My experience with Dr. Barajas left me feeling dismissed rather than heard, particularly when I was trying to communicate my concerns and needs as a patient. What made the situation even more upsetting was my interaction with Falicia, the Canton branch manager. When I spoke with her by phone regarding the doctor's decision to dismiss me as a patient, I felt that instead of helping resolve the situation, the conversation became argumentative. I should not have to argue with a branch manager simply to have my concerns heard and to understand what is happening with my care. I understand that medical practices may have policies regarding patient dismissal. However, patients deserve to be treated respectfully throughout that process. Communication should be professional, calm, and focused on addressing the patient's concerns rather than becoming confrontational. This experience has caused me significant frustration and has left me feeling that my concerns as a patient were not handled appropriately. I hope the practice takes this complaint seriously and reviews how this situation was handled, including both my interactions with Dr. Barajas and my phone conversation with the Canton branch manager. She prescribed medication for me and told me it was a cheap generic so not to worry about the cost. Great! Only that medication was NOT generic and, in fact, was no longer being made. So the one store in a 20 mile radius that had it was charging $60. Way to keep up with your meds there, doc. The second time I went in for lower back pain. I was seen by a RN rather than a doctor. No problem for me...I've known nurses that are smarter than doctors anyway. Only this nurse was lousy. She didn't even look at my back to check for swelling, bruising, spinal issues, etc. She just checked my reflexes and said that, since it wasn't a weight issue (I'm 5' and 100lbs) I should probably just do some back exercises to relieve the pain. WHAT?? First of all, LOOK at the problem. Second, you can't recommend exercises for correcting lower back pain when you don't know what's causing it...you run a high risk of making things worse. What a lousy facility. I will not be returning, or subjecting any of my family, to this place.

I went in to see Dr. Adeyi for my annual physical, and my visit exceeded expectations. Parking was ample and convenient. The facility is modern, clean, and looks beautiful. The front desk staff was kind and attentive (they even brought me cold water!). I was taken to the back by Nurse Florrie, who is just the sweetest woman. She was friendly, kept the mood light, and listened actively while I took her down the long, twisty road of my medical history. She, along with the front desk staff set the tone for my visit, and helped put my mind at ease. Dr. Adeyi was everything I hoped she would be, and more. Her reputation preceeded her, but even still, she exceeded my expectations. She was so kind, patient, and compassionate. I am usually very nervous in doctors' offices, due to some trauma from previous experiences. With Dr. Adeyi and Florrie, I never once felt uncomfortable. I felt that Dr. Adeyi really aimed to collaborate with me on my care, balancing her expertise with my preferences and lived experiences.
