I have had a great time with all the instructors at Fulcrum. They hit the sweet spot between encouraging and over the top cheerleading. They all know their stuff and give good corrections. The workouts are varied in format, music, and focus so I didn't get bored. I had a serious injury and they modified exercises for me while I progressed back to full weight bearing and impact. The instructors I regularly look for are Jai, Freddy, Cheryl, and Dakayla. I loved Rodney but he moved. Space: The gym looks like a gym, not a health spa. I like this. It is clean and well maintained. There is an outdoor platform and a garage door which has been great for COVID necessary ventilation. COVID: They took it seriously [sanitation, masking, ventilation] and even let me know when I may have been exposed [pre-vaccine era]. Payment: I had a few hiccups with injuries and life changes and they were gracious about suspending my membership until I could return. Women: There are tons of badass women who work out here. Classes are dominated by women. Cons: I cannot really think of any. For first time boot camp/weight lifters, I would recommend doing their health assessment/intro interview. They will show you some moves there. Don't be intimidated by the acronyms or moves - everyone can do them and pros will give you good individual attention if you need it.

I am a…read morerunner and enjoy strength training so I thought orange theory would be perfect because it is a mix of the two. I absolutely loved it. The instructor was so nice his name was Anthony. They explain how everything works if it's your first time and also do a debrief after class and are checking in on you throughout it. You wear a heart rate monitor and the goal is to be in the "orange zone" which is about 85-90% effort. Half the class starts on the treadmill and half on weights then you switch halfway through. Theres a lot of variety in these classes and I didn't feel bored at all. It's good for all skill levels because you can push yourself however hard you want and modify the movements. If running intimidates you, you can "speed walk" instead, a lot of people were doing that. They also have classes that are just cardio, just weights, and a few other variations. To me this was the perfect class because it incorporated strength and cardio and wasn't boring. Anthony also played really good music. It is pricy for a drop in class (28$) but with the bundles you can get a better deal. They used to do first class free but they changed it and now it is 12$. If you haven't tried it but are intimidated don't be because everyone is very friendly and it's an inclusive environment in my opinion with many different skill levels.

I'd been attending an Adventure Boot Camp in San Jose for the past year, and knew I needed to keep the exercise going. Plus, I was hoping to meet some people since I knew no one here. I discovered the Lake Oswego Adventure Boot Camp after a disappointing try at a different camp. I've been with them since August and what a fun summer and fall it's been! The fantastic trainers are Katie and Noelle; they are very energetic, supportive, and funny, even at 5:30am! Every workout has been unique; I can't think of one complete repeat. That keeps things interesting, challenging, and definitely not boring. I've consistently burned 400+ calories (as per my heart rate monitor) each workout, which for me is awesome. If you can't do a move, they provide alternate exercises to avoid injury. We use weights, move around the park (but will be moving indoors for the winter next month), and have fun doing it. They have camps at 5:30am, 7am, and 8:30am, 4 days a week. And if you want an evening class, they have their "Power Half-hour", which I haven't taken, but I hear it's quite challenging and fun too. I drive 10 miles to get to their location (Foothills Park for outdoor, and the Wizer's building for winter) - at 5:30am. The best part is that when the hour is over, you've gotten a great workout done, and you're wide awake and ready to start your day. Thanks Katie & Noelle!

I was hesitant at first because I am not in the best shape and I was concerned that it would be to hard for me, but Katie makes each work out customized to your fitness level. I knew I was having a good time, because the hour flew by, and I knew I was getting a good work out, because I was sore after every class. Beyond the results you will see in the mirror, Katie (and Noelle) are very sweet, caring ladies who really have your best interest at heart, and want you to success in your fitness goals. I couldn't recommend it more.

The coaches are freakin bad ass. There were only 6 people in the class but from what I hear, there are less people going to classes post pandemic. There's a parking garage that you can get validated or you can do street parking.
