Pawsitively Pom Rescue is above and beyond a 5-star organization and the negative reviews left here are not only without factual merit, but a disservice to the whole animal rescue community looking out for the well-being of the dogs they so generously take in. This rescue is run by the most amazing, passionate crew. Their dedication to helping poms in their most dire times of need is outstanding. They always step up and give 100% to provide these dogs with a chance at a better life (even when that chance is slim - they NEVER give up). I adopted a senior pom a few years ago from Pawsitively Pom Rescue and they were properly cautious in their vetting/screening of potential adopters, but also upfront about what I was getting myself into taking on a senior loaded with health issues. I truly appreciate the vet check (including bloodwork, x-rays, and meds), spay and dental that they provided before I adopted little Paris. I had a nothing short of a "pawsitive" experience throughout the adoption process and of course, the pom that I adopted was a total sweetheart. As a side note, in my opinion/experience, smaller dogs tend to have big medical bills and it seems that when pet owners' poms become ill, they turn them over to a rescue. Because of this, I get the sense that most of the poms that this rescue takes in need some sort of medical treatment to get them back to healthy and it seems that lately their Facebook page has been asking for donations for various surgeries to provide a better quality of life for their dogs. My mother had recently lost a Pom that was part of our family for 13 years,so she was looking to adopt & rescue a poor Pom in need of a good & loving home.So woman comes out to inspect home brings 3 Pom's with her,great,beautiful little Poms.While she us here all smiles,meets my dog interaction with the 3 Poms she brings out is excellent.We believe meeting goes well,woman did not seem appauled or act as if something was wrong with house.Come to find out next day she was denied for adoption..Why,might you ask??..Well we live on the water & couple small holes along fence..easily fixed before adoption could be completed..because we live on water Ducks walk our yard,come to find out,so she is told,Duck Poo can kill dogs...HUH??..Been here 30 years,my mother has had 2 Poms since moving year,both lived to old age & there is a Yorkie living here now...They apparently are defying the odds surviving Duck Poo...DON'T EVER TAKE YOUR DOGS OUTSIDE FOR DUCK & BIRD POO CAN KILL YOUR DOGS,SINCE BIRDS ARE EVERYWHERE,IT IS A DANGER TO LET THEM OUTSIDE!!!...Well if thats not enough bologna,my mother forgot to out on application that my 14 yr old son is with her about 48 hrs a week,so that made her a liar on her application,WOW!!REALLY!!!.....Now that long part is over,let me sum it up..The Foster Home wants to keep the Pom & was just going through the motions she has to..So this was all set up for failure from the beginning....Amazing that this poor Pom will not be in a loving forever home for NO GOOD REASON.....This is sickening that all these poor animals need good homes & they are being kept from them for selfish reasons....FIND ANOTHER PLACE TO ADOPT A POM OR ANY OTHER ANIMAL..ONE THAT "ACTUALLY" IS LOOKING TO PLACE THEM IN A GOOD & LOVING HOME...A joke of a rescue.... read more

PPR is an amazing rescue! They have taken in so many dogs in need over the years from serious medical cases, seniors, and even hoarding situations, knowing the cost to medically treat would be extensive they always step up to the challenge. This rescue is comprised of loving and caring animal lovers that put the interest of the dog first. Their adoption screening process is thorough and detailed so that they place a dog in the best home possible. The adoption process is not a first come first serve process and I respect that, because that shows they truly care about the future of the dog available for adoption. Some of the dogs available for adoption have come from poor and abusive situations; therefore, the application process is even more restrictive to ensure the best, caring, and experienced home with patient adopters to ensure the dog has a smooth and loving transition. I have personally met the founder of PPR and some of the amazing fosters- all are great people that provide round the clock care for the animals in the rescue. PPR is a fantastic rescue to work with. They take their time in properly vetting potential homes for the poms they rescue to ensure they're being placed in the safest environment. Every pom has their own personality, flaws, special needs and that is all taken into consideration. We adopted our 1st pom 2 days after Christmas back in 2015 (he was an abused/neglect case). Our 2nd adoption came with our Kassidy! We saw her at petapalooza and she was an abused mill breeder with special needs. Not many paid her any attention, but we knew she was it. After a few surgical procedures, she came home and all has been fantastic. Just last year we adopted Peanut, another mill dog (had questionable aggression issues). Since his adoption, he has been wonderful. Just proves the way they handle the pups, their different needs and places they allow them to be adopted to, truly mean alot to them. They truly rescue these pups and give them what all animals need, hope, love and a 2nd chance at a happy life! read more

Pawsitively Pom is simply a step above all other rescues. They give and give of themselves, putting the needs of precious poms above theirs. They treat the seemingly untreatable, they mend the hearts of the broken, and they carefully and kindly bring the abandoned and neglected out of their shells. Our adoption process was fantastic. Since, we continue to follow the rescue, donating to their good works, and doing house visits in our state if needed. I highly recommend here virtually and to all of my dog searching friends. Pawsitively Pom Rescue is an amazing organization with the most caring people I have ever met. They go to great lengths to make sure their dogs will be placed in a perfect home "forever". I have adopted 3 from them and would highly recommend anyone sincerely looking to adopt check them out. I had to be "vetted" out via questionnaire, a home visit, submitting references, etc. which I had no problem with - was glad they cared enough about their pups to do that. I am forever grateful to them for all their amazing rescues. My last was one of 27 in a hoarding situation. The other two - 1 was in a crate 24/7 and is still a bit timid, the other found wandering around and ending up in a shelter where she was rescued from. We adopted our two pomeranians from Pawsitively Pom Rescue. They not only saved our little ones from a municipal shelter, they had them thoroughly checked and brought up to date with all necessary vet care. They provided a safe, secure and loving home when they needed it most. They are very careful in checking out prospective adoptive parents because they want these precious dogs to go to great forever homes and never suffer again. I appreciate and respect that. We have adopted 3 dogs from PPR; 2 Poms and a Pom/Spitz mix. I applaud Amanda, Diana, and the rest of the group for their thorough process in how they approve for adoption. I recently became a foster pommy mommy for this wonderful rescue. Impressed that the foster/adoption is comprehensive enough to ensure these rescues will go to healthy, stable, loving homes. Their goal is to place the dog with a forever home as often times these dogs have experienced instability, abuse, & neglect. Applicants should not take it personally if they are denied. Pawsitively Pomeranian Rescue is a fantastic rescue! They are very caring, loving and take the time to make sure all the babies they rescue are well taken care of and go to good homes. I adopted my Lacey from them 2 1/2 years ago, she just turned 9 and I'm over the moon in love! Then a year ago I adopted my 2nd one from them, Willow, who is a 4 year old living doll! PPR is absolutely amazing! These ladies pour their hearts and souls into rescuing, caring for and appropriately placing as many dogs as they can help. we adopted two poms from PPR. They have worked with me extensively to help ensure that my little Baxter adjusts to his new family and that we adjust to help him. My family fostered two brothers from PPR that were a bonded pair. They helped me through the entire process with getting then vetted, fixed and all taken care of through the entire process. We fell in love with our two boys and became foster fails. PPR are a wonderful group to work with and they put the Poms before anything else. I have also transported dogs for them. Some of those poor babies were in bad shape and they helped heal them and take very good care of them.
