I usually have a good experience at PB Nails but today I was unhappy with my experience paying. I had a question about my tab and I felt like it was mishandled. There was a miscommunication about one of the services I received. They had three employees get involved just to explain it to me. I felt like I was put on display. They were being really loud about it and making me uncomfortable. I ended up just paying so I wouldn't be embarrassed. The second issue was regarding Venmo. Recently they started accepting Venmo for payment but apparently they no longer are accepting Venmo. This wasn't communicated to me beforehand. The owner told me next time to check with him first. He was polite about it but after the other ordeal it just felt like a frustrating experience. UPDATE: The owner reached out to me afterwards to apologize for how it was handled. The color I chose was OPI Put it in Neutral (sheer nude) w/ #53 pearl chrome (total came out to $55). I had Jessica as my nail person, and she was wonderful. She took her time to file my nails into an almond shape and made sure the lengths and shapes were all similar. Will return! read more

As someone who gets their manicure done often and has visited many salons, this was the most painful manicure experience I ever had. I have another nail salon that I usually go to, but I had nail art that needed to be removed with a nail drill and my usual salon does not have that equipment. The good reviews of PB Nail on Yelp convinced me to give PB Nail a try. I was initially turned off by how dirty the shop was. One of the employees removed my previous manicure, but he was only wearing one glove while doing so. His other hand was covered with open wounds and dirt, which made me not feel great that he handled my nails. I noticed how there were nail shavings/dust everywhere, which made me question the sanitation of the equipment. I was surprised that the employee did not bother to brush off the dust from his own clothes, let alone the nail station. I was briefly relieved to find out someone else would handle my gel manicure. The employee was nice and friendly and wore gloves on both hands. She shaped my nails very quickly, in fact, too quickly. She did not properly cut off my cuticles and my nails were filed inconsistently. However, the worst was when I received the gel polish. I could tell something was wrong when my nails felt very hot under the UV lamps. I have never felt pain with my previous gel manicures, so I was very surprised. When I asked the technician why my nails were hurting, she said that was natural and it was the polish reacting to the UV light. When I finished my appointment, my nails continued to hurt and felt tender. The pain eventually disappeared the next day, but before then, the pain was rather very uncomfortable. After a few weeks, I received another manicure at my usual nail salon. When removing this gel manicure, the technician commented, "This is a very strange gel polish...did it hurt when you got it?" I was surprised that she knew just by removing the manicure. It just proves how poor and apparent the quality of the manicure was. Compared to other salons, PB Nail is affordable, but I don't think the low costs are worth their services. Getting my manicure is supposed to be a relaxing, happy experience, but I'm afraid PB Nail failed to provide such an experience. read more

I did UV gel extensions with design - Fiona took her time to make sure the shape was perfect and symmetrical (some other places made mine really thick and twisted) and the design is pretty detailed too. The lady who did my nails took her time to make sure I am totally satisfied with my nails, which I am! I really appreciated her checking along the way if I'm satisfied with how things look. My girl Ellen is a perfectionist and I love how she won't stop until she and I are both happy with the design. Even if there are people waiting for her, she will not rush my appointment. My ratings are from 1-10. 1 being the lowest, 10 the highest. Manicures and pedicures: 10- Truthfully, they do a good job. I usually get gel nails and they last a really long time. Mine never chipped. I got a spa pedicure once and I enjoyed it. My nail tech was great. Service and staff: 5- This is where it gets tricky. Some of the nail techs are not all smiles and chatter, so if you're looking for a welcoming atmosphere this is not the place. They will do your nails to perfection and call "next!" I generally don't have a problem with this, this is most nail salons in NY but I know it can be a problem for others. They could work more on their customer service skills. However, some nail techs there are great, shout out to Rico and Shirley! Overall, if you're looking for a reasonable nail salon that will get the job done and not bother you while you're on your phone, then this is the spot. They are quick so you won't be sitting there all day. I love that about them too. However, if you're looking for a top notch spa experience then I recommend going to Splendid nails. Good luck! Helen is a perfectionist when it comes to design, and Jessie too her time and did a great pedicure. Appointments are a little wonky - mine was for 4pm, didn't get started until 4:30 so give yourself plenty of time if you have plans after. Parking is available in the back of the building for free or there are plenty of meters. Nails chipped after three days (it was a gel manicure). One broke after two days and I was charged $7 for one nail repair. Sadly I won't be back. read more

The biggest problem here are the appointments. They seem to say yes to 90% of the customers and they're too busy. Today is my second tine when I had to wait an hour with an appointment. I also see that others with appts are also waiting and irritated. I'd say before you go, call right before you decide to leave your house to confirm that your appt will be honored. I feel like they don't even write down the appts. The polish itself lasts for a long time (weeks with no chipping). The salon itself seems a bit outdated. No! Just no. Waited 30 mins to be sat. Didn't mind that as we didn't have an appt. But when sat at the pedi spa, 3 people were told I wanted gel mani-pedi. My niece was getting regular mani-pedi. After 15-20 mins of being sat with our feet soaking, someone approached me but apparently didn't do gel so started on my niece instead. I waited a few extra minutes, eventually opting for regular mani-pedi instead. Granted my niece finished before me. When it was time for my mani, realized the lady that did my nieces pedi was working in someone else's hands whilst my niece sat there for nearly an hour! I have never left a nail salon, gone home, and immediately removed and redid my polish. The bubbles, the wrinkles, even lint in my nails. No cuticles were done. It was just a big no for me. I tried this place out as it has a fair star rating but please don't be sold on that! I have the smoothest soles yet they wanted to charge $7 more for callus removal...I have no calluses. $3 more for gel removal. Idk how much more to cut and shape my nails....i didn't even ask for that. Aside from the staff being talentless, customer service was poor, the owners kid was having an off day and the poor child was shoved into the storage room to cry. It was just all off. I try to never write a poor review (you can see my account) but I was bamboozled by the 4 star rating. Can't let this happen to someone else. This is my 3rd time getting my nails done here. They do an impeccable job everytime. Gel manicure: 5/5 Pedicure: 5/5 Facial waxing: 5/5 The interior is quite small but efficient. The staff are all friendly and helpful. There's plexiglass at every station. Must get appointments! We got turned away once cuz there wasn't room for walk ins. You can make an appointment the day before and they'll make room for you. First time coming to this salon & gotta say I'm hooked! Made an appt for a gel mani and gel pedi and was seated right away. Tina did my pedicure and she was gentle and meticulous the entire process! The color application was perfect as well. Then Fiona did my gel nails that had a lot of designs and omg! in love!!! She didn't rush at all and made sure I liked each nail. The thing I loved the most at this salon was they made sure to cure the gel for a long time (other salons cure max 30-60 seconds) and I'm sure it makes a difference. My appt was at 4:30 for a regular gel pedi and regular gel x mani. I left the salon at almost 8pm I kid you not. I actually sat down for my hands at 6pm!!! Mind you I didn't get ANY DESIGNS and to top it off my nails came out thick and bulky. They clearly are very irresponsible with booking and constantly overbook which then affects the wait times for the customers and has them clearly rushing when doing the clients nails NOT OK. I tried to give this place a few tries before giving up on them but NEVER AGAIN. Oh and to top it off they charge extra for every little thing including something as simple as making the line for French SLIGHTLY thicker lol. I had originally made an appointment with Fiona for another day but with the impending storm I wanted to come in earlier. The front desk manager was very helpful in helping me reschedule. I had to try Tina as all other Pros were busy. I do not recommend Tina. Very nice lady, but my nails are very lumpy, shaping not on par and my shape was pretty in tact so she didn't have to do much, and she filed down to my actual nail and proceeded to paint as if it was business as usual. I requested that she add more gel and she complied without issue which was nice. While I will try P&B again, I will try either Fiona or Rico next time. When I first moved to NJ this was one of my first nail salons I went to regularly the commute was less than 5mins from home however, due to long wait times, pedicure staff constantly changing, very little polish colors to choose from, and there's always only one technician that does tips and I didn't see the same skill set as the photos so beautifully placed on here and the IG Page. I decided to go elsewhere with a little more variety/flexibility and professionalism.... However, yesterday I needed a quick pedicure so I called placed an appointment waited over 30mins, pedicure was great Joey is very careful and attentive. I originally wanted a spa pedicure ($50) but since I waited had to nix that due to time constraints. As I pay I ask the person for the receipt because the pedicure came to $57 with callus removal. She started saying this is the price, I said okay how much for the gel pedicure she kept saying this is what "joey wrote this is the price" I said ok but either I want a breakdown or tell me the cost of the gel pedicure because it can't be $50. I then get money out the ATM to tip Joey the usual $10 bcuz you can only tip in cash. Still awaiting a breakdown ... the man who works there gets up from doing a pedicure walks over rudely begins yelling and starts slamming on the price sheet this is the price. You dont have to come here. Don't come back here. Im shocked embarrassed and confused on why as a customer he's speaking to me like this when all I did was request a breakdown of the charges an argument ensued. I would never recommend this place to anyone. 0% customer service from the management staff, over books appointments, no variety in polish colors gel or otherwise, one nail tech for tips, turnover always new workers, parking is available in the back but they only have two spots the other spots are for the other businesses that share the lot. Quick Update but unfortunately not as quick as the service you provide: { I never once complained about the price I asked for it to be shown to me or for it to be broken down on the receipt I was never provided until walking out. Joey is who I requested out of the TWO only available because the older nail technician who doesn't speak english did my pedicure before and did a terrible job. What I am complaining about as with your response here with this review as the owner lack of customer service. There's too much competition with the same prices in the neighborhood.
