I like that there are a variety of classes to choose from depending on your availability. Ive only used the actual gym equipment a couple of times, once months ago and the second time yesterday. The machines looked clean and the gym is spacious- however I did find it off putting that I had to check out the clamps to hold the weights on the bar from the front desk in exchange for my ID. This was not the case when I came months ago. It also was clear that some other clips were missing from other machines. I don't want to blame the gym for doing what they have to do but it does impact the experience.

I really, really love this place. After some recent health issues, I was scared to get back into…read morethe fitness game. A friend told me about IFF (and trainer Shannon) and I finally got up enough guts to check it out with the 2 week trial. I was hooked after the first class. Shannon is positive, energetic, motivating, and supportive. He challenges you while also assisting with any needed adjustments. The classes are tough - but you can go at your own pace, too. The center is split up into two parts: a small gym (personal training, workouts on your own if you choose) and a group fitness room. Classes range from Core to Kickboxing, with others thrown in for variety, including some Insanity-type workouts. Memberships are monthly and you can adjust them to fit your needs (several times a week vs. unlimited, etc.). As a former martial arts student for many years, I really enjoy this aspect of the classes! I know these types of workouts aren't for everyone, but they're perfect for me. I always leave sweaty and tired, but feeling better because I came. I love the small, community feel here and have been so thrilled with my experience thus far. I needed someone to tell me what to do because I had no clue how to reach my fitness goals. Fitness together set me up for success! I would discuss my goals with my trainer and reassess every 3 months which entailed a fitness assessment and weigh in. They have a styku which is super cool and essentially measures your whole body so you can see your progress. It also measures your different weights so you can see your muscle gain and fat loss. The trainers are amazing and create great workouts. They are encouraging and hold you accountable. They always check in on how things are going and help you find ways to stay on track. My main trainer was Cesia and she is AMAZING! It is a little pricey but totally worth it! I have seen amazing results and am so happy I did it. I've only been at Evolution Fitness (functional fitness training) for 3 months, and the owner and staff exude excellence in all they do, personally and professionally. They model qualities and share knowledge that help me to be a little better person each day in all areas of my life. THEY invest in US!! It is not just a job. You can tell. Besides the above (I love love love the staff), this is what makes Evolution Fitness different from the other functional fitness type gyms in Milwaukee, and I have tried many of them: (1) the coaches have an ongoing personal relationship with each member of the gym and seem genuinely interested in my goals and growth (2) low athlete to coach ratio (very rare in Milwaukee, more common in Ohio where I am originally from) (3) a community that is not divided into cliques by skill level so everyone is connected (4) personal attention from the coaches when you have a question or need some help. The personal aspect is so important to me in terms of me being able to maintain a high level of motivation so I come regularly and train hard! Coaches get me excited to train, ensure I am growing in my movement quality, and push me in my workouts. I have felt no judgment or micromanaging. The owner truly believes that fitness should be the best hour of the day. Oh and he loves that the community often comes early and stays late because we are tight! Even being new, I am fully integrated and feel well supported by members and staff. The owner is incredibly positive and seems to have hired coaches with a positive and generous style of coaching as well. So AMAZING! I just cannot say enough positive about this gym. I was so lucky to have heard about it. You can even train outside of class times if your schedule does not allow you to get to regularly scheduled classes. I have finally gotten settled in my life in Milwaukee. No more moving around the country. And the search was long but I also found the gym I will not move from. I'd tried other gyms/trainers, but never felt that they listened to me. I always ended up getting hurt, and so stopped working out at all. Julie is different. She listens, and modifies things as needed. She challenges me to push further and harder, but I never feel unsafe or uncomfortable.
