lot, like if he had rash. His whiskers were also cut off. The place says "no dogs are hard for us" or something like that. My dog may move a lot, but he didn't have to get cut the way he did! His ears and private parts were cut! The ears were bleeding and now he has clump of dried up blood and i am scared to remove it because he tried to bite me when i touch his ear!
