PawSpa has been a Godsent. They are always available even if it's a last minute thing! The groomer Gabby is an artist, I have a 4 pound demon that if he doesn't want to be brushed or picked up will squirm until you do what aHE WANTS lol . But she sends him home looking so perfect every time. They always accommodate me if something comes up. I just had surgery and it was a load off my mind because I knew for a fact he was being taken care of, getting his medicine on time. That he wasn't in a crate and was with people who played with him and loved him. Awesome business and I wouldn't go anywhere else My dog gets so excited when he knows that we're pulling into the driveway and then as soon as we walk through those doors I don't exist anymore lol. We have been taking our dog to Mya for grooming for a long time and she does a great job with him. He is a mini schnauzer so it is hard finding someone who cuts him right. We love taking him here. We boarded him for the weekend and we are extremely happy with their work. In his bag that we supplied his food and treats, they gave a copy of everything they did for him and notes on everything we provided to keep it organized. We really appreciate that they take the time to take care of our dog. read more

I boarded my cat here as our normal kennel was booked and so was our backup kennel. staff was kind but we had some problems with miscommunication. There was no communication between staff, I sent over vaccine records and I was told they received them then a couple days later they would ask for them again, this went on at least 2-3 times. Additionally when I moved up her stay to drop off 1 day in advance 2 weeks prior to her stay I was told she was all set then when we called the day of drop off to confirm her stay, no one had changed her drop off date. They were able to take her however I didn't feel like they were very dependable or knowledgeable I can't speak on the care my cat received however the kibble bag I sent had hardly any food missing but I sent wet food aswell so I was not overly concerned everything was fine till I brought her home, her bottom was inflamed and she had dried poop stuck to her fur on her bum and paws, and litter all dried and stuck in her toes (I know it's their litter because I use clay pellets not clumping litter). I had to bathe her because it was impossible to remove and let's just say she like most cats despises water. My cat is 11 years old and I have never had to clean poop off her except maybe once as a kitten , she has short white fur and cleans Herself well. I understand she may have had an accident but upon pickup when I asked if she got sick or had a hard time adjusting I was told she did great. We never had this issue before with other facilities and It makes me upset to think of how long she had her own poop stuck to her, (we were gone 7 days). I ignored The mixed reviews because I figured they may have changed and it would be fine since I was not using the grooming service but I was not that impressed, I am grateful my cat had a place to stay however I think they could benefit from a few changes. read more

Wow! I can't believe how wonderful these people and this place is! Our fluffy cat was suffering without air conditioning. We took him to PawSpa for a lion cut. The people were so friendly and helpful. The kitty is so soft and smooth! And he was MORE relaxed than normal! He even sat in the lobby on my leg - something he usually NEVER does unless in the car!!! We are so in love with the cut and will definitely be back, and definitely recommend!!! read more

My husky went in for a bath and came back with his tail cut. The groomer did not say anything about cutting the dog's tail until I called and complained to the owner said he can give me a refund for the bath and said his groomer would not use shears on a husky when he called the groomer the groomer confirmed that they use shears now he does not want to pay for the vet bill.because he said I did report it to them with in 24 hours . I call them the 48 hours when I saw my dog having a hard time seating and laying down. He gave me a refund for the bath but he wouldn't give me a refund for the vet bill he said he wasn't obligated cuz I didn't contact him after 24 hours even though his groomer caused the problem and didn't tell anybody. read more

Disappointed with puppy's first grooming appointment. I could barely tell she was groomed and she wasn't brushed out after her bath. She still had knots in her fur. We were waiting in line to pick her up and we heard a man yelling in the background at someone's pet numerous times. Seemed unprofessional read more

We boarded my grand puppy Milo for the first time last week. He was very well cared for and was happy and healthy and perfectly groomed when we picked him up. The staff was very friendly and very willing to answer questions and give updates. My daughter, Milo's mom, felt very comfortable dropping off her puppy as the staff was very welcoming and showed affection towards him and engaged his attention immediately. The Facebook page updates with pictures helped ease her anxiety also! We highly recommend this facility. read more

Took our dogs here for boarding and grooming 6/15-6/18. Today I begin to brush my Great Pyrenees and I find a giant matted clump at the base of his tail. I find what appears to be shampoo that was not thoroughly rinsed that has turned into a giant clump. I had to shave the fur away and I find raw skin. I called the establishment and the owner called me back and was not apologetic at all. He told me they don't use any green shampoo and that all we do is complain. He told me never to bring my dogs back again. I told him I was taking my dog to the vet tomorrow and would be contacting an attorney regarding the vet fees and he laughed at me and told me too bad. I have taken my dog here several times for a hair cut over the last year and a half. The last 2 times I decided to leave him for daycare because my job changed and it's not as easy to pick him up at anytime. The first time he came home super super energized-I just figured he was excited. The second time he had even more energy. Now he is a 2 year old puppy but I know when he has had a chance to play and when he hasn't. So I pay extra for him to stay for daycare and I'm 99% convinced he sits in a cage all day till I can pick him up. My husband and I have decided to look for a new place...I'm not in to wasting money. I'll pay more for a haircut and daycare because I'll actually get what I pay for. read more

We live in CT and travel to Pittsburgh to visit family a couple times a year. We normally use the Best Friends chain of boarding facilities when we travel but they do not have a location near our family. My husband found PawSpa online and it seemed like a decent option so we booked our dog to spend 1 day there. When we arrived we were shocked by the terrible smell overtaking the reception area. It was an extremely overpowering smell of pet urine - not just typical dog smells. We have used many different boarding facilities, vet offices, etc. and never been in a place that smelled nearly that badly. There was also an obscene amount of barking from what sounded like dozens of dogs. Again, never been in a boarding facility where there was anywhere near that much barking. If we didn't have family plans with already purchased tickets we would have walked out and not left him there. Last but certainly not least, our dog contracted KENNEL COUGH from his 1 day stay at PawSpa. He had not been near any other dogs or out of our house/car for over a month prior to his stay so we are confident that is where he caught it. We will not be returning. read more

All staff are very nice and friendly. My dog enjoyed her 3 night boarding and had a bath on the return day. They even gave me a note explaining how she played with others. We tried several different kennels before, but this place is our favorite. It is very clean and your dog gets an individual room, not a cage. they have a flat rate, not like addtional $5 for excise and another $2 for washing fee if your dog pee on a blanket, so on. This is the second time we got out dog groomed there and this time the groomer asked us what we wanted done and she shaved our dog down anyway. His fur is all uneven and he looks like something from the walking dead. My suggestion is take your dog somewhere else for grooming. However on the overnight stay they are fine they have always been good to him, but grooming is not there speciality. read more

I took my dog to this groomer 3x. The first time everything was great and he got a cute haircut for a good price. However, we dropped him off the second time and he became very anxious and stressed (of course not their fault). We left and were gone for 5 minutes when they called us and told us to come get him because he was too anxious/upset for them to groom him. We brought him back the following week to try again. We put him in daycare with them during the day and scheduled a haircut later so he would have time to calm down. They ended up shaving half of his body (we specifically asked that he not be shaved) and said they couldn't do anymore due to his anxiety. His body was shaved but his legs, under area, tail, face, and paws were not touched. The next groomer that we took him to noted his anxiety but did not have any problems completing his haircut and fixing his botched one from before. Our first experience there was good, so maybe they are good for dogs that are calm at the groomer, but if your dog is anxious I would consider somewhere else read more

So I bought my two dogs here and instead of giving them a short haircut- they shaved them to the skin. They didn't even clean up the paws and other parts so that they looked nice. And then they shaved off the whiskers on the dog so that he is off kilter completely. Horrible experience with inexperienced young girls who don't take to take the time to make the dog look nice. read more

We decided to use PawSpa for their boarding service for our 18 Months Old FurKid (lab/boxer mix) mostly due to a recommendation from a friend but also a way to support a locally owned small business as opposed to a franchised one. I was told to bring him for a 2 hour day care trial period to see if he gets along with other dogs and also to have his bordotella vaccination taken. I bring him in for the trial on 9/28 - 2 very helpful staffs helped get him checked-in as well as assured that his bordotella vaccination (a requirement for day care and boarding) will be given by the time I pick him up. 2 hours later when I came to pick him up - a different staff (an older lady) helped me check out but had no clue why my dog was there nor was she aware about the vaccination. She seemed clueless and was going back and forth on the computer and the paper folder without saying a word. Only after I asked, I was told that I can go and that the vaccination will be given when I bring him to board. We've had our dog for 17 months now and have taken him to numerous dog park (almost 3 times a week), creek, grooming places, stores, vet - you name it, he has gone and done it all. But Less than a week after the trial day care, he is now diagnosed with kennel cough. This could merely be a co-incident but after all the back and forth phone calls from PawSpa reminding me to send the Vet Report and the need (strict requirement) for the Bordotella Vaccination - it's kind of ironic that they didn't even do that prior to checking him - the only thing that was supposed to prevent him from having or spreading kennel cough. I called them to cancel my booking and also to let them know what happened which they apologized for it. But it's hard to trust a business like this again especially when dealing with your pet's life. As much as I wanted to love and support this place, I would not recommend this place simply due to my personal experience. read more

I've boarded my dog twice now with The Paw Spa for 3 nights each and have had no issues. She's only 8 months old and is always excited to be there. The staff is always very nice and accommodating. Their prices are also very reasonable. And she always comes home smelling great after getting a bath and relaxed after playing with her new fur friends. read more

He then laughed at her when she stated she would be contacting an attorney regarding vet fees. He told my wife that we were not welcome to bring our dogs back again and that all we do is complain. To note we took our dogs here before and had them groomed and when they came home they were filthy and smelled of urine, we gave them a second chance because they apologized and made it right before. This isn't the way you run a business and now the owner has accused my wife of attempting to extort money from a small business. Perhaps a simple apology might have went a long way read more

One year ago we rescued a dog from Beaver County animal rescue. He was rather shy and withdrawn, understandably, for quite some time. My husband and I had already scheduled a vacation and were very nervous as to how the dog would handle. My husband took a day off work and scoured a wide variety of boarding establishments. We found a true treasure at Paw Spa. Our dog loves it there so much that we now take him at least 1-2 days per week so he can see his friends. He gets so excited when he knows he is going and starts crying at the bottom of the hill before we even turn onto 51. We love that we can receive pictures and videos of what the 'kids' are up to. Thank you for taking such good care of Cooper. We'll be celebrating his birthday/anniversary with us this week at doggie school! read more

I just picked up my cat from his Thanksgiving holiday at PawSpa Resort. I had never left him at a boarding facility before, and he seems to have had a good experience! He came home very relaxed, clean, healthy, and calm. The employees made sure to return the blanket and toys I had sent with him, along with the extra cans of food I had sent with him (this tells me they were feeding him exactly the right amount of food!). The total cost was actually lower than I was expecting, which is nice! Overall, I am really pleased - and more than that, my cat is happy! :) read more

Hands down the worst haircut my dog has EVER received! I was very clear about what i wanted and made sure my dog was completely brushed out before we went. The groomer didn't even know what a 3 blade was (how do you groom dogs professionally and not know that?). She also didn't seem to be listening when I was telling her what I wanted. When I picked my dog up his ears were still wet and very uneven and she cut his beard off even though I specifically asked her to hardly take anything off of his face! I will never ever go back. Terrible experience. A 5 year old could have done better. read more
