OK, everyone is going to need to kindly excuse my use of CAPS during this review. Unfortunately, Lauren and Pawsitive Pals deserve that level of emphasis, and I insist on expressing myself in the way that they deserve. I was already in love with Lauren and her operation. I was already going to leave a positive review. That said, she really brought it home for us today.... Our very sweet and friendly puppy was attacked at a dog park yesterday morning. Lauren and the PPDT crew are familiar with our little guy because we bring him there for training and also socialization. After learning that our dog was attacked, Lauren called both my partner and me to see if our dog was ok. She messaged us on Facebook to try to reach us as well. When she got in touch, she offered assistance and advice. Lauren has an AMAZING heart and a clear care for animals. It's real and unmistakeable. I cannot recommend her enough. Having someone to look out for you and that has your back, and your animal's back, is priceless. I'm really blown away, not only at her abilities in her profession, but as a leader in this community. I see you, Lauren!!! If you are thinking about joining the pack--DO IT. She's the best alpha.

I am SO happy we found Lauren and her team when we did. I was in search of a doggy day care coupled with an advanced professional dog trainer as I have extremely high standards/criteria for who I leave my dog with! Lauren has been amazing in educating me to help myself and my dog become more successful in our relationship with each other and my dogs relationship with other people as well as other dogs. I live in Lincoln and am glad to drive to grass valley weekly for my dog knowing he is in such great hands. I can't ever imagine taking him any place else! He gets great exposure to dogs and he is as tired as a Labrador can be after a long day there. Lauren is extremely knowledgeable and has helped me overcome many obstacles with my dog! Thank you sooo much Lauren and team for taking such great care of our Ragnar!

Lauren and her team are incredible. Responsible, knowledgeable, patient, and attentive- this is the ONLY place in the area where I will bring my dogs. Lauren takes such care to ensure all the dogs are safe and getting what they need. If you have a problem-child pupper, this is the place to go. Highly recommend.

I'm not sure where to start!!!! My best friend and I got 2 beautiful Great Pyrenees pups and when we thought they were old enough we enrolled in PPT's positive reinforcement training. This is where you reward the good behavior and pay no mind to the rotten behavior (unless necessary). The bond and respect gained by handler and Dog is absolutely amazing!!! Lauren was always willing to help and a soapy and all questions! We had a HORRIBLE situation and she didn't hesitate to help. Our Otis is absolutely amazing and the tools given to us help him know exactly what we need from him. She is and always will be our go to for help. THANK YOU SO MUCH PPT FOR ALL THAT YOU DO! We appreciate you so very much!!!

Woohoo, as good as it gets. Lauren and the team at PAWS'tive Pals are the absolute best around. Last summer we got ourselves a puppy, a 4 month old GSD. We named her Josie, Jo for short. Cute as could be, and pretty responsive to our home training. Well, as the next few months passed, she got a bit more comfortable in her new digs, hormones were doing their thing, and Jo was pushing the boundaries quickly around here. We tried (failed) a few things over time. So we started looking for a trainer (or training facility). So we contacted Lauren to discuss options in late 2020. This was a tough time for everyone, as Covid was going strong, businesses were struggling with shutdowns and/or understanding and implementing safe procedures and protocols. Lauren worked with us to get Jo several initial training sessions, one on one. We also started with Peaceful Integration around this time. We immediately recognized Lauren's love for what she does and her talent as well. Jo started attending the Pal Pack on a regular basis. There she gets to run with "the pack", burning energy and getting some socialization. Sometimes Jo went for a half day, sometimes a full day. She would come home absolutely exhausted. Really good for her. As covid restrictions eased, signed up for Lauren's next Basic Obedience series. Jo worked hard, Lauren gave us great instruction and lots of positive feedback. On the last day of training, everyone goes downtown GV for the "final". Jo passed, yea!!! We really can't say enough about PAWS'itive Pals, Lauren is a fantastic trainer, really in tune with her students, dogs and their people. Thank you Lauren and crew at PAWS'tive Pals, we highly recommend you!

My dog Zeke and his new friend
    Corlie P.

We took our 1.5 year old GSD Zeke to Lauren's group and she really educated us on how to be more positive and efficient with our dog. Zeke was hurt badly and abandoned for most his life before we got him and he needed a lot of assistance to get through his fear, anxiety and aggression. He still has a long ways to go, but we atleast feel like we have a direction with Lauren's help! They also took him in for board and training for a few days and really dedicated time to help him over the course of 3 days! Day one he did not socialize at all and was growling at staff. By day 3, he was playing with other dogs and humans. He looked happy!!! We are so thankful for these miracle workers and we will continue to use their service!

    Lotus

We adopted Lotus and shortly there after the world shut down. With Covid restrictions we missed puppy training and socialization. Lotus was impossible to leash walk. Until we met Lauren with Paws'itive Pals! She suggested the " gentle lead" which was a game changer. We now have a dog who leash walks, obeys commands, and humans can enjoy the walk too!! Prior to going on a long RV trip, we enrolled her in the day care program. She went several half days to play with the Pal Pack. I can't praise the program enough!!! It's just what we needed!!

THE BEST. Lauren and her team at PPDT helped us raise our male hound since he was a puppy. hounds are notoriously tricky with their strong scent association, prey/food drive, and loyal behavior. We trusted her every step of the way, inclusive of unlimited drop-offs for trainings and socialization with other dogs, commands, and even trying to train him with a fence-less perimeter. I trusted her when she said his testicles needed to be removed due to aggression, and it was the best advice we accepted. (highly recommend Sirius Canine fertility treatment center for egg/sperm storage). he is now 2.5 and an absolute dream dog, loyal loving and very active with the family. thank you to Lauren and then entire PPDT team for your ongoing support

If you're looking for a dog trainer with experience and integrity this is your place! If you're looking for a great place for your dog to go be a dog while also learning how to be part of a pack, this is your place. We have trusted Lauren from the minute we met her, to teach us and our husky mix, Luna, how to be social and responsible with other dogs which makes all of our time with our dog more enjoyable. I highly recommend Pawsitive Pals for boarding, training and days when you want your pup to just hang out with the pack

The first thing said to me when I asked how he did was: "He's a DICK." I was honestly shocked. Apparently, he did not like the high-powered dryer or having his feet handled during grooming. While I completely understand that some dogs can be difficult to groom -- especially large dogs unfamiliar with professional grooming environments -- the way this was communicated was extremely unprofessional. A professional groomer could have easily said he was "difficult to groom," "anxious during drying," "didn't tolerate the dryer well," or "struggled with foot handling." Any of those would have communicated the issue appropriately without immediately insulting my dog the moment I reunited with him after 6 days away. What made it more confusing was that I had originally asked how Jacks did during boarding overall, and only after I questioned the comment did the groomer add, "But he's so sweet otherwise." So clearly this was situational grooming behavior, not an aggressive or dangerous dog. I've washed him at PetSmart before without issue, so while I understand every environment is different, the bedside manner here really left a bad impression. I left feeling uncomfortable and honestly, still kind of stunned by the interaction. The groomer also recommended I continue booking grooming appointments so he could "get used to it," but after that interaction, that's going to be a hard no from me. The initial boarding staff when I dropped him off was kind, and Jacks otherwise seemed happy and well cared for during his stay, but customer communication matters -- especially in animal care.

We decided to get some professional help and interviewed several trainers in the area. Susanna quickly rose to the top based on her attitude, personality and credentials. We started with a few private lessons then transitioned to her group classes. Susanna's classes are well planned, safe, and appropriate for all types of dog personalities. Duncan quickly progressed through her AKC Good Citizen basic and advanced classes and loves to demonstrate his new skills. Duncan enjoys his weekly day at their "Dog Day Camp" and comes home very happy and tired! He also has enjoyed his stays when he has been boarded with The Canine Coach and again comes home a happy camper. Recently Duncan went through a background check, observation and testing regimen with the national Alliance of Therapy Dogs (ATD) and is now a credentialed Therapy Dog. He will soon be visiting medical facilities, schools, first responder facilities and the court house. This honor is due largely to Duncan's ongoing relationship with The Canine Coach. While there are a number of canine services in the area, you won't do better than The Canine Coach.

My dog (Goliath) and I needed some serious training so I did not get dragged. Bill worked with us for 6 weeks (1 x per week) and he was truly amazing. He was firm and compassionate. Goliath had the utmost respect for Bill and did what he asked. Every week we met, Goliath became more of a pleasure than a puppy pain-in-the-a@##! I've had dogs forever and have worked with several trainers. By far, Bill is the most knowledgeable and effective trainer I've ever known. I am now confident in taking Goliath anywhere and having him remain obedient. I can take him on walks without using the claw collar - something I thought I'd never be able to do. Bill makes himself available after training ends in case further help in needed. I would strongly recommend Bill - he is worth every penny.

Instead of leaving us to figure it out on our own, Bill continued to offer guidance, answer questions, and provide additional support until we were back on track again. His commitment to our success went far beyond the initial training. As a result of the confidence and skills we gained through working with Bill, my daughter decided to enter her dog in a 4-H Dog Show. We were thrilled when she placed in the competition! It was a wonderful experience and a testament to the progress both our dog and our family have made. We are extremely grateful for Bill's continued encouragement and dedication. Knowing that he is there to help when challenges arise has made all the difference. We highly recommend Bill and Sierra K9 to anyone looking for not only excellent training, but also exceptional ongoing support.
