We LOVE Dogwoods Kennel! We have been using them since we moved to our mountain house three years ago, and I can't think of anyone else I would trust with our babies. The staff is awesome! They always greet you with big smiles and as soon as our dogs see them, the tails start wagging! They take such great care of our sweet babies. I am so thankful that we found such a wonderful, clean, happy place for our dogs to stay while we are away. I highly recommend!!! ZERO stars. Terrible experience. Marena (owner) is extremely unprofessional - she stalked us by calling several times within a two hour period because she wanted to talk about our reservation, sent an accusatory email telling me my pet might be better somewhere else, violated my privacy by calling the vet directly to try to obtain private information, and basically accused me of lying about my pet's veterinary records. Then...after sending all her required forms and pet records, she ghosted me when trying to confirm my dog's stay. She left me scrambling to find alternative accommodations with very short notice. I would NEVER entrust my pet to someone so unstable. read more

We had a horrendous experience with this kennel. We were really careful and picky about the kennel we chose and this one looked good so we drove the extra distance and left our dog for a week. When we picked her up they said she hadn't eaten that day and had stomach issues. She came out sneezing really badly and had such bad diarrhea that she had to run to the edge of the parking lot immediately. Anyway, she had lost 6 pounds during her week's stay at Dogwoods, and kept getting sicker over the next day after picking her up. I'm not one to take dogs to emergency hospitals unless something is really really wrong, but she got so sick by the next night that she couldn't stand up, lift her head or even wag her tail, had a fever and was getting worse by the minute. I don't think she would have made it through the night without medical attention. We rushed her to the emergency center 40 miles away. She wound up having hookworms, a bacterial infection, dehydration and a respiratory infection. $550 later we now have her on antibiotics, wormer and home cooked chicken and rice meals. We tried several times to contact the kennel by phone message and email with no response. When a 50lb dog loses 6lbs in a week and comes out of a kennel with that many things wrong there's a serious problem and it's not with our dog...she's normally a super healthy, overly-energized 18 month old yellow lab with all vaccinations. I know they have good reviews, which is why we considered them in the first place; but they most definitely had to neglect our dog for her to get this sick. And then to ignore our phone calls and emails...it's just the kind of nightmare situation you're worried about when you leave your dog somewhere so think twice about this place read more

I called to see if they could board my dogs from Friday afternoon to Saturday. We had to go to funeral the manager said we had to pick up by 3:00 told her I would go somewhere else because I did not think I could get back from Atlanta by that time. They called me back and said I had till six When my husband and I dropped them off the manager told us by five and I questioned then said 5 was fine. Got done with funeral on our way back and received a call that Bella our Great Dane / Black lab mix was in distress and extremely aggressive she said we needed to get there because she had tried all day to calm her down??? I asked where Angus was and told her to put them together like they were supposed to be. No afraid BELLA would attack Angus crazy. Cried the entire way and asked for prayers We thought we would have to scoop up and take to 911 vet. Received a another call and I answers oh my God is BELLA ok did she die this woman laughed and said we were late. We arrived at 4:19 and she begin laying into us about being late. I asked to get BELLA immediately and she said no. I tried to explain the phone call from her manager and the agreement about later pickup. Her response was I am the owner and I didn't get her approval?? I told her about arrangements with HER MANAGER. Didn't card. I'm crying and I said I want my xxxx dogs. That was wrong and she went crazy screaming for me to get out and I couldn't have my pets ? I told her I would call police. My husband asked me to outside and I did He went in the back and got both dogs from cages outside. We have huge dogs so BELLA went to the bathroom in her small area. They took her blanket and over charged us by $29.00. When we got home I called and left message and told her I was sorry for that cuss word. She then went off on me again and said we should have paid $48 per dog because she has listed BOTH dogs as aggressive? I asked what did Angus do? She was belligerent and threatened with this aggressive dog labeling ? Anyone who knows me knows I'm a nice person and they basically lied to get more money bait and switch people. They are scammers. My husband said that the back of the kennel was bedlam and why take our dogs when they were full? The thought that my dogs would go on walks and be loved was false. We have boarded our lab here many times and are extremely pleased with the attention and the love they have shown her. We even like the way the space is set up to ensure less stress on the dogs. We love that she gets walked, treats, and a bath. The employees seem to go the extra mile and have been very accommodating, even when we were running late one evening to pick her up. read more

This place is great! They have spacious areas with half doors for the dogs. I was very nervous about leaving my 5 pound yorkie but she was fine. Very calm when I picked her up. The staff was friendly and cheerful. Also a well organized business. Both my daughters drive from Woodstock to board their very large dogs and are very pleased.
