I took my dog, Sienna, here and they had the best service and they treated her like a princess as soon as we stepped in the door.

From a Longtime Customer -- Very Disappointed in How This Was Handled…read more We began using Couture Pet Grooming in December 2023 after my mother's elderly Black Labrador mix, Thunder, came to live with us in Southern California. For approximately 30 months, we were very satisfied with the grooming services Thunder received. Until this incident, I would have gladly given Couture five stars and recommended them to others. Unfortunately, our experience involving a future boarding reservation completely changed my opinion. We arranged for Couture to board Thunder for an upcoming family vacation. We were quoted $455 for seven nights plus one day of daycare, with a 50% deposit required to hold the reservation. On June 25, 2026--approximately 120 days before the scheduled boarding--I paid $255 by Zelle, which was actually more than the requested 50% deposit. Tragically, Thunder's health deteriorated significantly. At approximately 15 years old, he could no longer stand or move normally and was experiencing several age-related health problems. After consultation with family and Animal Control, we made the extremely difficult and humane decision to have Thunder put to sleep on August 3, 2026. The following day, approximately 83 days before the scheduled boarding, we notified Couture of Thunder's death, cancelled the reservation, and requested the return of our $255 deposit. We were told: "The deposit is non refundable. We keep deposit to hold dates and it is non refundable." This was extremely disappointing. In the boarding correspondence we received before paying the deposit, we were told that a 50% deposit was required to hold the dates, but we were not told that the deposit was nonrefundable. Had that condition been clearly disclosed to me beforehand, I would not have paid $255 approximately four months in advance. I subsequently requested a receipt and invoice regarding the transaction and was told one would be provided. As of the date of this review, I have not received it. This is especially difficult because we were not cancelling for convenience or because our vacation plans changed. Thunder died. We cancelled approximately 83 days before his scheduled stay. I recognize and appreciate the satisfactory grooming services Couture provided Thunder over the years. Unfortunately, the way this final matter was handled after the death of a longtime customer's pet has overshadowed those positive experiences. Our family lost a beloved companion. Under these circumstances, and based on how our $255 deposit was handled, I can no longer recommend Couture Pet Grooming.

We have been using PetSmart, Dawsonville every six weeks for about 18 months…read more Our dog is an 80 pound Labradoodle with tightly curled hair. Nicole, our groomer has been absolutelywonderful! We asked for our Doodle to be cut in a very precise way, and she has cut it exactly as asked each time. Nicole has been wonderful in the way she grooms him, but also very gentle and compassionate. Fairly recently, our dog began having occasional seizures. In spite of being medicated, he has them on rare occasions. Recently, he had one at PetSmart as grooming was begnning. We were still in the store when it began. Both Nicole and Michelle took the most wonderful care of our dog! We were alerted, and came to his side within a few seconds, but were so very grateful for the love and compasion with which they treated him during his seizure. Previously, our dog was groomed at a boutique salon that specializes in Doodles in Milton. Each time he was groomed, there was an issue. This prompted our change. I have to say that I was reluctant to use a "chain store" at first. Now, we will go no where else! We have referred several other Doodle owners to Nicole or to this PetSmart grooming salon. In every case the owners were very pleased and like us, became repeat customers. If you read my reviews, you'll see that I call them as I see them. I cannot adequately express my appreciation for PetSmart's Dawsonvile Grooming Salon! They get my highest recommendation!

My mom and stepdad stopped by this PetSmart while they were out picking up a prescription for me,…read moreas I'm currently recovering from surgery. Since my dog has been cooped up with me, they decided to bring him in for a little mental stimulation while they were out. My stepdad noticed a few training cones set up with an open bag of treats nearby. Because an employee had already offered my dog treats when they entered the store, he genuinely thought the cones and treats were part of a store activity. He took a single treat and guided my dog through the cones once or twice. Before he really had a chance to process what was happening, an employee began loudly scolding him in front of other customers. My parents were caught completely off guard. They immediately apologized and explained that they had no idea the treats weren't meant for customers and had assumed they were part of the display. According to them, the employee dismissed their explanation and insisted they "knew better" and had done it anyway. There wasn't much of a conversation because they were so shocked by how aggressively they were being spoken to. Had they been given the chance, they would have happily replaced the treats or paid for the entire bag. This was clearly an honest misunderstanding, not someone intentionally taking something that wasn't theirs. Frankly, the employee should be embarrassed by how this was handled. A professional who works around unfamiliar dogs every day should know better than to escalate a situation by yelling at a customer. Besides being disrespectful, it's an unnecessary risk. You never know how an unfamiliar dog will respond when it perceives its owner is being aggressively confronted. Thankfully nothing happened, but it highlights just how inappropriate the reaction was. What made the situation even more telling was that another customer approached my parents afterward to apologize for how they had been treated. They said the employee's reaction was completely unnecessary and even mentioned they wouldn't be returning to the store after witnessing it. Mistakes happen, and this one could have been resolved with a calm, respectful explanation. Instead, what should have been a simple misunderstanding turned into an embarrassing public confrontation. That's not the kind of customer service anyone expects when visiting a pet store.
