Ok, so Today I bring my car into Galloway Tire and Auto for an oil change. The same oil change I have been getting there for the past year or so. Today however, I was informed that the drain plug was stripped and they needed to replace the entire pan for $880.00. The same drain plug that they have been working with for the last year or more. Yet now, the same drain plug that was JUST tightened by them the last oil change, is now mysteriously stripped.. I'm not accusing them off deliberately stripping the plug, but it's glaringly obvious what happened. And rather than accept that, they tried to pass off THEIR mistake as happenstance, or normal wear and tear. Now, I have to take my car to the dealer to fix the problem created by Galloway Auto... Obviously, they have lost a customer, BUT, I am posting this so others can be prepared to deal with a company who's integrity may not be all that admirable. It's extremely disappointing to see this from a long time local business. I truly do hope management deals with the issue, and this isn't an ongoing issue. There are too many other good mechanics in the area for people to go to. read more

My wife took her car in to get an oil change. They called her a couple hours later and said she needed a new oil pan and it was gonna cost 600 dollars. They also said it was leaking. My wife told them she didn't want the new oil pan. I had a buddy come over and look at the oil leak and it was leaking. He tightened the bolt and the leak stopped. Seems like a douchebag way to try to get an extra 600 dollars out of a customer. Definitely never gonna take my car to these people ever again!!! read more

Very satisfied with the work on multiple occasions. But for this: 1. Sign on the door says customers must wear masks 2. But when we went back to pick up the car we were greeted by a trio of mechanics in the lobby, *none* of whom were masked. Come on guys, you're blowing it! I've taken two cars here and have been very satisfied. Both are classic cars, which may be unusual, but I have done all my own work from rebuilding the engines to installing after-market air conditioning kits. Although I can do a very good approximation of the factory alignment specs, I prefer to have a pro do it. They've done four wheel alignments on both cars, in accordance with the mid-60's factory procedures, and they did it quickly and reasonably priced. In fact, they knew enough about these cars that they wouldn't do the job unless I had the rear trailing arms previously removed....which I had done previously. Smart guys, plus they turned down business unless they were first satisfied. Sure impressed me. They have an excellent reputation among a bunch of finicky car nuts. read more

this place is very suspect. my father picked this place a few years back as his go-to repair center. on a few occassions he has come to me with bills and questions regarding services performed there, since i work in that industry, and it is apparent they are gouging and or flat out lying to him, essentially creating issues. he is an older gentleman living on a fixed income, and completely honest to boot, so it really burned me up once i found out their indiscretions. i asked around while finding him a new place and several local shops were very blunt about Galloway Tire. They had great things to say about other shops in the area, other competitors, but more often than not the consensus regarding Galloway was negative. read more

Galloway services my current vehicle as well as servicing my previous two. I have never had any trouble or felt like they were taking advantage of me. If there was ever a reason why the quoted price would change they would call me before starting the work for my approval. You won't get any surprises when picking your vehicle up. Their hourly labor rate is competitive and reasonable. I highly recommend giving them a shot next time you need service. read more

it was a snowy evening end of December 2017, I brought my car hurriedly to Galloway Auto because it was shaking and I felt my brakes were failing. The manager Jason was helpful initially and eased my concerns. Several days later, I went to pick it up, I paid for it and they told me what was wrong but all I wanted was assurance that it was safe to drive. As I got to car and turned on engine, it was still shaking. So I ran back to tell Jason and he told me that some cars do that and it may go away and call him if it continues. Couple of days later, I called him to let him know that it was still rough idling and stalling at times. He wanted to charge me more money but I felt and expressed to him that it should be a back job because I paid for it already and the rough idling was not fixed at all . I also had to remind him that I told him that before I left the premises after I just paid for it . He told me that he could put the broken piece back and refund my money. So what's wrong with that picture? Whatever they did or replaced, the "rough idling problem" that he documented on receipt was never resolved. I am a female and I do not know much about cars. I was relying on his expertise, CREDIBILITY and the receipt that he generated. I decided to bring it to another shop and I was told that they did not complete the job necessary to resolve the problem. I am taking the time to share my experience for whatever it takes. Hopefully, writing this review will raise awareness for customers who may pay for something they may not receive OR maybe help this business improve by simply doing what is JUST and necessary to fix a problem. Have had a problem w/one of my tires, every two days I've been needing to check it. Brought it in to Galloway. For a nominal fee they checked the rim, filled it w/nitrogen & told me if I continued to have problems come back. I returned 4 weeks later w/the problem continuing to occur. They reexamined the tire & corrected it for me. Keeping my fingers crossed. I might be good to go this time. Thank you Galloway Auto & Tire! read more

I have been getting my car fix with Galloway Auto Tire Services, since 1996. Their prices are very competitive. Also, if you ask to get something done that you think that might need fixing or changing, and if you don't need it (Jason, the owner) will tell you so. They are in business to make money. But they won't take you for a ride. If you don't need the service they will tell so unless you request it. I had dealt with other auto repair shops in the area. None comes close to the services and prices being performed at Galloway AutoTire Service, in Somers Point, New Jersey. They will always have my business for my car mechanical work. read more

I wish I had read these reviews before I stumbled into them. I had the same feeling they were just ripping me off for what they could get. I declined but still was ripped off for a full hour of "mechanic" time. I'll never ever go back again. I'm telling all my friends and relatives and acquaintances to tell all their friends and relatives and acquaintances. I'm going to complain to the BBB, file a written complaint with the State of New Jersey that they are listed as an emission reinspection station, and alert the State Attorney General's office. And more I won't disclose just now. btw, I went to the Galloway site, but I can see from the reviews and from the "general knowledge" that Somers Point is cut from the same cloth. read more

A week ago, I had a tire light go on in my car. I went to Galloway Tire and Auto Center in Somers Point, NJ. They fixed my tire and told me that I needed 4 new tires at a cost of $800 to $1000. Today, I took my car to our dealership for an all-points inspection that included the tires. My tires measured 2-3 levels of depth tread more than the acceptable value. The tires did not need to be replaced. Yelp seemed like the perfect place to share this. So glad that they are building a new tire place right up the street by the Shop Rite in Somers Point! read more
