Peachtree Immediate Care - Billed to get paid and did not provide treatment - Urgent Care Near Me - Athens, Georgia

Came in for school physicals. Called ahead of time to confirm what was included and the cost. Very kind office staff explained that a physical is $40 and that the school forms would be completed during. Physical completed and $40 paid for the each of the 3 kids. Fast forward a week and I receive a bill for $180. Apparently the school physical is $40 but to complete the school required paperwork is an additional $60 that no one felt would need to be mentioned. Spoke with the billing office and this is just how things are ran. Submitting a complaint with the HHS and formally disputing the charge under a lack of good faith estimate provided when services were rendered and total was paid based on communication. read more

FRADUALANT BILLING PRACTICES - BEWARE - NEVER GO HERE. Made a payment arrangement with my daughter to cover amount not covered by insurance. Then came back and said they couldn't do a payment arrangement after they deducted first payment arrangement amount - then deducted the entire balance amount in one transaction - So many violations of medical billing practices to mention. They have been reported for fraudulent billing and collections. read more

The receptionist staff was friendly enough. I got in quickly as a walk-in. However, the doctor and treatment was absolute garbage. Useless. He refused to acknowledge my experience and gaslighted me about my pain and understanding of my condition. At the same time, he used the phrase, "I don't know much about" said condition. He refused to provide me with a prescription for treatment/cure, and instead, he suggested an over-the-counter treatment that, according to research studies, provides no cure or consistent benefit. He told me to come back in 6 months with proof that the condition had worsened. Why am I paying these outrageous prices for a doctor to look me in the face and tell me he doesn't actually understand the condition and will not be willing to provide treatment unless I come back for another visit in 6 months to pay him again for what he could have done in the first visit? read more

Worst service I've ever received. I got a COVID drive-in test, a test which my insurance pays in full. After a year and a half of calling and emailing, this issue has yet to be resolved. After pointing out their mistakes, Peachtree insisted on sending my charges to collections. Of course, none of their physical locations deal with billing, so any support means you have to wait on their phone line for at least half an hour, only to be told repeatedly they are "on it". This is a sleezy, possibly criminal company that preys on people during a pandemic. read more

I scheduled an appointment online and received the confirmation email so I know the appointment was scheduled. However, when I got there for my appointment they were closed. They did not send me any kind of notification beforehand that they were closed or do anything to cancel my appointment. I don't have a car so I ended up wasting $30 going to an appointment that they should have notified me was canceled. read more

Nice doctors office and the front desk worker was sooo sweet and friendly. I felt very happy even just talking to her. The nurse and doctor...eh. I did not feel examined very well at all and was not diagnosed with anything. They just threw some medications my way and was in and out of my room is about 1 minute. I arrived at opening time, 8am, and doors were locked. I was told at 8:05 that I could not enter until the "provider" arrived and he/she was not going to arrive for at least 20 minutes. At 8:30 I gave up and went to a different urgent care. I felt too sick to waste my time waiting for the office to open. read more

This place is soooooooo slow. I've been sitting the waiting room for over an hour. There are 3 people in the back I know for sure and they've brought back two people since they opened. This place sucks. They just keep talking back and fourth about personal stuff through their little window. Probably get quicker care at the hospital. Don't waste your money here read more

I went to this facility to be seen by the doctor so I could get a refill for my hypothyroidism. I had no insurance and therefore couldn't afford to go to my regular doctor. I explained my situation to both the receptionist and the nurse or PA. After the nurse/PA spoke to the doctor, I was told the doctor wouldn't even see or talk me because she wouldn't refill the prescription! Don't doctors follow the Hippocratic oath???? Very poor service and lack of professionalism. read more

This is supposed to be an urgent care center yet it bills out at ER prices. I will never use this facility or any other facility associated with Peachtree Medical Group. Walked in with flu like symptoms and walked out with a super outrageous bill. They code the visit as a Doctor Visit 45+ minutes yet the entire time an actual Doctor saw me was under 3 minutes. One nurse took a swab, one brought Tylenol and the Doctor (assuming it was an actual Dr. and not a PA or NP) came in and said go home and take your meds and walked out. The total time the staff dedicated to my care (or lack of) was under 15 minutes. We have attempted to contact and have them recode the visit another ( less fraudulent way--DR Visit Short or Urgent Care visit). They have been extremely difficult to deal with and why not? They made me put a credit card on file and they stated in an email that they would automatically charge that card without sending an actual hard copy of the billing to my address. We are disputing the coding but they will charge the account anyways. Really disappointing that their motto is "Patient First". 15 minutes of care for $370. No wonder out healthcare system is broken for the end user. I highly discourage anyone from using this center or any other center associated with this group... "Upcoding is fraudulent medical billing in which a bill sent for a health service is more expensive than it should have been based on the service that was performed. A upcoded bill can be sent to any payer--whether a private health insurer, Medicaid, Medicare, or the patient." read more

I wish I could rate 0. September 30th 2019 I went to their location in Athens, GA because my son's eye bulbs seemed to me "separated" from the "eye frame". I asked how much would it cost, they said 25$ and I paid They also got my insurance info. After a pretty long wait, the Doctor looked at my son's eyes by standing in front of him, and told me : "I see what you mean but I think it's nothing to worry about. If you want I can refer you to an optometrist because we do not have one in here". My insurance received (and refused) a claim for 492.02$ (as eye visit) I received a bill for 175$. I called them up and the lady told me there is a mistake, I own them 150$. I asked for a new invoice with the correct amount. I understood why health insurance are so expensive. read more

The female nurse practitioner on staff during my visit was rude and acting like a qualified physician. She did not go over medication contraindications or allergies in what she prescribed. Had she looked at my record before, during, or after the exam she would have seen that I was severely allergic to the medication she was prescribing but did not in any way inform me of this. It was not until I tried to pick up the prescription that I was told by the pharmacist that the medication prescribed to me was one that causes anaphylactic shock from my allergies. This clinic also fraudulently files as a PCP visit with BCBSGA when BCBSGA has a separate filing and cost. My claim was denied because they did not correctly file as an urgent care clinic. read more

BEWARE!!!! This place will file fraudulent claims to your insurance company and are taking full advantage of the COVID pandemic to overcharge/overbill. I had a positive COVID test here and they insisted on a follow up phone call with provider. Fine. The phone call lasted about 2 minutes and she just asked about my symptoms and said go to hospital if they got bad. From that, my insurance company was billed $321.90 for an "Established Patient Visit, 30-39 minutes". Of course the majority of that gets kicked back to me because deductible hasn't been met. I reached out to them and told them that the charge was ridiculous and I was willing to pay their posted self-pay amount for a follow up visit (which is also ridiculous $). They refused to budge. I wonder how many other people have had their insurance company fraudulently charge from this place?? I have reported to the appropriate state insurance commission and my insurance company. read more

I could not be more astounded with the lack of care given. I came in with strep symptoms and my rapid strep test (which only tests for A strand) came back negative. I was barely assessed, my lymph nodes were not even palpated. They prescribed me an antihistamine (which doesn't make much sense because I have little to no drainage and this definitely wasn't caused by an allergen). I waited forever, but what was worse was when I called and told them that my roommate tested positive later that day for strep strands C or G, they said they wouldn't be able to test me for those. The fact that a clinic would not try to correctly diagnose a patient nor care that they are spreading a bacterial infection all around to others is insane to me. What kind of healthcare doesn't care about the community as well? Or their patient feeling better? Overall, a waste of my $75, my very little time, and my even less energy. read more
