From the moment you arrive, owners Mitch and Julie go out of their way to make you feel completely at home--and that same warmth carries through the entire staff. Everyone is friendly, welcoming, and genuinely makes you feel like they're happy you're there. One thing that really sets Smokin' Barrel apart from other wineries in the area is the table service. You can sit back, relax, enjoy the beautiful atmosphere, and actually be taken care of instead of constantly getting up to order. It makes the whole experience feel so much more relaxing and personal. They also usually have food trucks and live entertainment, so there's always something fun going on. And of course, the wine is AMAZING! The Cab Franc is my absolute favorite, but you also cannot leave without trying one of their wine slushies--they are to die for! OMG I can't even believe the service. Ashley and Julie were amazing. Julie dropped everything and found us a table and Ashley was consist at with service and even drove the golf cart to the restrooms for us. Beyond grateful this winery and the freaking bubbly was to die for. HIGHLY recommend. read more

Such a cute little spot to stop with friends or family and grab a glass of wine. The wine selection is good and the overall ambience is really nice. Very casual and has some really cute chicken running around. Everyone who worked there was really nice and attentive. Everything is done very timely manner so it's great for a quick stop or you can sit back and relax. They have live music frequently. read more

This is a great little winery with friendly owners who remembered us and our dog. The wines are served out of a small trailer and there are multiple tables both covered and uncovered area. There is plenty of parking. They offer a good selection of wines and you can bring food to have with your wine. The restrooms are up by the house so you have to go up the hill to get to them. We also got to see a group of chickens who were friendly. Check it out for a relaxing afternoon. read more

This place is a gem! Loved the wine, the people and the facilities. We had a large group event and we contacted Smokin Barrel about three weeks prior and they were the most helpful and accommodating business we have ever dealt with. They asked what type of food we would like so they could hire a local business and we decided on wood fire pizza by "A Pizza My Life" which was also amazing. Absolutely loved this winery and will absolutely be returning! We enjoyed a tasting over the weekend, which lead to sharing a bottle of their delicious Barbera wine - which I highly recommend! The staff welcomed us with open arms, and we had the pleasure of chatting with the owner, Julie. The warm staff and beautiful ambiance had us staying until closing! Overall: underwhelming, bland service, but inexpensive. Unfortunately, the place FEELS cheap. I'm no fancy wine connoisseur, but I've been to my share of wine tastings in the Napa, Jackson, and placer areas, as well as wine tasted at amazing vineyards in Argentina and Chile. This is the first winery I've been to that the server had zero information to provide us on the wines. She just said the name, poured a TINY sample, and walked away. Such an awkward experience. There are so many wineries in the area, this one fell short. The plus: it's a beautiful property, and the drive there is also very pretty. read more

Heard it through the grape vine, lol, this winery was the hot, new and must stop. No disappointment there! I have never been to a winery where I enjoyed every varietal served. This is a family owned winery. You can tell they have put their heart and soul into this winery by the wonderful service and friendly atmosphere. I was so impressed I joined the wine club. If you are looking for great service, great prices and relaxing atmosphere look no further. The staff is friendly and extremely nice! The kids have an area to run and play outdoors without disturbing any other guest. You are able to bring your own food and they provide a nice space and tables to relax and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. When you purchase some bottles of wine they waive the tasting charge. I stumbled on this winery on a hot afternoon. I was drawn in with their sign for wine slush's. They were delicious and refreshing. The wine was cold and tasty as well. The staff is so friendly and inviting. My dogs love to explore the grounds and check out the pond. I went back two more times in the same month. Ashley provided the best hands on service, even during their events that drew in a big crowd. I never felt ignored. She was knowledgeable about the wine even if she didn't always know how to pronounce them. speaking of events....they've had amazing food trucks that offered a good variety of options. I'm vegetarian so I don't always have much to choose from so this was a nice surprise. They even offer farm fresh eggs for purchase! highly recommend this winery. The friendly staff and amazing wine selection are worth the drive. read more

So happy we found this place! We were planning on going for a hike, and when that didn't pan out, we saw this outdoor winery and decided to stop with the kids. Our side adventure turned out to be the best time we have ever had at a winery! I cannot say enough great things about this place, from the wine to the atmosphere to the service and people we loved it all! The owner was so nice and even let the kids feed the chickens! This was the highlight for them and they had so much fun playing. It was great to see a kid friendly place that did not mind letting the kids be kids. It was a great time for the whole family and we spent the rest of the day just talking about how much we truly enjoyed our time here! The wine slushees were also amazing and so was the wine! The prices were also super affordable. It was also nice that you can bring a picnic lunch and enjoy some great wine. We had such a great time here today with our toddler and dogs! The staff (especially the daughter of the owner) was so friendly and inviting! They have chickens and the staff was friendly enough to get some chicken feed and allow my daughter to feed them! The wine was delicious and they also have wine slushees! They don't have any food per say, but they have some snacks! We can't wait to come back!! Wine is $8 a glass which is good, too!! Also, all of the wines were great and we couldn't choose one that we liked more than the other. read more

My husband and I came here for the first time for the Sips and Suds Passport event. We have done a lot of wine tasting in our time, and I've also worked in a tasting room, so I'm pretty picky and critical. . I can honestly say that this has been one of the most enjoyable venues we've visited. The entire staff working this particular day was very welcoming and provided a very relaxing atmosphere. Ashley was our sever and fun to talk to. She greeted us when we first walked up and guided us to our table and restroom (very important!). There wasn't a wine on the flight that we didn't enjoy. Initially we were a little worried that we were pulling into someone's private home but we were so happy we took the chance! The wine is amazing (highly recommend the petit syrah) but the owners are even better. They take the time to answer any questions you have, have a great outdoor seating area with heaters, and were truly hospitable. Tastings and bottles are very reasonably priced which was the cherry on top to a fantastic experience. We will be back and sharing this winery with friends! read more
