DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY I strongly encourage anyone considering this company to carefully read the negative reviews -- I wish I had. I contacted Cesar, owner of PC Land, because I was looking for a WiFi solution that would allow me to implement parental controls with reliable time management across all devices. That was my number one priority. I also made it clear that I needed something very user-friendly. Cesar told me he had a "great system" that would solve my issues and also provide enhanced security. While security was not my main concern, I considered it a bonus. Based on his assurances, I purchased and had installed a Ubiquiti Dream Machine system for approximately $3,300. From day one, it was clear the system was not user-friendly. After raising concerns, I was encouraged to "give it a try" and told it would work for my needs. It did not. Over the course of several weeks, there were multiple attempts, workarounds, and adjustments involving both Cesar and his IT technician. Ultimately, the system still did not provide the time-management functionality I specifically requested. When I expressed that I no longer wanted the system because it did not meet the agreed-upon needs, I was told, "We still think it's a good system for you." I fail to understand how a system that does not perform the primary function I requested can be considered appropriate. I later consulted another IT professional who informed me that this type of system is typically designed for businesses with multiple employees -- not for simplified home parental control management. After continued discussions, we agreed to a full refund, and I have two witnesses to that agreement. Cesar removed the newly installed equipment and reinstalled my original system. However, he left my home without issuing the agreed-upon refund check. At that point, I had paid $3,300 and had nothing to show for it. After repeated attempts to contact him with no response, I was forced to escalate the matter and mention filing a police report regarding the removed equipment. Only then did I receive a response. Cesar eventually issued a partial refund for the equipment but refused to refund $1,400 in labor costs -- despite the fact that the system never met the agreed-upon functionality. The labor involved amounted to approximately two hours of installation. As it stands, I am out $1,400 for a system that did not work as promised and did not meet the clearly stated requirements. I will be pursuing this matter in small claims court. This experience has been extremely disappointing. The most concerning part is the lack of accountability and the failure to honor a clearly agreed-upon full refund. I trusted this company based on a referral. Unfortunately, that trust was misplaced. Wow! Bank robbers and drug dealers are in the wrong occupation! Just have a sprinkling of IT knowledge, call yourself a nerd, open a business (even in your mom's garage---though these chaps have a "shop" not in mom's garage!)....and PRESTO: "Commit highway robbery!" Called these chaps; need to get old laptop out of "boot loop."....and upgrade said laptop and HP desk tower from Windows 7 to Windows 10 (been told "free" from Microsoft....) Not only are these gents "not mobile"....but they weren't certain if upgrade is free! *****And they charge $190.00 to install operating system!!!!!***** You Tube videos show how quick and easy it is!!! So....if you have "excess cash burning a hole in your pocket".....call Pcland Computer Services---they can, in the very least, SEPARATE you from those dollars! And at a speed record pace! ****YOU BEEN WARNED!!!! Call around for quotes!!! Caveat Emptor**** REBUTTAL TO Pcland's posted response: AGAIN....Pcland has "extremely" high prices! And you must schlep your computers to their shop since they are NOT mobile! Most "mobile" repair services charge hourly figure...for example $125.00. In that time, both my computers could be upgraded to Windows 10 for free due to both running licensed Windows 7. So.....your argument justifying your "rip off" price of $190 EACH to upgrade FAILS miserably. Guess you don'r get out of your little Pasco paradise much? Try to get relevant; although that may prove too far a stretch for you and your little computer shop. Hopefully more people will discover they DO NOT NEED your services for simple repairs and upgrades; You Tube is a marvelous source of education, experience, and independence! I agree that this place is a ripoff. I took my desk to them to install a new hard drive and mirror the old drive. Yes, they did it, but kept my old drive. When I asked about it, they said to come on by and get it. I asked that they drop in the mail. Not only did they refuse, even if I paid the shipping, but they treated my like a jerk for asking. Now I have to get a laptop repaired. Guess where I am NOT taking it. I recommend to all that you shop elsewhere!! read more

I took my tower in because it quit displaying to the screen. I told them when I dropped it off that I had removed the hard drive and was using it as a storage drive. I also told them that if the computer was worth fixing that I would get a new hard drive from them. When they called they told me it was a RAM issue, so I asked them to fix it and put in a 1tb ssd for a total charge of $376. When I got the computer back home it still didn't work. They said it was under warranty to I brought it back to them. Then they said it was the mother board and gave me three options; a used motherboard for another $175 which was not an option because of the reduced speeds, a new motherboard for $375 or rebuilding my unit for $1500 to $2500. When I chose the 2nd option, a new motherboard, he comes back to me a few minutes later and says they can't do it, it won't work. So I ask them to give me a quote to build a new system and they tell me I have to authorize $1500 on my card before they'll give me a quote. REALLY? So I keep trying to tell them that I want a quote for a new system and they just keep telling me it will cost $1500 to $2500 to rebuild my system and I need to authorize $1500 on my card. Once again, I tell them I need a quote for a new system, they tell me $1500 to $2500, but they can't be sure because they don't know what parts they're going to use. So I give them the exact build I want, motherboard, hard drive, graphics card, who makes them, the model numbers, everything they need to give me a quote. And again they tell me $1500 to $2500, but they can't be sure because they don't know what parts they're going to use. At this point I think I'm talking to a wall. Of course they will not refund the money I spent because of their incompetence. So their warranty is nothing but a lie. When I asked for my unit back so I could leave the manager tells me they'll call me when it's ready. When I asked what they had done so that it's not ready he says; "I'm not going to tell you that." Overall, I'd say they are incompetent and best and total rip offs at worst, I'm really leaning towards the rip off thing. By the way, they didn't even install the hard drive that I bought from them, they just plugged it in and threw it in the case. read more

I turned in a laptop with booting issues. After it was looked at, I received a very thorough diagnostic report via email on what issues were present. I was given reasonable options on how they could handle it for me. Extremely knowledgeable and patient to work with. I recommend these guys to anyone. Will return again if needed. I went to PC LAND or "RIP OFF LAND" being a senior and know nothing about computers.They installed a hard drive that I didn't ask for at a costof$334.I asked for a back up disk.They said another $125. for which I'm writing. All seniors stay away from this place. I could have bought another computer for the price I paid. Very polite though. read more

If I could leave a 1 star review I would. My experience, I took my new built computer in for diagnostic after it stopped turning on. They charge me 100 dollars to do a diagnostic, okay cool reasonable when an actual diagnostic is done. These clowns ran a test and determined my power supply wasn't working and that it would be 150 dollars plus providing the part to do a replacement. I said no I'll go do that at home, so I go that night but a new psu and swap it out and lo and behold my computer still doesn't work. After testing at a friends house, we've determined the "broken" psu works and these scam artists tried to tell me well oh we didn't expect you to fix it yourself and that if you want us to figure out why it's still not turning on you'll have to pay an additional 100 dollars plus the 250 fee to have us do further testing. Somehow after explaining this scam to my bank these bums finagle their way into getting my 100 dollars back all because of some loophole with the credit approval. Id you're going to charge somebody actual provide a truthful service instead of lying to your customers. I will never ever use your business again and I will make sure that anybody who needs honest pc repair to never go to your establishment. A waste of time and energy and resources all to be told it's my fault that I took the computer and that it's my fault that I didn't let them keep it and do further repairs and that it's my fault that the part that is actually fine is somehow broken to these people. I'm a tech savy person. Imagine if I was an older person who didn't know any better. Y'all are thieves and it's crazy that I call your customer desk and the manager is literally in the background telling the employee the bureaucratic response on what to say instead of having the responsibility of owning up to his own shitty business practices. I also appreciate that the Owner takes the time to call anyone's review he doesn't agree with false when the only thing he's provided to me was a false diagnostic just so they could scam me out of more money. read more

I wish I could say something good, But I can't. My computer was not working for some reason, they told me that they had a computer that was just like mine and they can take all of my hardware and put into their computer. and sell it back to me for $200.00, In order to save my pictures. Come to find out they never turn my computer on to find out it was a software issue as well. Now they tell me I have to pay another $175.00 for them to work on the software issue that was on the computer. Then telling me I'm basically ( S.O.L ),Shit out of luck. Thanks!! I just don't understand if somebody puts in Hardware into their computer that they would think to turn it on to make sure everything's compatible but I guess that's just not common sense for them. Erol at PC Land saved the day! My computer came down with a super nasty virus and I wasn't able to use it at all. He fixed the problem and wiped it off the hard drive within a few hours! Very reasonably priced. I will definitely use them again! read more

I brought my MacBook here for what seemed to be a hardware issue I was having. I was told I needed a new hard drive and that would fix the issue, even though my hard drive was only about 3 years old and even though the test they ran came back showing the hard drive had no errors. So I purchased a new hard drive and brought it to them so they could install and transfer all my data over. I was charged $190 for this. I got the computer back in a day or two and everything seemed to be back working fine. A week later my computer shut down and would not come back on. I took it back to them for further review and I did not get my computer back again for approximately 5 weeks. I'm a nursing student doing online schooling so I had to purchase a whole new computer so I didn't get left behind in school. When they finally returned my computer over a month later they told me it was just a simple bad connector wire on the hard drive, something that should have been diagnosed and fixed the first time instead of telling me I needed a new hard drive. To top things off when I went to pick up my computer I was told that the new hard drive I purchased specifically for this was not used, or installed in my computer! When I asked them what I payed them the $190 they charged me when it wasn't done I was told "that wasn't on the work order". It was a load of bull crap. Their worker told me I needed a new hard drive so I went out and bought one and paid for them to install it and transfer my info. He quoted me $190 to do that and I paid them, so how would that not be on the work order? It made no sense, they lied to my face and pretty much stole my money, they did not do the work that was promised. I was even able to return the unused hard drive back to Best Buy. I disputed the charge but somehow they were able to fabricate some kind of documents showing the work they did so I lost the dispute and lost out on my money with absolutely nothing to show for it. They did not do the work so I have no clue what they could have shown to say they did. This company has lost my respect and my business.
