We stopped in at this place, ravenous following an overnight backpacking excursion near Abram's Falls. The parking lot was full, and having never been here before, we were excited to see what this place was all about. We placed our orders inside then seated ourselves at outside where we found an array of people and pets. We also found a taco bar which offered one delicious beef taco and a mean dream of a margarita that Shawn/Sean made with in-house jalepeno infused simple syrup (but don't worry, they have other non-spicy options). The thin crust pizzas and crispy truffle fries offered just the fuel we needed after much hiking, and we commented on how this place was well-suited for really any person of any age. We were visiting the Smokies staying in Townsend. I looked up a bar/grill/restaurant that had live music and found the Social. The outdoor seating looked fine, but the service was anything nit inviting. It seemed to be a bother to ask for a table and to get someone to wipe the table. This restaurant is an order and pay at the counter and they bring it to you. The short line area is not very long and went in front of the soda fountain, through the entrance and doors. Where people needed to hold the door open. It felt like a bother to order and the food was not very good. Next to the food order is the beer counter. Not inviting. Just a plain counter with taps. The wine is terrible. The interior of the restaurant is dull and almost empty. Unfortunately, we were not happy with the service, food, atmosphere and experience. read more

We loved the outdoor seating. They have plenty of heaters to keep you warm and carabiners on the posts to clip your dogs leash to. I also saw the staff bringing out water for the pups. The staff was attentive and came out to check on us often. I tried the cider they had on the menu and it was nice and dry. They have a red and a white wine on tap which I asked about but I couldn't get any specifics about brand or location so I didn't try it. I will probably pass on getting the pizza again, but the truffle fries and board were excellent. I felt like they were priced very well and you get plenty of food. The pickles on the board were spicy and they ended up being my favorite thing. Overall a welcome and needed addition to Townsend. read more

First time here with some friends that had been before. It was worth the trip from Hardin Valley. Brought my dog with me as they are dog friendly outside. They have bowls for water for the dogs also. In order meat pizza from inside and a beer. The pizza was one of the best I've had in Knoxville. I went with the hazy and it was delicious. The outside area was nice with some shade clothes above. If you have kids there is nice play area for them. We were there in June. As I say there and looked at the mountains surrounding us, I could only imagine the views during the fall. What a welcome relief this place was after all of the hustle and bustle and tourist traps of Gatlinburg. This place checks all my boxes. - Quality, fresh ingredients - Great Atmosphere - Delicious, flavorful food - Great craft beer selection and it's even verified on Untappd Service was fantastic from the get go. I had the smoked trout sandwich and it was so flavorful. From the trout to the pickled red onions to the toasted sourdough it was just a great sandwich. My wife got the pepperoni roundbread. She loved it and my sample piece (or two) was good. The crust was crispy, the toppings were fresh and the basil smelled so good. More people need to know about this place. I would give it a sixth star if I could. I am visiting from out of town but want to come back some day when they add their own brewery. read more

We've been coming to the wears valley area for years and far prefer it to the Gatlinburg/pigeon forge side. The peaceful side social it's just what this area needed! It's incredibly family friendly--my kids had a blast playing on the playground , andy husband and I could eat a meal and hold an uninterrupted conversation. Genius! Honestly, even if the food wasn't good, that would be enough. BUT the food and beer are outstanding and the staff are fried fly and helpful. This is possibly the best addition to the Townsend side of the Great Smoky Mountains National in a long time. Incredible beer list, which obviously isn't something that existed before its arrival in Townsend. This dry town fought a long time to stay that way, but what I appreciate about the PSS's arrival is that they don't just do the basic beers. They feature local brews that are genuinely imaginative and delicious, and the bartenders know their business and can explain each of the brews. I appreciate that they understand the range of beers. They have, for example, a Czech pilsner brewed locally. As someone who never gets to taste that except when in the Czech Republic, it's a true delight. The food is carefully prepared with great flavor. The pizzas are the real star of the menu, with the kind of crackly crust associated with Neopolitan pizza. I'm also a huge fan of their salads. The homemade ranch has an herbaceous flavor most other places lack. So why the 4 instead of 5-star review? Unevenness of portion size. Some things are generous (Peaceful Side Salad, pizzas), while others are not (Appalachian Trail Board, amount of dressing for the salad). In fact, some things are over generous, such as the amount of cheese on the Peaceful Side Salad: it is sometimes more than the lettuce. Overall, though, this place is a must stop in Townsend. You won't go wrong with anything on the menu, and if you happen to be lucky enough to be there when the taco stand is open outside, don't hesitate to indulge. read more

Amazing find in Townsend, Tennessee of all places! They have a fine selection of draft beer including my favorite Bitburger Pilsner. Yes, I know right...a great German beer on tap in rural Tennessee. My wife and I ordered the Fig, Pear & Arugula pizza. Oh my gosh, it was one of the best pizzas I ever tasted. So far so amazing. Well it gets better. While waiting on our food we sat outside under a propane pile heater and watched numerous folks and their dogs playing in the grass. We also watched as one of the staff brought water bowls and dog treats to each and ever dog. The general manager welcomed us warmly and chatted briefly. Then when our pizza arrived he saw that we needed plates and flatware and promptly brought them to us. This was truly a at least a five star experience. Great food, awesome service, clean restrooms, family oriented and dog friendly! Plus they had funny bathroom signs... The perfect place to relax and eat after hiking the Smokies! We enjoy a soft pretzel which was warm and fluffy with the right amount of butter and salt on top and the beer cheese dip was wonderful! I had the butternut squash and kale salad with chicken which was delicious and so refreshing after a long road trip and long hike I needed the veggies!! We came here while visiting Smoky Mountain National Park. There is a nice patio that is at least 4 times as big as the indoor seating. They are dog friendly with TVs inside and outside, and a great play area for the kids. They were pretty busy this Saturday due to the Tennessee game (and maybe the fall foliage and fall break). We we greeted when entering and told that the kitchen was very busy, so it would be about 45 minutes on food unless we wanted to order from the taco bar. We also had the option of ordering beer at the bar if we only wanted drinks. We were going to order the sausage + vegetable round bread, but they had run out of mushrooms. We ended up ordering truffle fries, a protein bowl with smoked trout (smoked in house), and 3 tacos. It was too much food for the two of us but was all very good. The protein bowl had generous portions of avocado and trout. I wasn't crazy about the vinaigrette, but I'm not big on dressing to begin with so it really didn't matter to me. The truffle fries were delicious, and it was a huge order. My husband had one veggie, one pork, and one chicken taco with corn tortillas. They were all good, but the smoked pork was the favorite. Everyone here was super friendly and helpful and made sure that we had everything we needed. And it's in a pretty setting to boot. Everyone we spoke with around the Smokies recommended this place, so we simply had to go! It's a nice break from the intensity encountered in Gatlinburg, and has a sweet country vibe to it. The pizza (I ordered the fig pizza) was super delicious, and my friends enjoyed their tacos from the taco stand. They called them "simple but good" and proceeded to eat every bite. The drink selection was nice, and my red wine was actually surprisingly good. A good pour, too. The only thing was the band...not the best. But kind of adorable the way they gave it their all. I'd also say that there are A LOT of children and dogs in the outside sitting area. So if you don't like either one, just be aware. There is a lot of space to spread out, though. read more

The ambiance of this 'quick service' restaurant was very laid back. They have outdoor and indoor seating which was is nice. Dogs are allowed so if you are allergic you may want to keep that in mind. They have 3 bathroom stalls and they are open to all genders. The food was good, but not my favorite flavors. The sandwich had had an odd taste that I couldn't place and the fries had an over powering flavor of truffle oil. Very cool concept with the taco bar, however, all of the tacos could use more seasoning. The chicken taco was very bland. Also, tortillas need to be grilled or heated before serving. Corn tortillas fell apart immediately when I picked them up. I did see a lot of pizza and fries come out of the restaurant, so maybe I'll try that next time.
