I like to update my bad experience I had at PC Laptops. The manager contacted me he listened to my concerns. He rectified the situation by looking into the issue and fixing the problem. I thought buying my Laptop at PC Laptop would be a great place to purchase my laptop. I heard they had great customer service. Little did I know when we purchased my laptop the person who sold the laptop said he was the manager. Come to find out he was not the manager. The dates he promised were not correct plus the additional part he was purchasing from was not available for over three weeks. I checked Amazon for the same part and it had three day delivery. I called multiple times and no docking station. I could have bought the docking station and saved some money and time waiting. So who is the real manager at this store? Who can you trust? I arrived in town on business and found my laptop wouldn't boot up. I call and talked to Jason and he said to bring it over and he would take a look at it. In short order he had determined that when I had another shop fix a problem, they hadn't tightened the screws that hold the hard drive and several had fallen out allowing the hard drive to shift. He quickly fixed the problem. I would highly recommend this shop. They saved my butt. read more

So I bought a Model PCL Slim with the angle from the Sales Team Member "Montana" that the big box stores and the mass manufacturing PC's were sub-optimal. Purchased in May 2012, I paid more than for an pre-assembled laptop PC that I could have purchased up the street less than 1/4 mile away, thinking I was getting a better product and service (the second angle in the selling approach). Well guess what? 12 months later, a defective screen and suboptimal service. After taking it in on 6/3, Mike gave it a quick look and said the back lighting had burned out (inverter?). Mike wanted to "check in" the laptop to Matt. Matt said he was too busy. I asked if the laptop could be brought home to use (software loaded on the PC not on other PC at home) and could I connect to an independent monitor and continue to use? Mike said "yes" that was possible. Mike said he would "check in" the laptop and get back to me that same afternoon to let me know the status of the part (we got things straightened out at the beginning where PC Laptops thought I was out of warranty and they were going to provide free labor but were going to charge for the part). That same afternoon I called back to ask if they knew the problem and how long before the part would arrive. Matt said that the laptop did not have a backlight bulb and that Mike was incorrect as my laptop was an LCD screen so a new screen needed to be ordered. Matt said he would find out how long for the screen to arrive and would be right back to me that day so I could take my laptop back home if the LCD screen was going to be more than a day or two. I said fine. A couple of day's latter and still no word I contacted the State Street Store again. This time Patrick answered the phone and by coincidence the laptop was now assigned to him. He had it apart but did not know the status of the LCD screen. I asked him to check on the delievery date and to get back to me that afternoon as I was in the area and wanted to get the laptop if the part wasn't in today. He said fine. No phone call. Now it's 6/8 and I call the store. Dennis answers. I tell him about my frustrations with not hearing back from anyone regarding picking up the laptop and that Patrick had said he would call. Dennis puts me on hold to check into things. He comes back on the line to say "the repair cost will be "$130". I proceed to tell him it's not going to cost me one penny as its under warranty. I want the laptop today to use. He puts me back on hold and then comes back on the phone and states the laptop is all apart and to call back on Monday as the warehouse is closed on Saturday and he can't check on the status of the part. I went nuts. I said there is someone in the service department that will put my laptop back together today and I will be stopping by to pick it up. Dennis continues to try to talk over me as I am reminding him that I am the customer and have a legitimate complaint that needs to be aired. The next thing I know I hear the disconnect of the phone on the other end. All right. It's true I got upset, but I think you would too after the type of service I've not received since taking the laptop in on 6/3. A reminder to all......be aware of local stores (and believe me I want to support local) that don't have service at the top of their customer list. I took my computer to PC Laptops 3 times (they had it for a week each time), they were not able to fix this problem. They suggested I trade in my computer and more money and get another PC Laptop computer. NO THANKS. Now i don't have a computer and they do not want to give me any money for my computer. I've purchased 3 hard drives & 1 computer and I will never spend another dime with them. Took my computer in to see why the screen was elongated, they said I needed a new hard drive (mine is 3 years old), that I had a virus and that I needed to purchase another computer. I declined, called another company and they fixed it right on the spot! They are HUGE scammers.....I own a staffing company & interviewed a previous employee of theirs, & he told me they "peg" you as you're walking in the door. Their job is to sell you another computer. Update: I received a call from a district manager who was really friendly. He admitted that the store had charged me a higher repair rate than normal to entice a sale. He said they liked their products but we also like to take care of our customers. He offered me a repair free of charge because they wanted to make things right. I got the computer repaired and when I went to pick it up I could tell some of their employees were not too happy with me writing a negative review. Alright, I can understand that. They mentioned that while repairing it that a key had broken off on my keyboard but they had ordered me a new one and I appreciated the honesty. The representative than told me that a senior manager told them to tell me that since they fixed my computer instead of charging me money I had to change my 1 star review. It was the only reason why they were doing the repair or the keyboard. The fan is working great but since I took it to them my webcam and microphone don't work anymore. I didn't want to go through more to deal with that and I have other options that I can use when I need to use those things. Overall: Disappointed. I think they have great products and the staff seemed friendly enough. If you are needing a repair for your computer this is not the place. As the manager stated, I got charged a high fee to entice a sale, and it seems to be a regular practice. If you are looking to buy this might be a good option. Original Post: I've had a HP laptop that has been a champ. It was great and has does everything I've needed it to do including work projects, gaming, and storage. Its getting "old" in computer years but I've never had any troubles. The fan recently went out and so I decided to take it here to get it worked on. I was greeted by two friendly employees. I went over what was wrong with it. One employee immediately went into a selling pitch saying how my computer isn't that great compared to their computers and they would even offer a trade in value for my computer. They did seem to have an excellent product. The information was good but as much as I would like a new laptop its not in the current cards so I wanted to get some more miles from my laptop. They took it and said they would call me later about it to fix what I needed. They gave me a rough idea of price which wasn't bad. I got the call the same day I took it in, which I was presently surprised. They told me that my hard drive is starting to fail and that replacing it would not be worth the cost. I figured that would be the case, but I appreciated the information. I got another selling pitch. In short I got again that my laptop was a poor decision. Even though I did my research on it and its done everything I've needed it to. In this sales pitch he also inadvertently insulted other purchases I've made including my car. (He said there is a difference between Car maker A and car maker B. Why choose A when you could have B, like their superior product. I happen to have a car from his idea of poor choice from car maker A) Despite all this I am relatively understanding. Until the next moment. I asked so what is the cost for the fan? This is the whole reason i brought it in. Their response, oh the fan...We don't know. We didn't look up the price for the part, do you want me to? The whole reason I took it in and they haven't bothered with it! They were so focused on trying to get a sale they weren't even bothered in listening to what I needed. They wanted to present doom and gloom to get me to buy their product. I picked it up and became informed about the price. I got another selling pitch. The price for the part wasn't bad but their labor charge was pretty high. It felt like it was jacked up on purpose so they could talk me into buying one of their laptops. Overall: They did not listen to what I wanted/needed. They were so focused on selling their product that I felt like they could really care less about what I needed. I got hounded at every instance with a sales pitch, and reminded of "my poor decisions as a consumer." Every spare moment. Their laptops did seem very well built but I definitely didn't feel any of their advertised "love." Instead I felt frustrated, ignored, and like I wasted my time. read more

Wow. What a difference 7 months make. I had major computer problems 7 months ago and was sold $2700 computer. I was extremely happy because all data was retrieved. Now, the new computer is having issues and under warranty, not everyone jumped up and down to help me. PC Laptops is by far the best place to go for phone repair. I cracked the screen on my iPhone 7, and needed it fixed ASAP because I need my phone for work and I really can't go without it. I stopped by a few other places first but they all needed to order the part, which would take several days to a couple weeks to arrive. Obviously, I could not do this. Finally, when I thought all hope was lost, I thought about that time when I got my computer from the PC Laptops store in West Jordan and how helpful they were. I figured maybe they knew where I could go and could point me in the right direction. I stopped by the Murray store and found out that since my last visit they actually started doing phone repairs! Not only that, but they actually keep parts in stock for the more common phones. It took them about 15 minutes to do the repair and I had my phone back good as new! I can't tell you how awesome this was for me, as I came go without my phone. PC Laptops really does live by their motto. Came into this store about a week ago. Was greeted by an employee. Sad to say, I failed to get his name. Showed him my laptop, he quickly pointed out the issues I had. We discussed a few things. I was impressed with his knowledge, courtesy, and respect. About a week later, I decided to return to the store to discuss customizing new laptop. Didnt see the guy that helped me. Instead, a young guy came to me. Asked a few questions, kept getting responses, "we customize ...". Asked for list of possibilities, "got the same response.". I figured he was not interested in making a sale. I left the store. LAck of knowledge (why is he working in that store) respect, courtesy. The total opposite of the guy that worked with me. OH BTW, one of your competitors was very happy to help me and get what I was looking for. As an elderly white-headed female, I had some idea as what I was looking for. This store need to assess this kid. If ZERO STAR was an option. I would use it, based on that ONE young employee lacking work etiquette. UPDATE: PC LAPTOP contacted privately, asking for my phone number. Got a call from them, I think the guy's name was Wayne ... started off with, "We like getting 5 star". Asked what happened, I basically said the same thing that was written above. Couldnt believe the next statement which I thought was lame, "... you need to understand many computer tech do not have the skill to communicate with people.". Say what? I have communicated with lots of computer tech experts and their communication skills were just fine. PC LAPTOP failed to make sure this new guy was prepared and expected me to "babysit" him. It's always easy to promote a 100% excellent experience, but when things don't go well is when the company and it's management is tested. I bought a higher end machine for my wife who travels a lot and needs a good, working computer. It worked well for a bit, but later continued to crash on her, often while she was presenting to clients. Honestly, she was embarrassed and in fear of losing her job. We took the machine back to PC Laptops to explain the frustration we were having. Here is where the PC Laptop team stepped up! The manager calmly listened to our situation and told us he would take care of it and do whatever he could to make us happy. He then personally spent his whole day rebuilding a machine for us. He probably put in 15 hours that day, most of them just for us. All I can say is that he and his team took care of us BEYOND what they were obligated to do for us. I went in to your store 2 weeks ago (Monday June 2nd) to get an update done on my husband's laptop. My interaction was with Kris. He convinced me to trade in my husband's laptop to a newer one that they had on hand. I had the laptop on the charger for 18 plus hours. When I went to use it the laptop crashed in less than 7 minutes. I attempted 2 more times with the same results. Even had the laptop plugged in and it crashed. When I returned the laptop on Wednesday I was told that this issue would be expedited and handled by Andrew the Assistant Manager. And was promised a loaner that same day. As I was going out of town early Thursday morning. I called Thursday late afternoon because no one had contacted me. I was told that they were going to order a battery. That next week I called to find out the status. Andrew said they had to switch vendors and had expedited the delivery of the battery. I called this morning (Monday June 16th) and was told by Andrew that the battery was at the warehouse and that he needed more employee coverage as well as a slow of customers before anyone could go get it. I offered to pick it up at warehouse and was told customers could not do that. Just a few minutes ago I spoke to Andrew again who said no one picked up the battery and that the warehouse is closed. I have demanded to speak to his District Manager and he said he cant give out his name. So I asked to speak with the owner Dan, Andrew said that is not how it works. When I requested my money back he said I would have to pay a 20% restocking fee for a laptop that I used for less than 8 minutes. I am BEYOND FURIOUS because now my credit card payment is due in less than a week and the charge on it is the $600 plus from PC Laptops. Also we are out a working Laptop because we were told that our laptop has already been recycled. read more

First time come to this store. My wife just cracked her iPad screen a few days ago.... checked website for repair shop. Some offers in home service, other said need to be picked up next week. Remembering TV commercial and radio add for PC laptops Guys "We love You!". We picked one store located 5300 s on State street in Murray, the guy name Gorden Chow is very nice. He promised it should be done a couple of hours, which is important to us. My wife needs it tomorrow Sunday. But they are out of the color black we want. Gorden suggested another store has the black one we like. However, another store cannot install the screen at once, because they are short of technician. After that store manager talked to Gorden, he willing to install the screen for us... long story short, when my wife got her new iPad a few hours later, that made her day, and weekend! Oh my gosh! Seriously! I called on the phone about a price on a dell hard drive repair for an older D630 laptop. I was quoted $79 for the hard drive total to repair $159.00. I went there to see how much their lap tops were and if they have any refurbished ones and they had one for $600. But won't take trades on them. Which they advertise taking trades and it doesn't say on new laptops only. So I brought in to the store my Dell 630 and my inspiron mini 10 inside to ask how much it would be for them to be repaired and the guy trying to make the sale said oh it will cost more to repair those two than this laptop (he was trying to sell me for $600). The total would be $616.00 to repair my 2 laptops. Are you nuts??? The lap tops aren't worth that much to begin with. So I went on line to Amazon and bought a hard drive for both laptops for $45 bucks each and it appears to be just a couple screws per the instructional videos on line. Wow talk about lying and cheating. They said their lap tops new start at $1900.00. I am either getting old and out of date or they are really out to get ya. read more

I have been going to PC Laptops since it was Totally Awesome Computers, almost 15 years ago! PC Laptops has done a great job building my desktops and I appreciate the lifetime parts and service that came with my most recent one. My desktop recently initiated its own upgrade to Windows 10 and subsequently stopped booting. I took it into PC Laptops in the morning to get it fixed and have them roll it back to Windows 7. The guy who helped me was very adamant about getting me to upgrade my hard drive, and in my opinion he was a little arrogant in answering my questions about some of the options I had. I could tell he really wanted me to upgrade even though that wasn't best for my situation. After assuring him that I just wanted it to function like it did prior to the upgrade, they got my computer fixed quickly, in fact, by the end of the day! I was really happy with that, and everyone else I dealt with throughout the process was very pleasant. read more

This store is a little tricky to get to but "Worth" it. They are on the south corner, directly south of the Murray Costco. The manager is Guy White, he ran the Sandy store which is where I first took my Dell. Guy has an incredible understanding of IT and his people are all seriously skilled. I have never felt "Gouged" here. I would go here before going to the other PC shops only because I have noticed a difference in the Sandy vibe since Guy left, and I didn't like it. So go to Murray and save the headache, you will get your problem solved here and they will educate you too. Honestly i don't think PC pays their managers enough. Personally i love it here, the products are what you pay for and i love the lifetime warranty. The location is really close and i really have nothing bad to say about it. The only reason i gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the guy that sold it to us was really cool and helped us out a lot but when my husband had went back in to take our computer in he said hi to the guy that sold it to us and he acted like he didnt care and he was not as pleasant as when we met. I know that its their jobs to make a sale and use customer service and i know they are not there to make friends and i also know that he could of been having a bad day but it doesn't take much to put on a face and fake it till you make it. But i'm not gonna give a bad review for one guy the rest of the people were awesome and have great attitudes every time we go in. I've been a long time customer of PC laptops and have always had a fantastic experience, so when my mom told me her old computer was running slow, and things not even opening, she was ready to upgrade. I've loved having the 24/7 home support and knew she would love that. I wanted her to get the best possible package, with everything she would need. I spoke with Shane at Murray and asked him to please take good care of my mom, and to be sure that when she came in, that every detail would be taken care of for her-her data backed up, anti-virus, home support, windows that would be comfortable for her to navigate, battery back up, and every other detail that I wanted for my mom to be totally taken care of. Took my laptop in just due to age and was hoping to get it running faster. I hate to throw away tech if I can just put a little effort into fixing it instead. The guy at PC Laptops in Murray was very friendly, but told me my hard drive was failing and it wasn't worth repairing. He tried to start t once and for some reason it wouldn't start! He told me I had lost data and photos and I couldn't recover them. All of this was within 5 min of me walking in the door. He didn't even try to do anything. I went home, very upset at this point as a I had a huge PowerPoint project and some photos that hadn't been backed up on my external hard drive. I tried starting the computer again just in case and t worked fine. My brother in law does not work at a specialty shop that fixes computers and he even told me to save the computer and he would be able to recover most or all of my data. I'm not impressed at all with PC Laptops based on this experience. The guy seemed to just quickly want to trash my computer and sell me a new one which he said would start at $1200. Go somewhere else. I think their specialty is SELLING computers not FIXING computers. read more

My mom purchased a laptop from PC Laptops last fall and she loves it. It was a used one and it came with free service (which we have not had to use). The salesman was so knowledgeable and didn't try to oversell her which was a refreshing change; he actually took the time to listen to what she needed the laptop for. I was so pleased with their service that I referred my dad to them when he was looking to buy a desktop for his new business. My dad lives in Arizona and did the entire sale over the phone with the salesman. The salesman built up a quote for him based on what he would need to run all of his business files and programs and emailed to my dad. My dad decided to purchase the desktop and the salesman took care of all the details all my dad had to do was mail him his current hard-drive so that all of his info could be stored into the desktop that was being built. A few days later the desktop showed up at my dads office and it was set-up by the salesman to be 'plug-and-play' ready which my dad was over the moon excited about.
