I'm not sure why PawSpa has so many questionable reviews, so allow me to give you the inside scoop as a Kennel Tech that was hired only a month ago. (warning: long and detailed)! - The expectations the staff holds for eachother is high, and it is all to ensure that your pet(s) are safe. After the first couple days of working I was sat down and was told about the concerns they had. I took the constructive criticism and not only ran with it, but I took it to heart. Everyone here has the same priority: the care and well-being of the dogs (and cats!). I appreciated the fact that the manager and kennel supervisor made sure I was doing the job the way it was supposed to be done, in order for the dogs to stay safe. - Our dogs are let out ATLEAST four times a day and they are given cold fresh water (with new bowls!) every single morning; water bowls are always kept full. Every single comment/specification/concern an owner has towards any single pet is written on the pet's "Kennel Card" that is placed in the front of the run. For example, if you only feed PM, we will too! If you separate your dogs for feeding time, so will we! We also take care of any medication your dog has, and accommodate any special needs. Any dog that decides to use the bathroom in their run is *immediately* put into a clean one, with water, until their original run is rinsed, foamed, scrubbed, rinsed, squeegeed and towel dried (in that order). They are then placed back inside with clean blankets while their personal items are washed! And yes, no matter how many dogs do this or how many times, we repeat the same process. Cleaning a run in this way is also done after *every* single dog comes and goes. If your dog was in this run for a week, it will be cleaned (even if it was cleaned 3 times already) after you pick him/her up so that the next dog to use the run is safe from any possible illnesses. All of the dogs and cats that come through our doors, are required to show proof of CURRENT and UP-TO-DATE vaccinations in order to keep your babies safe. - As for attitude, we treat everyone with kindness and smiles, and that includes your pets too! Up front is our reception area, where you can find "the littles" (if there are any) behind the counter; these are the small dogs that are either in daycare or boarding. Because of their size, they are only ever socialized with bigger dogs IF they are being under 100% supervision- so no little ones get overwhelmed or hurt. The two areas you see to the right of our computer are daycare play areas- both have outside access. On one of the reviews someone mentioned lack of supervision, but quite honestly we are always watching and listening. Even the slightest sound of unfriendly communication between the dogs is immediately attended to. If a dog relieves itself inside, someone will walk in there with the group [of dogs] to pick up and mop! Daycare dogs are also fence huggers when someone (such as myself) makes a pit-stop to give them some extra loving! ;) In short, every dog or cat that is with us is treated like they are our own. Honestly it would be super common to walk in and hear someone baby-talking your pooch! We want the four-legged family members to be happy, and you as well. Was pleasantly surprised and they did a great job for the most part. One of my dogs ears is shorter than the other. Smelled amazing when i picked him up. They were reasonably priced and their were many dogs for daycare or boarding. Groomer can out and spoke to me before grooming. They were done when they said and I'm thinking about using them for boarding. Large facility and fenced yard. read more

Thank you so so much PawSpa for taking such great care of my dogs! Lucy, my hound mix, was abused before we adopted her so she can be a little difficult when it comes time to get groomed especially her nails (we've had to have 3-4 people hold her down before). We have been bringing our golden here for over a year. We have never had any complaints until we picked him up from a 7 night stay today. They let my husband know he had diarrhea on June 4th and then gave him a bath right after...but after picking him up and realizing his butt and legs and backside were covered in poop and he smelled AWFUL, we were outraged. Not to mention my dog had hot spots all over he legs and under his stomach which tells me he was outside in the heat for way too long. We will never subject our dog here ever again. read more

My in-laws drove up with their Corgi from VA and, since our cats wouldn't make room for her here, she stayed for a week at PawSpa. They require verification of vaccinations for all pets so you know yours is safe! The facilities were so clean and she seemed to have a great time. They offered plenty of open space for Maggie to get exercise and also play with the other boarders. She was able to get a bath before being picked up (a great thing after a week of outdoor play and co-dog mingling). The only downside is that the facility is very hard to find driving north on 400 at night! I would recommend a bigger sign on 400! read more

We've been taking our goldendoodle, Roxanne, to PawSpa for several years. We use them for everything from daycare to boarding to grooming services, and they're great at all three! Their rates are reasonable (we recently boarded her for four nights and it cost $120), and they take fantastic care of the animals put in their charge. They take their responsibility seriously, and it's obvious that Lisa, and everyone else who works there, loves "their" animals. As an added bonus" When Roxanne goes to play with her friends a couple times a week she always comes home completely exhausted. read more

We've taken our puppy here many times for daycare, grooming and boarding and she loves it! She's so tired whenever pick her up from all the playing and socializing! We love that! I'd highly recommend them to anyone! Very clean, very loud from all the pups, friendly staff too! I usually just write a note about my pup when I board her to tell them a little bit about her and her usual routine and they are very receptive to this! read more

Sharron I was there look at me under Ruben Dario Ponce. Your manager asked me for veterinarian evaluation and diagnosis and I did as told. I showed up with the requested proof and no compensation was received. Why did you ask for a vet evaluation and pretend to fix the problem. read more

We love taking our dog there for grooming - they are always sure to ask us if we want anything different and have never had any issues. Way more affordable than Petsmart and we trust them a lot more. We haven't done any boarding yet but plan to do so soon. read more

Love Paw Spa! I've been taking our poodles there for about 5 years now. Our oldest is a little grouchy fellow who does not like a bath or groom, but they do a great job with him and with the younger poodle too. I appreciate that they call me as soon as they are ready to be picked up. read more

I took my dog, Sienna, here and they had the best service and they treated her like a princess as soon as we stepped in the door.

I stopped by to see the facility on a Friday afternoon and inquire about boarding. I waited up front for 10+ minutes despite knocking on Employee Door repeatedly as note described. When someone finally came out she didn't even greet me but went to the customer they recognized who arrived long after me. When they brought her 2 large 60+ pound dogs up front they were off leash and immediately went after my 8 lb dog in an aggressive manner. The male employee just stood there and watched while 2 other employees jumped in. One scolded him and he said "well, they didn't have collars or leashes, I thought it was ok". No one checked on my dog, the groomer who came to help apologized but needless to say I left. Very young, unprofessional staff who clearly do not know how to safely a run a facility of this nature. read more

We take our Goldendoodle Cam for grooming and boarding. We've been using PawSpa for over a year now and they've always done an amazing job. They've never turned Cam away for a last minute booking reservation even at the busiest times of the year. Cam is always excited to come and play and he comes home bathed and tired. read more

We take all 5 of our dogs here to have their nails trimmed. We also take one of our dogs here to be groomed as well. They are always very friendly and can always fit us in on a moments notice. read more

This place is bad, they dont take good care of the dogs, the owner is rude, I left my dog there and he came back with a skin allergy, will never go back It also seems they dont feed the dogs right, my dog stayed there twice and came back starving! Be careful with this place read more

The groomer at Paw Spa did a terrific job on my dog Charlie. They promptly got me in when and were very polite. Hee was ready (and happy!) when they said he would be. Priced reasonably. I will definitely return. read more

Receptionist was extremely rude and hateful on the phone. Talked over me and I couldn't even get a word out. Very short with me. They also do not keep records of any dogs' vaccines - that's what she told me. I would hope they would require dogs to be up to date on vaccines before coming there.... read more

Whatever you do don't prepay. I went in Saturday to pickup my pet the lady stated we had no prepay on file and I told her she was mistaken I did have then she replied that I would need to bring back paperwork to prove it. I didn't care for that terminology but today I did bring in the credit card statement and the girl that actually told me on the previous visit that I only had one day left sold me the prepaid additional 75.00 plan but even though I had one day left that I was using up that day she went ahead and took a day off my prepaid days as well. The owner and manager cut every corner for cost that you could think of. They have no customer service skills and treat employees incredibly poorly. They have a high turnover rate. Do not get a bath here or nails trimmed, as the shampoo is sometimes just hand soap and if the manager decides to trim your dog's nails she'll just hit the quick. Don't bother bringing bedding because if the kennel is too packed they'll just pile all the beds in the bathroom so they won't have to worry about keeping up with them and washing them, and if they do let your dog have their bed they may not wash it. I'd honestly only recommend it for daycare seeing as it's pretty hard for them to screw that up, although I couldn't say your dogs will be attended the entire time that they're playing with other dogs, or that the manager or owner actually know how to break up a dog fight at all. Long story short, get a petsitter or find a different daycare. read more
