She began by telling me this is "standard procedure". Not once did she apologize for the inconvenience or offer any accommodations. After my initial shock of her tone and response, I shared that I expected a higher level of service. She then proceeded to yell and ask what did I mean. When I'm paying nearly 2,000 in rent, I told her at the bare minimum I expected an apology for the inconvenience. She continued with her apathetic response and still never offered an apology. They are not who you want to deal with. They don't like for their tenants to put in work order…read morerequests, but they rent homes that are clearly not rent ready. We had an issue less than 2 months after signing our lease. There was a leak in the main water pipe, which lead to us being without water and they were hesitant about providing solutions. Only after we called the city on them did they agree to offset the next month's rent due to us having to live in a hotel and with family for almost a week. Our door had an issue with the lock and they half way fixed it. After avoiding that it was in deed a safety issue. The locks on the windows were broken and they only replaced a few of them. They also threatened to evict us because they claim they didn't get our rent, when we clearly had paid it a month early. To add insult to injury, they waited 30 days prior to our lease being up to tell us that they were not renewing the lease. When we asked for a reason why, seeing as we always paid on time or even months early, they just reconfirmed that they are choosing to part ways with us. So if you are looking for a home that provides you with stability and actually cares about their tenants, don't use this company.

We went to the office and we were given a 50 page list of properties for rent. We were told to ignore the pet policies because many owners just wanted veto power. We picked up ten keys of properties to visit on our own. While this was convenient, it made me nervous to rent a home where anyone with a license could take keys and potentially copy them for later, nefarious use. We eventually decided on a home to rent. We were told that was unavailable. We had a second house we were interested in and were told it was available. We put in our application fee and deposit and waited to hear back. And waited. And waited. Eventually, after daily calls checking on the status, we were told that someone else was approved before us. This was less than two weeks before I was scheduled to make a 600 mile move and now had no place to move into. They did refund our fees and deposits. Fortunately I had read other poor reviews and had a backup to the backup plan.

For example, PMI screened one tenant, had that screened tenant sign and enter into a lease, then allowed another tenant to occupy the property. That tenant was never screened or on an official lease. This illegal tenant, who was essentially squatting, paid one month of rent and neglected to pay for another 7 months; she was eventually served an eviction notice. During this stressful process, Robert and Radiah did not answer or return calls to address the matter, nor did they attempt to evict the squatting tenant. We contacted PMI's corporate headquarters and they were also unable to reach the regional office in Columbus. After much frustration, my 70 year old mother terminated the contract, with this sham of a property management company, and resorted to evicting the tenant utilizing her resources. Upon legal retrieval of the house, she soon discovered that the illegal tenant had completely destroyed the property and it took a professional cleaning company to restore the house back into a habitable condition. Said tenant owned five pit bull terriers and allowed them to defecate throughout the house. In addition, the house was infested with fleas. I would never recommend this company under any possible circumstance. It was extremely disheartening to watch my mother suffer through such anxiety. Furthermore, in my opinion, both Robert and Radiah engaged in senior citizen abuse and their property management company rests upon fraudulent business practices.
