Snow is lightly falling and the ambiance of Main St is straight out of a cool western movie sets. We slipped into Sweet Chili Asian Bistro after searching the web for a close by Thai restaurant. The interior was well decorated and only one other party of 4 was present, a concern! We were quickly seated and ordered the fried calimari and green curry with chicken, one of their featured dishes. The food arrived quickly and was warm. The calimari was lightly battered with a good exterior crunchy and a delicious plum like sauce. The green curry with chicken, carrot, zucchini and chopped tomatoes quickly followed. For being a featured dish, I found the green curry bland, watery and lacking flavor. For me curry sauce has a rich coconut milk taste and flavor. The sauce here was loose, and runny. Sweet Chili Asian Bistro has a great location, nice interior decor but the food here is not on par. When I think of Thai food, my taste buds begin to dance and salivary gland are purged to explodes. This experience was fine but I know their are additional options to try in the mountain of Bozeman.

On this last visit, I was able to make it for Happy Hour and they had a few items on special. I loved the ambience and the atmosphere my family even decided to get a reservation. When i pronounced I had a shellfish allergy I was told that everything had been cross contaminated and I couldn't eat there. I almost had to leave my family and uber home since the majority of my family can eat shellfish. I am a cook but I am no sushi chef I have done sushi while private cheffing. I do believe that there are certain steps you can take to prevent cross contamination and being able to store things properly in order to prevent contamination. I understand that when at sushi restaurants there's no helping fryers which is completely understandable. There is also a point I'd like to make how there should be some kind of sign outside or when making a reservation to pronounce on their end that they can't accommodate. At the end of the day I'm disappointed, I almost chose to leave my family, and we all ended up walking out without ordering since they can't accommodate to my allergy. I hope they take steps in the future to prevent cross contamination or pronounce they cannot accommodate to certain allergies before making a reservation.

The seats are mostly booths which normally I love. However you share it with the peak pls behind you, and if they are heavier, you're bobbing up and down bc they aren't perfectly flat. At least ours wasn't last time which became VERY annoying very quickly. If you insist on sushi, stop by. It's not terrible, it's just ok overall. It's great to have the food we love down this way. Curries are just as fabulous as the other location. In addition to the staples we love like the green or panang curry, they also have wings on the menu which I hope to try soon. They've taken over the beautiful space formerly occupied by Blacksmith (which I miss so much!) and have done a nice job with it. Dare I say "too nice" for a spot with "express" in its name?
