Very high end meal and food was commensurate. Ambience was nice and dimmed, although kids were welcome (and there were kids at every table at 6:30 pm). On the positives side, it was the best meal we had at Big Sky (between Chet's, Carabiner's, and The Exchange restaurant). We each ordered bouillabaisse which came with shrimp, mussels and two big portions of lobster, along with some mashed potatoes. This was delicious and generously sized. I could easily have shared the dish. The salad was really large and also very tasty (don't remember the name but it came with candied pecans and a red wine vinaigrette). We also ordered the kids pasta which was a hit. The had a good spirits selection and had Blanton's. On the negatives, the kids grilled chicken breast came overcooked, despite us asking specifically for it not to be overcooked. Fortunately they immediately redid it for us and it came back moist and tender the second time. We also had the hamachi crudo which was not the freshest tasting fish and was half tuna (mich like the tuna poke we had at Carabiners) and half hamachi. I was not expecting this good of a meal in a small hotel next to the mountain. But everything I ate was absolutely delicious. From the hamachi crudo, to the Caesar salad, to the Tomahawk steak for two. Speaking of, the Tomahawk steak was cooked absolutely perfectly. It was crusty on the outside, a perfect t medium rare on the inside, and all the sauces came with it. Hands down one of the best steaks I've ever had. And at 42 ounces it was plenty of food for 2 people. I only wish I had a dog so I could take the bone home and give it to him. The staff was very friendly and did an excellent job. They also brought us a free dessert since it was my friends wife bday. It's not cheap by any means, but it's at the mountain, and it's a high quality steakhouse. The meat didn't come with sides so we ordered a few items from their Sharable Sides (take note on Sharable!...the serving is good for 2-3). - Grilled Asparagus - fried garlic, lemon oil $12 - Heirloom Carrots - roasted and blistered, za'atar, agave $12 - Roasted Fingerlings - garlic, sea salt, duck fat $11 - Pommes Frites - truffle salt, grated Romano, parsley $7 (but we got charged for the mash potatoes $10 which I didn't know at the time) Out of the sides, I liked the grilled asparagus and pommes frites the best. Lobster mac is a dish that we see too much of, but it was truly exceptional at Peaks. This is a perfectly fine chophouse at Big Sky for those who tend in that direction. We had a fine meal, starting with the scallops and mac n cheese and then going to the ny strip and tenderloin for mains. The scallops were probably the highlight of the dinner, cooked perfectly with nice accompaniments. The steaks were very good as well. The feel of the place is still a bit at odds with the menu though. The chairs are normal banquet chairs and it has that hotel feel vs. being Morton's or Smith & W. They have one of the larger menus so if you have a diverse group of eaters, this will be a good if more expensive choice vs. other options at the base. read more

We dined here Thursday evening after first arriving into town and the ambiance as well as the whole dining room was a total vibe which really excited us after a long day on the slopes. We were greeted quickly and seated almost immediately, but after that things dwindled. It took forever for our waitress to come to the table & once she did, we placed all our drink orders immediately. It took what felt like forever before she ever came back with our drinks to actually place our order. We ordered a variety of appetizers to include: wedge salad, elk tartar, and scallop special. The elk tartar was very bland but the wedge and scallops were great. For dinner we ordered the asparagus, macaroni and cheese (which was incredible!) with the beef tenderloin topped Oscar style and the angus ribeye with a lobster. My tenderloin was great but the Oscar topping was very vinegary and definitely hindered the meat more than it helped. My husbands ribeye (per him) was dry, lacked flavor, and well past charred and over cooked on the outside with a lobster tail that was quite small, over cooked and also had no flavor. The asparagus was also very bland, overcooked and was quite mushy. But the Mac-n-cheese was unforgettable! We would've probably drank 3-4 cocktails each, but because our service was so slow we had 2 each. We had just as large of a party sit beside us about 30 min after we were sat and they had finished their entire dinner by the time our dinner was even served. The food is delicious, the presentations are gorgeous, and the staff are sincere and friendly. Overall a very nice dinner in what looks like an upscale restaurant. We were two parties of 4+3 people, and they accommodated us in adjacent tables, which was nice. Could not sit at the same table due to covid restrictions. We were immediately served some bread + butter and a nice puff pastry cup filled with trout pate. Quite nice. The Wagyu NY striploin did not completely meet my expectations, it was very rare (asked for medium rare) and it was not buttery and delicious as usual Wagyu. It was very good nonetheless. The Wagyu bavette was also cooked rare instead of medium/rare and it was ok. The fries were really good, super crunchy outside and soft inside. I don't usually indulge in fries, but these I could not stop eating. Did not particularly like the Parmesan cheese on top of them, but they were so good that I got over it. Finally got a hazelnut mousse for dessert and it was very good, my type of dessert. Forgot to take a picture, I swallowed it too fast. Quite pricey, but if you're staying in big sky and want a nice night out, this could be a good choice. read more

I would like to start off by saying we could not have had a better experience here, our server was Bradford and he was AMAZING!!! He was truly the best, Dalia was helping him out, who was also awesome, made sure we had everything we needed. Both of them went above and beyond. This was easily the best service we have had at a restaurant. Not to mention, the food and drinks were incredible. We ordered the tomahawk which Bradford told us would take about 45 minutes to cook (totally fine with us) and in the meantime made sure we were taken care of and had everything we needed and more. He made this a truly unforgettable experience and I would recommend this restaurant and Bradford to anyone coming in. This review is only for their coffee drinks as we did not have any food. The menu is fairly small and their breakfast and lunch is buffet only. Food looked good but definitely was resort pricing. The coffee drinks were awesome and they have all different types. It was fun to sit and drink our coffee while watching the skiers. It was pretty busy but they were able to seat us at the bar right away. The main guy there was hilarious, high energy and super cool. Peaks is a hotel restaurant. Pricey, but a great blend of tastes. We stayed in the Powder Ridge Cabins at Big Sky. Peaks is located in the Summit Hotel (Mountain Village Base Area), about 2 minutes away by car. The meal was excellent. The pheasant ragout was delicious, but could have had more pheasant meat. The elk medallions were tender and tasty. I rounded-off the meal with a tasty tart for dessert...perfect ending to the meal. I drank beer and wine...both excellent. I had a local Lone Peak Bourbon Barrel Oatmeal Stout and could not find this delicious beer anywhere else at Big Sky. My favorite beer of the trip. No problems with the wait staff...the food came in a timely manner and our drinks were refilled. What I really enjoyed about Peaks is that they went the extra mile with the flavor of the meal. Check the menu online and you will understand. The elk was miso cured and came with a taro root puree. Pheasant is a difficult meat to prepare, but the pheasant ragout sauce blended well with the pheasant meat and included a couple of pieces of amaltheia chevre cheesecake. With appetizers, desserts, and drinks, our meal averaged $90 a person. By far, this is the most expensive place in Big Sky, so it doesn't make sense that Peaks offers $10 lunch specials, but dinner is 10x more. A had to sell a lung to pay for the meal, but still had a great experience. read more

We loved The Peaks! We received a warm welcome the moment we arrived, were sat in a cozy corner table and felt amply distant from other guests (COVID-wise). I had a butternut squash soup starter that was the best I've ever had, and the roast chicken for my main. It was a massive portion but was so delicious I was thrilled to have leftovers! The Game Chili, a mix of Elk, Bison and Beef is very tasty and flavourful. The Red Quinoa salad was also good. They were understaffed the first time we were there and that caused frustration with many waiting for a table and many open tables that they just did not have the staff to service.
