I got a pedicure and manicure done and thought it was excellent value for the buck.

They provide free tea and coffee. They did not skip the massage part for the mani and pedi. It's a wonderful pampering spa experience every time! I can't stop looking at my nails when it's done. They exceed my expectations. I highly recommend this place.

I happened to be going to Guildford Mall and decided to get my nails done beforehand. Yelp reviewers were right about this place -- clean, nice job, friendly staff, and prices were very comparable to other nail salons! The owner, Lana, was there and was super friendly. I had to wait about 10 minutes (as I did not have an appointment), but I didn't mind as I was not in a rush and it gave me time to look for my nail polish colour. She also offered me some tea or water while waiting, which I declined since I wasn't thirsty at the time. The girl who did my manicure, Noewa, did an excellent job and didn't rush at all. During my manicure, Lana came back to ask if I wanted tea or water this time, and I happily took a cup of tea, which was so nice! Just before my nails were done, I overheard Lana ask Noewa (in a motherly way) if she had taken a break and to get something to eat. If you ask me, that's a nice boss to have, making sure her staff gets the proper treatment! I'm not sure if these 2 ladies were related, but it was still a nice thing for Lana to do. To top it off, they have a stamp/loyalty card, which gives you $5 off after your 5th and 10th visit. This is the only nail salon I've been to that has a stamp card on top of their usual discounts/deals during the week. I will definitely be coming back!!

After I hinted I had never been to a spa in my life and it would be neat to try it out, the fiancé…read moretook the hint and gave me a gift certificate to Sueno Spa at the Sheraton Vancouver Guildford Hotel. The experience started with my obsessive reading of the businesses' website (yes, I can be one of those people). There, I found all the information I needed: spa treatments, packages, brief descriptions, current prices, and contact information. I was able to email and ask a few questions back and forth before I easily booked my appointment I appreciated the fact that I received an email confirmation with directions on how to access the spa (please ask front desk for a key), and tips on finding parking. My appreciation increased when I received a reminder call 24 hours before my appointment, restating the important information. Personally, I thought it was very well kept and beautiful space and fit very well with what I was looking for: a solid first-time spa experience, without over the top in luxury or aesthetics. A couple of small rooms for massages/facials separated by thick black curtains, and (from what I could see) chairs in the back for manicures and pedicures. I felt well taken care of after I mentioned this was my first time ever at a spa. I had help in picking a type of facial that would work with my skin, and the lady let me know what she was doing every step of the way. She checked in on me periodically to see if I was comfortable; I did feel so comfortable that I actually drifted in and out of sleep...probably drooled in the process. I was the only one in the spa (whether it was by design or because there was only one esthetician on that day), but it almost felt like I had my own private spa. There are a few things that are worth a cautionary mention for anyone wishing to visit. You are warned ahead of time that you will have to pay if you choose to park at the hotel or nearby street parking. (I honestly think it would be nice if spa patrons were able to park at the hotel for free or even a discount, but that is just me). Secondly, the spa is located right next to the hotel gym and swimming pool, so I did hear the kids' yelling. Personally I didn't mind that at all, and I did appreciate the spa trying to combat the sounds from the pool by playing the soothing music at a higher volume. I was so relaxed by the end of my session that the hardest part was getting up and walking back to the car! Overall, I would say that Sueno Spa is a place that meets all your needs and delivers on great value if you are able to look past the parking and hearing all the activity that is going on at the pool next door. While I am still not the type to frequent the spa, I did walk away from a great first experience, and I would not say no if the fiancé wished to gift me another gift certificate to Sueno Spa for an upcoming birthday/anniversary/holiday.

First off, a wonderful, cozy ambience inside the Guildford Sheraton hotel. Front desk super friendly in giving out the elevator access card to get to the 2nd level by the pool... Not only do they offer great facials using Eminence products -- all natural, hence the plethora of stars here -- but Loretta is super friendly, knowledgeable, think she's been in the business for over 20 years. I prefer experience over new rookies touching my face lol. So here's the surprise benefit: you get to use the pool and hot tub right next door, with an exposed roof so you really get in all the fresh air! When she mentioned that, I know I'm going to be a regular from now on ;)

At first I used to go to Phil, I like him, he's quite good but there's certain techniques of his that I'm not a fan of, so I started going to Jason. Jason was good as well, but he only worked once a week on Friday's. I couldn't always go on A Friday so I decided to try someone new. I tried Dulcia and I never went to anyone else after that. Dulcia is hands down one of the best, she's so good at what she does and she's super friendly. The other day I called in and was informed that Dulcia no longer works at Iris, but desperate times call for desperate measures. I was really sore so I decided to go in anyways. I went to a lady named Elsa, she was very nice at the beginning and quite talkative. I told her where I was sore and expected her to focus on that area, she didn't really focus on the area as much as I had hoped. I did walk out of there feeling a tad bit better, but I think I could've been a lot better had she listened and focused solely on that area. I started getting sleepy towards the end of the massage. I looked at the clock and there about was 20 minutes left. Five minutes went by, and I started passing out, I closed my eyes and then immediately opened them because I realized that Elsa's hand was not moving anymore. I looked up at her face and realized that she was passed out. I guess giving me a massage is really relaxing ‍. Anyways I didn't say anything at that moment I purposely moved around, so that she would wake up, that happened three to four times in the last 15 minutes. When there was about three minutes left, she told me that she worked really hard and that normally they don't have to do that much work, so I should give her a good tip. She asked me to tip her good twice! I thought that was very unprofessional and rude. Tip is for good service, the last time I checked, falling asleep while giving someone a massage is not good service. I told the receptionist what happened, but only because she asked how my massage was. The receptionist totally put me on the spot in front of my masseuse, she said "you think she fell asleep," right in front of Elsa, talk about unprofessional. I don't think I will go back to this location and I would especially not recommend Elsa to anyone. I only gave this place three stars because of the price and because of Dulcia.
