Gorgeous Venue, But Major Disorganization and Stress The venue itself is absolutely beautiful, but unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to expectations given the high cost. The flowers were completely wrong, and the coordinator--who was new--caused several issues, including handing out corsages and boutonnieres to the wrong guests. The timeline wasn't followed, and the flow of the event felt disjointed. My photographer even had to step in to help coordinate, which is definitely not part of her job. While I understand that the coordinator was new, it was still very frustrating, especially for the amount we were paying. My advice: choose the cheapest package and pick your own vendors for a smoother experience. The venue is beautiful, but the lack of professionalism and organization made for a stressful day. read more

Beware! An epic rip off. Flea infested, filthy beyond belief, cockroaches (live and dead), safety code violations a mile long (these are serious; worn open live wiring hanging off front of building, rusty nails sticking out of benches, rotten and broken railings and steps, etc.) more broken and substandard appliances and utensils than you can count, and the promise of a response to our complaints but nothing. We started a list of problems but eventually stopped because it was just exhausting. I could make this review ten pages long with specific problems but it would lead to the same conclusion. This place is an expensive dump. The owners clearly don't care and are milking this chalet for every penny they can get. They are slum lords, full stop, and I wish we had carefully read the reviews of this disgusting place before we paid $6900 for a weeks stay. To be fair (and this explains the uneven reviews) there are a lot of chalets on site and some are in way better shape then others. Sadly the largest chalet (#62), and likely most expensive, is in derelict disrepair. I really didn't get to see all of the property because the day I went it was storming pretty bad. I went for a wedding. But from what I saw it was beautiful considering the area that it's in. It'l look s very well kept, the I my thing that threw me off was the bathroom in the lodge it's one per person. I expected it to be at least 2 or three stalls. We stayed in chalet #36 and it was TERRIBLE! Looks like they haven't cleaned it in a very long time. There are dirty dishes put away in the cabinets, dead bugs all over the place, crumbs from the last people all in the floor under the counter, toothpaste all over the mirrors, towels were not freshly wash they smelt like they had been hung up wet and the shower was so bad I didn't wanna shower in it! Not to mention one of our toilets didn't work and we tried to get them to fix it an no one would come fix it. And there's not even a trash can or trash bags in the unit!? read more

She made her day terrible and I hated seeing her not enjoy her wedding day. There was a strong mildew smell throughout the unit. Blood stain on the comforter. Rotting wood. Electrical outlet hanging out of the wall in the bathroom. Our family has been coming here for years and it is apparent that in all the time we've spent... nothing has been updated. To start with, the furniture, the paint, the floors and so on... nothing has been replaced or touched up in God knows how long. Nothing has been cleaned either... as even the blinds have thick layers of gunk. So... I can deal with old and run down if it's clean at least... but it's not. In 4 days, I've killed about 10 immense roaches and 8 spiders. They're coming out of holes in the walls that haven't been patched up. The silverware drawer was filled with brown sticky gunk and mismatched silverware. We rented a 4-bedroom chalet with a loft that's supposed to sleep up to 8 people... and there were like 3 rolls of toilet paper, 2 clean towels and a handful of mismatched forks and knives. Even worse? The bedsheets were stained. The pillowcases were stained. The carpets look like they've never been cleaned. The floors were sticky and the kitchen was a disaster. Oh and they charge a daily cleaning fee / will charge you if the silverware and dishes aren't clean when you leave. At $300+ a night... this is highway robbery. Avoid this scam of a place. It's no "resort"; it's barely better than camping in a tent. I am furious that I spent so much money here to give my family a less than mediocre vacation. I'm never coming back. read more

SKETCHY!!! Management is terrible. If you have any kind of issue they do not know how to handle it. We complained about the people next door to our chalet who partied outside right by our bedroom window till 4am (it clearly states in the registration paperwork that the resort has quiet hours from 10pm till 8am that must be followed). We were told by management that there wasn't anything they could do about the noise, so we were basically forced to leave without a refund. I'm hoping they do the right thing and refund us. We only got to stay one night out of our 3 nights that we had planned. We had young children with us and no one slept that night due to noise next door. We had plans to go hiking in the morning and that did not happen because no one got sleep. It was like trying to fall asleep at a night club. Not even the television helped to drown the neighbors out. If you plan to stay here PLEASE know there is a good chance you will be throwing your money away. The place is gross, outdated, trashy, and they DO NOT enforce any rules what's so ever. The only nice area of the entire place is the office. read more

The chalets here are all multi-room rental homes, so they're best for large groups. If what you're looking for is a romantic getaway for two, I'd recommend a bed & breakfast instead. The chalets are not upscale - they're rustic and located in the woods with a small man-made lake in the middle of the complex. It's a peaceful setting, but don't expect your getaway to be completely bug-free. The chalets are generally clean and have kitchens and decks that are good for grilling and parties. Not all the chalets have their own wireless networks, but there is free wi-fi in the community. The signal can be a bit weak in some of the chalets, and when the complex is near capacity because of large events, it can be difficult to connect. read more

We needed a place to retreat from the hustle & bustle of life.... and we found it! I asked for a chalet tucked away from noise & when arriving, we were more than pleased. A deck was greeting when we arrived and in the back was woods as far as we could see. Peaceful & beautiful view of the woods looking through all the windows. We enjoyed a walk around the lake and stopped off by a swing to watch the ducks. We definitely will be back. read more

Our family rented a cabin for New Years. After the reservation was made we had a COVID death of a family member and could not utilize the rental due to out of state funeral. Asked for a refund or even to transfer the rental to a later date but management could care less and after multiple conversations they said no. They then turned around and rented the cabin again so they got paid twice. VRBO has since refunded their fee but the Resort has happily kept all their money. read more

I have been going here for years! I have always wanted to right a good review for this place and this last spring I had a horrible time. Not only was the cabin dirty, infested with ants and cockroaches (Live and Dead), the water smelled like rotten eggs. The solutions my friends and I were given were not Ideal at all...We were only there for 2 nights and paid $1000.00! When the complaint was handwritten and delivered the very next day, at check out, I was personally told that someone would get back to us. It did not happen. Two weeks later another one of our group was asked to speak on our behalf. Let's just say nothing went well. IF you want details, please let me know. Over a month later we were given a silly $ for a refund if we did not write bad reviews about our experience. As some one that uses Yelp on a daily basis from where to eat, where to shop, where to have my car repaired, where to have my nails, hair, or what Yoga studio to use. It was a complete and indefinite Deal Breaker. Customer Service is lacking as well as cleanliness. This not the place to have a relaxed time anymore, and that is sad. This place has really seen better days. Our family rented several units over thanksgiving weekend. There wasn't a single cabin that didn't experience issues. We stayed in chalet #22. The front porch gate broke during our stay. The ice maker is broken. The television in the living room only works on one channel. The efficiency clothes washer works, but the dryer did not (total pain). We saw what resembled critter droppings on the shelf. There really is a big difference between all the units as they are all independently owned. Some are more modern than others, but the prices are the same. I'm sure this place was really nice 20 years ago, but it's really not anymore. I would avoid. read more

I actually rate this place a zero!! The chalet had black mold at the ceiling. It smelled of mildew. The front desk offered no solution except a couple boxes of dollar general brand damp rid. There were mold rings in the toilet. My friends lodge had a massive roof leak. They caught a mouse!! There were mouse terds all over the place. When wiping up the floor from a small spill, the paper towel was black from how filthy the floor was. The wedding venue/coordinating was half-assed. They forgot to light all the candles on the table. They forgot to setup a table for the wedding party. The coordinator was bi-polar or something...one minute sweet as sugar, the next scowling. The sound system for the officiant kept cutting in and out. Save your money!! You will have a better wedding in someone's back yard! read more

I highly recommend chalet #6. It's pet friendly, clean , great shower, comfy bed and overlooks the lake. Bring your own hairdryer and shampoo :) it's quiet and a fabulous get-a-way! The place is very nice and the chalet functional - would have been a good place and I would rate it much higher BUT: We had a reservation and were given a quote for the chalet by phone. While we were on our way to them, they called to tell us where to pick up the key after the office hours. We told them at that time that we're one person more than originally expected, which was no problem at all (according to them) as the chalet had an extra bedroom. At that time they just said "that is ok". Well, later when we checked out, they charged us more for the chalet then initially quoted - due to the one more person with us. We complained and told them that nobody has made us aware or given us any information upfront about this fact. At that time the person in the office couldn't help and the manager who called later just didn't care about our complaint. My problem is not that they have different rates depending on the people staying there - But what I expect is that I am told upfront about a price change and not after. read more

We stayed two nights to attend Fantasy in Lights. The cabin was musty and not clean. The cabin was not updated at all. The beds were old and uncomfortable. The windows were so dirty you couldn't see out them. Cobwebs were everywhere. I was VERY disappointed! I will never stay here again and would not recommend it. read more

My sorority visited and had a few issues. The rooms were not cleaned (candy under the bed, used band-aids on the wall, etc) yet we were charged a cleaning fee. Live and dead roaches everywhere. Ants in the kitchen. Tried to work through the issues with management but a joke of a refund was only offered if we took our original bad reviews down. This is not a "5-star" hotel. I give this place 5 stars because of the overall experience. I really don't understand the negative reviews. This is no spa & luxury lodge-type resort. If you want that, go to Callaway Gardens just up the road. It is a rustic, family and pet friendly, comfortable, clean, quaint, extremely spacious accommodation in a beautiful wooded setting with a lake. We have 4 children, so regular hotel rooms rarely ever work for us. We can rent a cabin here for less than it would cost for two hotel rooms. Some of the cabins are nicer than others, more updated, etc. but we have stayed in the most basic of cabins (no fireplace, no dishwasher) and we still love this place. And we would come back and recommend this place to others, especially large groups. Probably not ideal for just a couple. We came here for Fantasy In Lights, Thanksgiving weekend, and we are thinking of making this a yearly tradition! Callaway Gardens is two minutes away, there is lots to do around here. Also, there is plenty of family fun at the resort. A playground for the kids, a family Game Center, tennis courts, basketball courts, putt putt, etc. all included with your stay. And there is an outdoor pool for the warmer months. We have stayed here twice and would definitely come back! And everyone in the office is nice, friendly, and very helpful. read more

After contacting management, we were offered a refund of a very small portion of what we paid, and it was contingent upon removing our previous negative reviews. RENTERS BEWARE. If this is their regular practice, the positive reviews you see are very misleading. AMAZING trip with my girlfriends. the trip to PMCC Resort was perfect from start to finish. i researched the pine mountain area for a place to stay for myself and 4 girlfriends. we are in our early 30s and wanted something more than a standard hotel. while there a few options in the area for cabin rentals, i have heard nothing but great things from people i know who have stayed here. i was a little uneasy from some of the reviews i read from early in the year, but they couldn't be further than what i experienced. maybe they were looking for more 5 star (also meaning more $$) cabin type property but us girls were pleasantly surprised by our stay. we were greeted with a warm and welcoming greeting from Julie at the main office as we arrived. we got there a little early and our cabin wasn't quite ready yet, so we went in town for a coffee and get our bearings. when we did get into our cabin it was clean, fully stocked and no such bugs as previous vacationers had reviews. given we were in a heavily wooded resort i had expected to see one or two, but never even saw a bug the whole time. we went to dinner at there on site restaurant one night and it was wonderful. do yourself a favor and pick out a cabin that suits your needs. we picked out # 31 and it blew us away. we loved our trip to the resort and we all agreed that we are making this a yearly girls trip. thanks chalets resort for a wonderful vacation. read more

Loooooooooong story short. Upon check in the cabin was filthy, dead cock roaches everywhere, live ants crawling on kitchen counters, USED bloody band aide stuck to bedroom wall, candy on the floors, dust etc. Then the LIVE cock roaches came out. They fell on people while sleeping, crawled on the beds and kitchen counters etc. Management seemed reluctant to assist at the time but said we could leave, move to another cabin (not good option since there were 9 people most of which had wine with dinner and didn't feel comfortable driving to another cabin) or they could provide bug spray. After they weekend was over we had difficulty maintaining contact with management regarding our complaints. It wasn't until we posted negative reviews online that they took us seriously. Their best offer for our terrible stay and bad customer service was a $150 refund (we spent $1000) and cleaning fee waiver on our NEXT stay. We have been repeat customers for many years. Management and owners made excuses for their bad customer service, filthy cabin and delayed communication with us. Owner said if he ever offered customers more than a $150 refund for complaints he would be out of business! At one point he flat out told me I was wrong. I thought, "Why would repeat customers suddenly lie about their stay when there were no issues in the past?" If any potential renters want more details about their poor customer service I will be MORE than happy to give those to you. We never had issues before, but now that we have seen how awful their business ethics and customer service are we will never go back. read more
