Excellent work! Customer service is excellent! They schedule with you for an initial inspection and go through in details what needs to be done. We needed the roof replaced due to it being over 20 years old and it is a requirement of home insurance. The supervisor in charge of our work explained the work required, what's involved, and how long it will take. He then provided an estimate, which is reasonable. The entire roof was replaced within half a day, with a staff of 8-10 workers. Very efficient! He provided before and after pictures of the roof. Recently a year later, there was heavy rain and some water was coming through the ceiling of my room. I called them and they responded quickly that morning. The 2 guys worked on finding the leak on the roof, in heavy rain. They reported it wasn't the roof, but the flashing that is on the wall. This was a duplex, where the wall is shared with the neighbor. The flashing is original and has not been replaced. Water was going through the small crack, so the worker applied sealant across the flashing. Very good service. The supervisor came another day to inspect the roof and flashing. It looks all good. He said he can replace the flashing in 3-4 years. I just have to give him a call then. I recommend this company for your roofing needs. read more

I contacted R & C Roofing after reading numerous positive reviews. Chris Medina came out to inspect my roof and clearly explained what needed to be done. The quote was very reasonable, and I appreciated that there was no upselling. But yikes! My reroofing was scheduled shortly after the Kona Low storms in March, and just one day before another major storm hit Honolulu. The crew arrived early and completed the main house roof in a single day. The separate garage required more extensive repairs, so they returned the next day but had to stop due to heavy rain. The house has both a flat and pitched portion. Both sections were updated. Throughout the process, Chris Medina communicated well with me as did the office staff. The project started on the scheduled date (with the Kona lows and all the rain, I was amazed that it didn't get pushed back). The workers were efficient, polite, and helpful. The new roof looks great. There were 2 small issues (which is why only 4 stars--I'm a hard grader). My neighbor got bits of grit on the top of her car. It would have been better if they had told her to move car before they started tearing off the roof. My kitchen stove vent was not covered so bits of grit landed on my stove top. Covering that vent before deconstruction began would have been better. I didn't do a lot of price comparison so I don't know if I could have gotten a better price with someone else, but overall I'm very satisfied. BTW, their subcontractor for managing our solar panels was GREAT. read more

I Wanted to sealcoat my roof with Gaco roof coating to prep for solar panel install. Vance came out to look at my roof. He was very personable and knowledgeable. I received a quote shortly after for a reasonable price. I accepted the offer and they put me on the schedule. Half down and other half upon completion. Guys came at 8am and worked hard all day long. They finished up about 7pm. We did a walkthrough a few days later and they sent out a guy to do some minor touch ups. Roof looks great and feels cooler in the house. I was sitting in my car in our parking garage and I heard this whoosh! The roofing company replacing our condo's roof dumped a bunch of white sludge from the 25th floor onto my poor car. It was thick and sticky. My insurance company would charge $1000/my deductible and it would go on my record and probably raise my rates. So what to do? I called R & C Roofing Company and asked for the manager. The friendly and helpful receptionist was shocked when I told her what happened. No employees had reported the mishap. Oops! I got the owner's number, sent him a dozen photos and he said he'd take care of it right away. What a blessing! He did what he said he'd do. He sent Aloha Mobile Car Wash to my address and Reece who is the owner and a local, showed up on time and got the gunk off my car, miraculously. He waxed it as well. It looks like new, I am really pleasantly surprised. The owner is getting started, his rates are reasonable and he's very good at what he does. They're doing my neighbor's roof and they parked their truck in front of our driveway without asking. This was OK till my wife had to go out. No workers there to move the truck! They must have all gone to lunch which was very INCONSIDERATE! They also carelessly dropped shakes they were removing from the neighbor's roof into our yard. Luckily no one was injured. I wouldn't do business with a company that works like this. PS They were gone for over 1-1/2 hours. It's a good thing that the girl that answered their office phone was able to contact one of them to move the truck in about 15 minutes. I had my roof asphalt shingles replaced in Sept 2019 We just got through a really rainy December... and absolutely no issues so far. I initially met with Walden (R&C Estimator/representative) and he was so helpful in guiding me through the advantages and disadvantages of the different brands and options. No pressure to pick one particular brand. After a few days of research, and waiting for quotes... I felt comfortable with my own decision based on Walden's education and guidance. I received 3 quotes from different contractors. The quotes were similar in range but I liked the Certainteed Landmark Pro product a little more for various reasons. I then met with Robert (R&C Roofing owner) and he worked with me to get the best price and also offered to include some additional labor tasks at no or minimal charge. I felt comfortable with Robert's commitment to me to do an excellent job. Robert also was able to to adjust his crews schedule to fit my job in asap as my roof had just recently started to leak during heavy rain. Again Walden was really helpful in helping me get the Mililani MTA design application written up, submitted, approved and then picked up for us. He and Robert really kept in touch throughout the project to make sure I was informed on the status of the project. The installation was completed over two days and I was really happy with the result. The install crew were courteous and professional and did a great install. Sometimes things get overlooked but Robert and his lead foremen (Henry and Bobby) made sure that any oversights were taken care immediately and professionally. Robert was great to work with... also offered to have one of his crew check on the installation of the mounts for my PV system by another contractor and found that they were not installed correctly and would have voided the roof warranty. they worked with my to get those installed and avoid and manufacturer warranty issues. highly recommend R&C Roofing (and also Walden Wakamiya - estimator). read more

To be honest I was really surprized to see a one-star review here. My experience was quite the contrary and I am a very skeptical person. During the recent December rains, I wondered about the integrity of my roof so thought I should look into it. After calling around and getting the run around about dates and times, I found these guys on Google. When they offered to see me the next day, my first thought was that they were giving me the bamboozle with the "free inspection" thing. Boy was I surprised. The very next day I met with an inspector Vince who went on my roof and noticed what he called "a few shingles that could be replaced but nothing too bad." I was happy that it didnt take him more than an hour, because I had to leave. He asked me a few questions then left and again, I was not sure there was a catch or something cause the next day when Vince called me, he explained that my roof is good and there is no need for them to take up the few shingles unless I notices leaking and he reassured me that there was no catch, the inspection was free. For me, thats all I needed to hear, but he scheduled a follow up in a year just in case I noticed leaking or anything else. I could give five stars for the follow up alone. We got our roof replacement estimate from Vance. He was a nice guy and no pressure. They had a fair price. He even gave me referrals to someone who did solar water and PV removal / replacement. My solar water panels were about 30 years old so I figured it was a good time to replace them. We scheduled the PV removal, reroof, solar water and PV replacement. Everything went as planned and the roof looks great. About a year prior we had some shingles fly off our roof due to high winds.
