Enjoyed my testing experience with Jay. He's very knowledgeable. The wine is great and we'll be back!

We wanted to do a Sunday wine tasting and chose this winery. We found the experience to be fun and relaxing. The owner, Dave, was the server. My husband had a great time talking to him about the vineyard, wine process, etc. We had planned to go to other wineries, but instead we spent two hours on the patio sipping wine and talking. The wines were very good. Only one other couple came while we were there. I think this should be on everyone's "go to" places. We are certainly going to return!

Great place to taste wine in the Newcastle area. Lovely selection! Adding to my list of favorites.

My lady and I attended a wine event a few weeks ago at Pescatore Estate Vineyard & Winery. It is located near Newcastle, CA. It is a 15-acre, family-owed operation that produces some pretty good wine. The event revolved around eating and drinking. We were served horderves, salad, homemade pizza and generous amounts of wine. Good views from the deck of the rolling vineyards. With respect to the wine, my favorites included the Barbera, Cabernet Franc and the Malbec. I purchased several bottles of the Cab Franc - full bodied, rich with a great nutty / berry finish.

We were not able to drive to the winery that rainy day. We will soon.BECKIE... AI says to keep writing. The host/owner was just returning from vacation and was open to providing some lunch and wine. Nice.

Visit to Pescatore Winery on 10/2/21.

Tasty wine & beautiful setting! We visited on 10/2/21 and sampled wine on the relaxing patio with a beautiful view. We met the winery owner. We purchased bottles of Nebbiolo and Barbera during this visit.

This place is awesome. So glad we discovered it. The owners are amazing. The prices are beyond reasonable. $5 for tasting. $5 for a glass. All bottles are $20. $10 charcuterie tray with house made olives! They have monthly dinners and cheese making classes. And the view....definitely worth the drive!

Gorgeous view from their patio. Perfect for wine tasting. I would have stayed all day but we came at the last 1 hour of them being open. Their wine is delicious I loved the Zinato and the petite Syrah. I would def come back for a glass on the patio.

Placer County is slowly becoming a bigger agritourism destination, which is surprising given the proximity of so many people in the South Placer area. Wineries like Pescatore Vineyard and Winery are a good example of the options available in the region. Their tiny winery is hidden along Ridge Road amongst the many mandarin orchards in the area. All of the wine is estate grown with a wide variety of varietals. The offerings are rather eclectic eschewing more of the Rhone and Spanish themes found in many Placer wineries. Pescatore wines are very approachable and a great value for those able to make the trek. The tasting room is surprisingly large with a great view of the valley. Accessing the winery is a bit difficult with limited signage and steep one-way roads, but if you are wandering around the mandarin orchards or just looking for something new, I recommend stopping by Pescatore for a tasting.

What a great find in the Placer County wineries. All estate grown grapes. I have to say that the wines are all good. Our favorites were the white barbera and petite sirah. We have been to all but four of the Placer wineries and this is one of our favorites. Great patio and indoor fireplace for colder days.

Small, family-owned winery. Dave, the owner, was our server. We were the only couple there for a tasting. No charge for tastings and all their wines are $15! Dave told us that they carry some of his wines at local grocers. Most notably, Raley's/Bel Air. We tried three different wineries and this was our favorite. We bought two of the Zinfandel and one of the Sauvignon Blanc. He didn't have the Malbec or the Barbera available but told us to come back soon. Highly recommend you make a stop here before you go to the more popular stops along the wine trail.

This tasting room is looking to provide high quality service that people would expect from more established wineries and they are doing it right. I've been here 4 times by the time of writing this review and the experiences have all been fantastic. All the staff really do invest in the guests. Very knowledgeable about the wine and dishes. They take the time to really break down the wine and food if you don't know your stuff like me. They check up on you frequently! I really enjoyed the Carmenere wine. It's not as dry and is easily palatable for people who don't usually prefer red wines. I'm not super knowledgable in wine, but the flavors were earthy and slightly dark fruity taste. Some nights they have live music or events to meet the owners. Can't wait to see how the vineyard turns out if this is just a sneak peak of what's to come!

Our wine host was friendly, super knowledgeable on the wine varieties as well as giving interesting wine descriptions. I thought the pours were generous and I didn't feel rushed. I liked that I was given time to investigate and enjoy which wines I wanted to purchase. I bought 4 bottles to enjoy at home. The Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, and Sierra red were my top three favorites. I docked a star since it's not really a vineyard and you have a view of Highway 80 but overall it's a great little escape and great way to spend the afternoon.

I hadn't ever considered wine with fruit pies, but it actually was quite good, and very tasty. The property is absolutely beautiful, tranquil and very relaxing. There are several areas to just sit, sip and take it all in. Why go all the way to Napa or Sonoma as this is just as good! Plus some of the varietals come from grapes in the Napa Carneros region; especially the delicious Chardonnay and the crisp, fruity and light Pinot Grigio. They are especially known for the rich, hearty Barbera which is a standout. The Owner gave an informative briefing on the establishment and everything was so well organized, friendly and most enjoyable. Many of us left with bottles, I had six, to have later at home. I highly recommend this winery and will return!

Went to a nearby winery we'd visited before, and had a perfectly nice time and tasting. Wanted to check out one more, and saw PaZa nearby. It's the epitome of husband and wife operation. A cute little gazebo and a number of tables and chairs on a beautiful hill overlooking a small vineyard. Don't expect a Napa castle and 'chic' gift shop. It's perfect for a few friends or chatting w the table next to you. The owner, Zane, was amazing and spent a good hour with us, talking about his wines, the vineyard, and the history of wineries in Placer. But what was unexpected was how good the wines are! Most of the time, at local wineries, you're 'meh'. Good wines, but nothing special. You'll grab a bottle and thats that. But here, I actually REALLY enjoyed each wine we tried. His fermenting process is 'old-school' using huge clay (amphorae) cisterns vs stainless steel, and a variety of other nuances that seemed to really make a difference. I literally ended up buying a bottle of everything we tried (much to the amusement of my wife). This is now my new favorite winery in the area.
