***4.5 stars - only because it's the first visit!***…read more My skin is glowing. I am walking around without makeup, not an ounce of mineral powder or blush or concealer, and I am unusually confident and feeling pretty. Why, do you ask? I just had the most wonderful facial with Eva Tupa at Skin Care Plus. You see, I am approaching that midway mark in life. And being the somewhat vain person that I am, I do like to age well. And I've been somewhat unhappy with my skin the last couple of years; noticing a few fine lines around the eyes, little bit of dryness and less glow. So, upon recommendation from my wonderful hair stylist, Melinda at To Dye For, I made an appointment with Eva for an anti-aging facial, which would hopefully make me look like I was 20 again. (Just kidding - I don't think I looked all that wonderful at 20!!). Eva is certainly a walking advertisement of her own prowess and product; a blonde Eastern European, she has the typically gorgeous porcelain skin and looks wonderful. She proceeded to give me a microderm, lactic acid scrub, and a pulsing light electro-something treatment. For 2 hours Eva worked painstakingly on my skin. The price: really phenomenal, just over $130. I had a facial once at Exhale that was less labor intensive and did not get near the results as this for three times the price! And my skin looks fantastic! Even my husband noticed. Eva also said that the results of the LED treatment will take a day or so to show - so even better tomorrow. It's recommended to get these anti-aging facials every 4 to 6 weeks. If I can feel like this it's definitely worth it. Did you know that Halle Berry gets anti-aging facials once per month? If it works for Halle, it can work for the rest of us!

Worth every penny. Joan knows it all! She has amazing products that make your skin glow. I have…read moreused Joan's facials and products to help with acne, severe dry skin and scaring. Her products are natural and have helped my skin more than I could have ever imagined. I would highly recommend Skin Care Plus to anyone looking for a great facial.

This small shop caught my eye as we were moseying down Third Street in Geneva last weekend. The…read moreentrance is a somewhat farther back from the sidewalk than the others in town so it might be easy to miss. Any shop using the word "apothecary" tends to pique my interest since they often carry more niche brands, or higher end skincare, and as someone who loves exploring skincare I am quick to stop in; this was no different. I was a little surprised to see as much Dr. Hauschka here as they carry since that's a line you can get at Whole Foods. It was also a surprise that as a shop specializing in makeup and skin care that they didn't appear to carry a sunscreen--and I mean an a product that was solely sunscreen, not a foundation or lip color with SPF 30 or something. Sunscreen is probably the most important thing one can use in their routine, but you wouldn't guess that at a shop focused on skincare? They have a LOT of scents here. It's a small shop and it can quickly become overwhelming, as well as hard to tell the perfumes apart. Both of us customers in store quipped about the lack of coffee beans, and learned that they had them once and when they spilled they stopped using them. I was curious about one but I wasn't able to tell what it truly smelled like since one of the other folks in the shop had sprayed several already. The person working gave me a little tester to take home, though, which I appreciated. I would give this store another whirl if I was in the area. But overall I was a bit disappointed in their skin care options and lack of detail (the missing sun protection). They have a lot of makeup here too but I didn't really look at that much (it was somewhat dark in the shop so I wouldn't have been able to see a true color anyway). The building is not accessible; there are several steps to get into the shop. It's street parking only.

I'm a total skincare junkie and I LOVE Odalisque. They have the best skincare, fragrance, and…read moremakeup, including their own line of makeup! Bridget and the staff are so warm and helpful--they will give you a product demo or a little makeover to help you find the right products that you're looking for. A truly unique boutique! If you're not local to Geneva, they will ship to you, too!
