    Chicken satay

Initially I was in the mood for some milk tea, so when I asked around the casino I was directed to this restaurant. The pictures they had at the front for the dish I got were what drew me in. We were greeted quickly and sat down with no wait. For a Saturday night it didn't seem too busy, but we were eating later into dinner time. The table was still a little wet from being wiped down, but nothing I'm not used to from working in restaurants. Our server was friendly and took our order in a timely manner, but where my experience started to fall apart is when I received my food. The portion size for my meal was laughable. I got a thin cut up piece of chicken, a large scoop of white rice, and not even a moderate amount of red onions and cucumbers. The only item in my plate that would justify a high price is the chicken, but the size and flavor didn't come close to warranting a $25 price tag. I will say that some of of this falls on me, since there was a picture, but I've been conditioned over years of eating out that the picture doesn't always match, so I guess I just had a little bit of hope. My Thai tea was standard at least, with a good amount of tapioca, but I would've liked less ice since it was $7. Will probably not be coming back here since I can only imagine that the rest of the menu is probably overpriced as well. I heard the buffet is worth it though, so at least I have other options next time I visit Red Hawk.

The food was good, the atmosphere was ok, but the service was abysmal. Coming in for the start of the Chinese New Year may have been a mistake, but we wanted to dine here on that evening. The interior is kind of a 'staged' Asian interior, with a combination of booths and tables throughout. We were seated quickly, given menus, but then sat for a very long time waiting for SOMEONE to come talk with us. We typically would space out our orders so it all would not come out at once, but since we waited for so long, we decided we had better order it all now or we may never see the server again. The prices are pretty darn high for basic Asian food. But, on the positive side, you do get served a large portion. For us, that was a waste as we were traveling and had no place to put "to go" boxes. The food was good but again the service really knocked out the enjoyment of the meal.

Was at the casino when we decided to try out their Asian cuisine. The restaurant itself is very beautiful. Dimly lit but not too romantic.. very clean. The service was a bit on the slow side. Took the waitress 30 minutes before taking our order and another about 20 minutes before our appetizers came out.. our dinner there took 1.5 hours for no reason. Food was mediocre. I did love the cream cheese wonton even though I wished they had a different sweet n sour sauce with it. We had the lettuce wrap, which was delicious but the lettuce was hard to take apart. I ordered the bbq pork fried rice. It was ok.. the pork was not the usual bbq pork it was just plain pork pieces. We also had the black pepper beef. The beef slices were good cuts of beef but the dish was on the sweeter side. The salt n pepper pork chops was probably my fav dish of the night besides the wontons. The pork was nicely seasoned . I would order it again.

At Red Hawk they have Pearl it's across from the buffet down the escalator by gift shop or there's an elevator. Some of the best Chinese food. The views are incredible from the window seats. Service was great and walnut shrimp and fried rice were very good. ADA accessible and great parking or valet parking at Red Hawk by hotel entrance side.

Get takeout and the food is always ready and freshly prepared. Walnut shrimp cooked just right and chicken chow fun tastes clean and always delicious. House fried rice with shrimp, beef and pork rounds it out. Best hot mustard sauce and chili oil adds to the experience.

Highly recommended asian restaurant after the Koto. Nice decorated with Chinese Theme. We came around 8- I noticed there are couple tables with groups. Not bad for a a Monday night * Their hot n sour soup is the best one I can find so far around Folsom n South Sac area. * Peking Duck is perfect crispy skin , well done seasoning, tender juicy meat. Goes well with green onion and sweet hoisin sauce. I usually take a little bit of everything and stuff in the bun. ( forgot to take pic, next time I will update it ) * Pork chop with fish sauce : new item on extended menu. We like the pork chop a lot. Somehow the sauce is just fish sauce with some lime juice I can tell. 1/5 for the sauce : Sorry . Good attentive service. Only one down thing is they do not have soup for togo. That reason why we have to dine in everytime to enjoy the hot soup. Worth for a try if you are too tired for buffet. Checkout their big food menu. I will skip on their dessert - tried all 3 flavors. It's just fine. Not so impressive - simply it's just sweet flavored ice cream.

Sticky Rice Wrapped in Lotus Leaf: Stuffed with pork and mushrooms ($7)

Date: Sunday, June 30th, 2024 Time: around 1:15pm Meal: Lunch Takeout Feeding: 4 people *Sticky Rice Wrapped in Lotus Leaf: Stuffed with pork and mushrooms ($7) *Singapore Style Vermicelli: Curry rice noodles stir-fried with bbq pork, shrimp, eggs, bell peppers and bean sprouts ($15) The hubby and I were in Tahoe and my parents were coming up to join us. Every time they head up, they make a stop at Red Hawk. (Apparently, it's for the bathroom break, but I think they just want to gamble. Lol!) This time they brought a few items to add to our lunch. (They also made a bunch of stuff.) The noodles were pretty good. Lots of veggies and meat. Tho I do prefer my singapore noodles with more curry flavor. I'd stay away from the lo mai gai / sticky rice. It's not really stuffed with anything. More like a portion of lo mai fan wrapped in a leaf. I didn't see much pork, but there was a good amount of dried shrimp. Also, these were TINY. You could fit like 4 in a small takeaway container. I liked the noods, not really the sticky rice. Will average out to 3 stars. REVIEW #3479

We've dined at Pearl Asian Cuisine @ Red Hawk Casino several times. The ambiance is elegant yet casual. There are cozy booths and plenty of tables for small and large parties. The wait staff don uniforms and provide attentive, friendly service - which is practically non-existent at many casual restaurants. The food has been outstanding at every visit. We've tried their salt and pepper squid, beef chow fun, mapo tofu, and Aberdeen style fish. The salt and pepper squid is deep-fried goodness. And the mapo tofu is slightly spicy and delicious. We keep coming back for the beef chow fun (rice noodles with a great balance of flavor and wok breath) and the Aberdeen style fish (lightly breaded fish fillets with dried black beans, garlic, jalapeños, and red/green bell peppers). Both dishes are so satisfying!

This is the only restaurant I'd eat at if not the buffet when coming to Redhawk casino. The Peking duck is a must have and the fried crab legs and chicken chow mein are great options as well. Servers are quick and attentive.

The hottest chili oil I've ever had in my life, you could breathe fire after this one

The restaurant is beautiful and got seated quickly. I feel the server could've been more patient but ran off immediately after we ordered before I could finish that I wanted something else. But more importantly, she never followed up after we received our food for me to ever order it. It's possible this waitress could've been tending to the whole restaurant which filled up as we ate. We order Singapore noodles and happy hour $5 shu mai. The shu mai was the best we ever had, the Singapore were a bit bland but I made the mistake of putting their chili oil all over it as I do at other restaurants and it was so hot I felt I could breathe fire overall, I would def come back here but now caution myself on the chili oil in moderation

We arrived a few minutes after 3 pm, when the restaurant opens for dinner. As you can imagine, we were a large group who were all hungry and ready to eat. We decided to go with the family dinner (special B) option that gives you the choice to select about a dozen menu items to share family style. This option also comes with soup, pork fried rice, egg rolls and fried shrimp for $18.50 a person. The ambience was quiet and similar to many other Chinese restaurants. They have booths and tables for smaller parties and larger rounded tables with a Lazy Susan for larger groups. The service was great. I was surprised how quickly all of the food came out. One plate after another, and suddenly the table was packed with hot food ready to eat. Everyone working was friendly and attentive, filling our cups with water, providing extra napkins, and checking on us frequently if we needed anything else. Oh, and the food was so good. I particularly loved the fried rice, broccoli beef, orange chicken, and Mongolian beef. To be honest, all of the food was delicious, but those stood out to me from the other plates we ordered. There was so much food that we couldn't eat everything, so we had plenty of takeout boxes to take food home. For the price of the family dinner options, you can't go wrong with a great price and the amount of food you get. It's very much worth it. If you are with a large group of friends and find yourself in Cameron Park, I highly recommend coming to China City to eat. You won't be disappointed. It's a hidden gem tucked away in a strip mall off of Highway 50.
