We had both lunch and dinner here during our stay. For lunch we shared a smashburger - the menu said it had two patties but the burger seemed to only have one...despite that, it was juicy and delicious! The fries were amazing as well. That evening my husband liked the burger so much that he ordered it again. This time it had two patties but was not as flavorful and juicy as before. The fries were still yummy. I ordered the gnocchi and really enjoyed the hint of spice in the sauce. It was a generous portion but wish it was warmer. We all started with beverages from the bar: the Old Fashioned was great! We had the brownie for dessert and were not impressed. Casey was a hoot and we had such a great experience. Not only we're the drinks delicious, but the charcuterie board was exceptional and the s'mores dessert was the perfect amount of sweetness. I got the chocolate butters infused old fashioned and it was very unique, subtle, and just enough sugar for the whiskey! We were out hiking around Big Sky and it was near dinner time and this was one of the restaurants in the main complex. It's a beautiful spot and we got to sit outside and enjoy the amazing views (we will be back in the winter!). The staff during the summer is nice and you can just feel like you are part of the great outdoors since the crowds are basically non existant in the summer here. We had a bunch of new American things. The tuna was great and the various appetizers like the nachos were ok. The drinks were good as well. We also had the ribs which were slathered in sauce. So how could they not be delicious. This is not a place for fine cuisine, but a good spot to enjoy the view and feel like you are part of the surroundings. There are not a huge number of choices during the summer at Big Sky, so this works well after a long day of hiking in that high altitude. read more

It's hard to recall the last time we spent so much money for such a disappointing meal. While the server generously offered to cover the meal, we felt it wouldn't be fair to him, as it wasn't his fault. However, it was surprising that we never saw a manager to address our concerns. What a nice surprise! We went in thinking of getting the usual stuff, but we were pleasantly surprised to find some really good entrees. All of them looked worth trying. I got probably the least delicious of them all, pappardelle with brown butter, winter squash, Parmesan and sage, almost completely unsalted. But definitely above average Italian style dish. I added salt and enjoyed it. Everybody else was raving about their food. Got a key lime pie for dessert and it was really excellent, completely forgot to take a picture, it deserved it. Great service, starting from the reservation. We called asking to get two tables (4+3) close to each other and closed to the windows, they arranged everything as we asked. (Due to covid in Montana they cannot seat 7 people at the same table right now). Service at the table was also good. Overall great experience, highly recommended. read more

Decided on this spot as it is one of few restaurants at the resort, and we all had never tried it before. Needless to say, I don't think we will return. We tried a variety of the menu, which is already pretty small, and walked away only really loving one item: the Sliders with Huckleberry sauce (pictured below). Those were delicious! However, what really disappointed me was the "Green Cabbage Slaw" on the Smoked trout tacos. It was straight up just dry cabbage mix from a salad bag- making them even more dry. I ended up having to remove it entirely. I ordered the Beatvic cocktail and it tasted nothing at all like described on the menu. The nachos were alright, but how does one mess up nachos? I don't know, maybe we ordered wrong...Overall...I'm not dying to go back, but if you need a quick bite I'd suggest the Huckleberry sliders! read more

I normally don't leave bad reviews but the food was so awful, I had to leave one. It is clear that the food is all pre-prepared as evidenced by how quickly the food came out and it's lukewarm temperature on arrival. We had all three shareable items within minutes of placing our order. Normally this would be a positive quality but in this case it was not. The positives: We were seated and served very quickly. The waitress was very kind and attentive. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. It's not their fault that the food was poor. They do their very best to make it a good experience for the diner. The food: - cheesy crab dip: the crostini were very stale. No crisp to them. Chewy and hard to consume. Every once in a while there would be a crispy edge, demonstrating that they were likely old. The crab dip was extremely fishy and tasted more like tuna salad than crab. It was lukewarm. This was inedible. - lettuce wraps: the lettuce was fresh. The coleslaw was average. The duck was flavorless and cold (unsure if that's intended or not). The sauce was the only thing that gave the duck any flavor. It was sweet and tangy but the whole dish lacked basic seasoning. Four wraps total. - sliders: the best dish of the night but merely average at best. Again the dish was lukewarm. The meat was tender but the whole thing was bland. The only positive was the toasted buns that were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. 3 sliders total. - kale salad: unfortunately this was doused with so much balsamic vinegar that I could barely eat it. It was so sour. I ate as much as I could because I hate wasting food. The goat cheese was actually tasty and helped cut some of the vinegar but not enough to make this qualify as a good dish. The kale itself was fresh and had a delightful texture. The vinegar pool though totally detracted from the whole dish. This whole meal cost us $83 before the tip. This was not a good value based on the small portion size and quality. We were still hungry after and went to the market across the way. We bought a Cobb salad from there and it was way tastier, fresher, and frankly a better value at $12 than anything we had at this restaurant. I am sorry to leave a bad review but given that people are here spending a lot on vacation and meals, I think the diner should know so they can make wise decisions with their money. read more

Some of the highlights are their salads which makes the restaurant a refreshing change after days of delicious meat eating meals elsewhere. My bf and I have traveled all over MT and WY but stayed in Big Sky for over a week, food was terrible all over but this place was one of the first places with good food. The good: Our waiter Jacob was amazing The house salad and sliders were good. The bad: Ribs were one of the worst things I've ever tasted. Legitimately inedible The inconsiderate: They were setting up a dj station for a party afterwards. We were seated by the doors leading directly outside and the people bringing in equipment opened the door (letting in gusts of cold air) no less than 20 times (counted after the 5th) often only holding a single cable. They could have taken an extra minute to take the cart they were using and go around to the main entrance but they didn't seem to care. Really poor experience read more

Big Sky Resort was packed while we were out for spring break, but we were lucky to walk up without reservations around 5:30. WS is located where the old Hummers was in the Mtn. Mall, and as comfortable as Hummers was, the open and modern vibe of WS is nice. They've done a good job with it. Get the smoked pork and greens!! It's amazing. read more
