Heading to the tackle shop with my kid and niece/nephew. While I looked around our kids were playing in the store (stacking small containers of powerbait). The lowlife clerk snapped at all the kids. We were going to purchase a large gift card and a pack of overpriced Senkos ($11.99 at this store, typically $7.99). Maybe the extreme markup is to make up for all the potential customers they run off? Needless to say, we left without buying anything. Overall, my 1 star is due to crappy service, poor freshwater selection, and insane markups. Wouldn't recommend this place for yourself or kids. I was not surprised to see other reviews on here describing how other families had their first fishing trip ruining. Real stand-up people running this place. Interesting business strategy. Overall: Awesome store, awesome staff, 20/10. I was down here for about a month, and I wanted to find a tackle store that wasn't too far from Cape May that was also open in winter. Saw a lot of the 1-star reviews on here, so I was skeptical when I went in. However, this place is awesome. The staff is super nice and very helpful. I was looking for a rod to put a conventional reel on, and after telling them what I wanted (type of fishing, the reel I'd be using, lure size, types of fish I'd be going after, where I would be using it), they showed me some options from different price ranges and I ended up buying one. Prices were very fair and I ended up going back twice for other little things, leader line and some rod epoxy. DO NOT BRING YOUR KIDS! Teaching your sons to fish for the first time is something a father and son will always remember. The clerk in this story robbed me and my 4 and 6 year old sons of this memory. We were just looking for some hooks, bait and beginner's rigs. Since we were not "pro fishermen" going on a deep see excursion the clerk told us "he has no time for me". There was no one else in the store. After his mom yelled at him for his behavior and causing my boys to cry, he told us to "get the F*** out of his store" Worst experience. Ruined what should have been a great and memorable day. If you've read the other reviews, you can most likely tell that's the staff is not helpful and rude and I could not agree more. But I feel like everyone is talking about the staff so I'd rather talk about the products. For salt water fishing, you won't have any problems finding what you need. But for freshwater fishing, there's maybe a shelf and a half of baits/lures you could use for anything freshwater. To be honest, the Walmart fishing isle doesn't overprice their items and has many freshwater options. The problem much people face is not knowing what to use which is the reason they ask for help. But like I said before, the staff isn't going to help you at all. If you're new to fishing, and don't know what to use, I recommend using the app Fishbrain, which will show you the best lures or bait for whatever lake or pond you're at. Also there are many YouTube videos that will tell you anything you need to know about fishing. If you want saltwater fishing things, you should go to No Bones Bait and Tackle in the entrance to Wildwood. It's only a 5 min drive away from Peace Token. The staff at No Bones are very very very nice and will even spool up your reels. But it's all saltwater. So if you need freshwater lures or baits the Walmart fishing isle will be best. Overall Peace Token is a bad choice for a fishing store and if you have kids, blow right past there. read more

This is my husband's favorite placed for fishing supplies. It's like a Toys "R" Us for fishermen it has everything. First they have their lowest price guarantee against any competitor. They have all major brands of rods and reels. In addition there is a very large assortment of tackle, bait both live and artificial. You can find just about anything you need to be a well geared fisherman. My husband can spend hours here looking at everything from the T-shirts to the rigs, jigs, nets, reels and rods coolers and carts. This just opened up last year and it is pretty popular among professional fisherman as well as those who have fishing as their favorite hobby. My husband has compared prices to several other bait and tackle shops down the Jersey shore and finds that Peace Token is true to their guarantee that they do have the lowest prices. In fact I'm writing this review sitting in the car as my husband has been in the store for over an hour now so I thought I'd make myself useful and do a review since he loves it so much. You should check it out. One other thing the owner Mike is very knowledgeable and friendly will answer all your questions and help you select the correct items that you need. I cant say enough how professional and helpful Robin jung was when Placing my online order for the first time. I placed an order and fully submitted it but I made a mistake and needed to add more items after I already submitted one order. Robin was more than happy to help me to combine both orders to ovoid double shipping fees, to go a even a step more Robin reimbursed me the entire shipping fee after he realized my order exceeded 100$. Off street parking and very clean. They pretty much have everything you need for fishing, crabbing or any other aquatic sea life capture. However the staff is not helpful at all. They seem to be more worried about people looking suspicious as if they are stealing. Witnessed the woman working there following 2 teens around store and asking if they were buying something. It's a bait and tackle shop... you have to look at stuff to know if it works. Besides their prices are super high as well. I received a gift frommy wife she purchased from this store ... a fishing pole made by pen. A pen real and a couple of hundred ollars of accessories of fish and tackle products. On my fourth cast this pen rod cracked at the mid point of the proximal end of the fishing rod. My first time fishing in a long time and was quite excited. I immediately took the ride back to the store. Everything was so new including the price tag from the store was still on the rod. I explained to the owner that the rod was a gift. He would not honor his own price tag still on the rod. When I returned with the receipt from the person who had given me the rod he still charged me 20 to exchange the rod. Very disgusted with a local store owner that doesn't stand behind his products. This was a gift I had no control over when it was purchased and when I would get to use it. The fact that it was only my 4th cast when the rod cracked would indicate to me it was a manufacturer's defect. The owner himself agreed that the defect was unusual. But that he only was responsible for the products he sells for 7 days after he sells them. I even think that would be generous if I was using the rod for 7 days and then it broke but it was the first hour that I was using it and it broke. With the receipt in hand he sold me a new rod for 20 bucks. I can not suggest using a store that doesn't stand behind its products better than that.... read more
