I was visiting Ocean View, NJ in October. On my way driving home, I noticed there was no heat and the engine temperature was running too hot. I confirmed our Honda CRV antifreeze leaked out. I had to immediately bring our Honda to a local mechanic for repair. This was one of the nearest mechanics. The garage location is directly in front of the southern Garden State exit 17. The place is not so impressive. The mechanic had two vehicles on their lifts awaiting parts from NAPA. We had to wait a couple of hours before the mechanic examined our Honda. Their office or waiting area was not so clean or impressive. The mechanic confirmed the antifreeze leaked out. The mechanic explained three parts rusted and were leaking, including a metal pipe, the thermostat housing and another part. The mechanic called Honda to order the three parts. I was lucky that these parts were available from Honda. The mechanic recommended I should rent a replacement SUV for a week, since it is likely to take a week to receive the parts from Honda and complete the repair. We needed a similarly sized SUV because our CRV was loaded with luggage and other personal items. Our Honda was repaired within the seven days so I was able to return my SUV Enterprise rental within the allotted weekly rental agreement and pick up my Honda. The total cost to repair our Honda was $888. Almost three months later our Honda is running fine with heat and no antifreeze leaks thanks to Pearce Tire. If I had car problems when I visited this area I would definitely return here for service. read more

Paul was very nice but we had to call three times to ask if anyone had even looked at our car. Took 4 days to even look at it. When we told him we were paying $100 a day for a rental could you please look at it he basically hung up on us. They needed to recharge the battery but left the whole trunk ripped apart screws everywhere and not put back together. We will never use this establishment every again. We are not one to complain but we're extremely dissatisfied with this place. read more

I had a tire blow out while in Sea Isle. I brought my car here and just had them put 4 new tires on my car. Everything seemed great so far. After 3 days one of my new tires gets a blow out. The side wall bubbled out and popped. An obvious manufacturer defect. I never hit or ran over anything. I take my car back to Pearce and they refuse to help out at all. All they would say is that if it was a manufacturer defect then it would have blown out right away. THE TIRE HAD LESS THEN 5 HOURS OF DRIVE TIME. There was no damage to the rim, no scuffs or scrapes on the tire, nothing at all to indicate any sort of impact to the tire. Just simply the bubbled out sidewall with a hole in it. This is a shady business that does not stand behind their work at all. Avoid them at all cost. read more

It's been a long time since these nice folks helped a young me with my purple gremlin tire but now, they have helped my 17 year old son, 6 months driving, on 4th of july, without me to help with his car! They are very friendly and seem to do their best to accommodate the customer. I have no complaints about the technical skills of the mechanics here, they are in my experience quite skilled and knowledgeable and their labor rates are very reasonable. I do however take issue with their parts markup. My car needed 2 loaded struts replaced and I was billed 309.00 for each of them. Today I found out from the car dealership that the struts cost 118.00 each (retail). I know everybody's gotta make a living but a 250% markup on parts seems greedy to me. Also my repair bill came to $1000.00 and I never got an estimate call about the amount. I would expect with a bill that size a customer deserves a heads up call prior to completing the work. Lesson learned. read more

They may or may not know how to change tires, but DO NOT GO HERE for general service!!! As their name indicates, they are a tire business. I was new to the area and was referred to them by my landlord. Big mistake. Even though an adjuster from my insurance company approved the work, they refused to deal directly with the insurance company. They never sent the insurance company an estimate for the work and insisted that I pay out of pocket. After the fact, the insurance company paid less than 75% of the bill because Pearce over-charged for "diagnostic" fee and labor... Fortunately, I eventually found a much better garage called Rodney & Son. Live & learn... read more

Pearce Tire Repair received my towed car and repaired my flat in 2 hours. Very helpful and reasonably priced.

My son went for an oil change and was charged $182.01 for something that should not be more than $75. The business over charged for all required materials and performed work that was not approved. $12 per quart of Mobil 1 that i can purchase for $8. $45 for an oil filter ($11) and fuel additives ($2 - $13). They put additives in the fuel system, and replaced 2 "clearance" bulbs. Both not requested. When I called, I was told that I could not speak to the owner. When I explained my compliant, I was asked what I wanted and do I want the blub replacement refunded. I agreed to the refund for the bulbs and will move on, but these are shady business practices that take advantage of unknowing consumers and probably happens every day at Pearce Tire in Ocean View NJ.
