This place is awesome! I mean look at the inside of the restaurant in the picture! A real deal experience every time we are in town this is a MUST! Service is great no complaints, I highly recommend if you are a big group this place you will enjoy tasting different plates that can be shared. Great place

Had a lovely evening at Fats last night. Great atmosphere. Fab service by Josh at the bar. Not only did he create fab margarita, he also made a great non alcoholic refreshing and delicious drinks topped with mint and blackberry. Took his reco on the chicken lettuce wraps with plum sauce. So tasty and very nice portion. Along with potstickers. They have extensive food menu but this was perfect for the appetite.

Ambiance is gorgeous inside here. Their service is especially great but we had experienced change of shift so we may have been forgotten somewhat? Food was Americanized Chinese & tasty. If you want true Chinese food you might try a different restaurant. Bc my wife had somewhat limited food selections she had to exclude some food choices so at times the dish appeared somewhat empty. It's very apparent so maybe make a different selection or even a different restaurant. My salad was just ok nothing to write home about. Would we return? Maybe...it is a beautiful restaurant inside! Bc we were there for happy hour it got crowded in the bar area FAST!!! So plan ahead or you might have a quite a wait for your table.

We go to Fats weekly (usually Fat Tuesday happy hour) the tables at the bar fill up quickly. Tonight we tried 2 new dishes. The tempura asparagus was amazing with a delicious aioli. The eggplant chicken dish was quite tasty with an amazing sauce. As always our servers & genius bartenders Ann & Sean made our drinks perfectly & extra delicious. They are both so helpful, knowledgeable and friendly! Cheers.

We took the MIL to Fats for a pre-birthday dinner since hers is on Thanksgiving this year. This restaurant has been a staple in Folsom for a long time, sadly we haven't been here in ages. Which gave a perfect opportunity for this review. There is ample parking. Inside is decorated beautifully and plenty of booths and tables to accommodate large and small parties. They also have a bar area with televisions for sports fans. Our server was friendly and very efficient. Bring an empty belly because Fats serves family style and their portions are generous. We dined on won ton soup, garlic noodles, orange chicken, and pork fried rice. They even celebrated my MIL's birthday with a complimentary slice of their famous banana cream pie to her delight. Thank goodness for their to go boxes! If you are looking for a delicious meal in a lovely setting Fats will hit a home-run for you!

Came here on a Sunday for lunch and not busy at all so we were seated quickly. Our waitress informed us they do family style with the plates since it was our first time here. We ordered four dishes and did have some leftover to take home but I was expecting a lot bigger dishes. I ordered the honey walnut shrimp and beef chow fun. The shrimp was really good! I liked the crisp from the lightly fried batter and the amount of sauce was good. The beef chow fun was too salty for my liking. My sister ordered the Kung pao shrimp and bulgogi lo mein but I was too full to try her food. I also got a slice of banana cream pie to go since Fats is known for their pie. I thought the pie was okay. Definitely on the pricier side. Service was good though. Restaurant is dimly lit but lots of seating and tables where you could have a large gathering here.

First time coming to Fats - you walk in the place is stunning inside! We had the pad Thai so flavorful and not too heavy. The orange chicken was crispy, tangy, and just the right amount of sweet with a kick! . And the crab rangoon...Absolute perfection--crispy outside with a creamy, flavorful filling. Service was friendly, attentive and did not feel rushed.

Such a wonderful experience. I went here with my husband and grandmother and we had a great time. We each got something off their Tuesday menu where everything is $17 and the portions were perfect. I got a sour watermelon margarita and it was so delicious I just had to get two. The emperors garden is a delicious meal for vegetarians as it offers a wide range of vegetables. You can also add tofu, which was cooked perfectly! Highly recommend Fats for anyone looking for something more upscale and intimate. It was delicious, service was phenomenal, and we will definitely be back.

Great service at the bar from master mixologist Dan. Very personable and professional. I had the Louie shrimp salad soooo good. Lots of shrimp and wonderful Louie dressing. This is a very comfortable spot not too loud but a happy place to be in. When in town this is it! See you here

It was good but the pepper had a hint of burnt so it gave a bitter taste to the dish. - Salt & Pepper Calamari: Not bad but not the best. It was fresh but may have been overcooked or cooked too fast since it was a little tough. - Salt & Pepper Shrimp: Flavorful and was better than the calamari. Flour coating was not too thick so it was enjoyable. - Beef & Broccoli: Broccoli were cooked well. They had a nice crunch. The dish was saucey but was not as flavorful as I expected. Also the sauce was not as thick as well. It was more running. - Fried Rice: It was good but not something to rave about. - Chicken Chow Mein: The kids loved the chow mein. It was better than expected. It had a light flavor that made the dish taste delicious. The noodles were not chewy, tough, or too soft. It was also not lathered in oil. As for the chicken pieces, they were tender and easy to chew. Service: Very friendly and attentive. They also welcoming and observant. That made things easy for us so we didn't have to ask for anything.

SoCal and the Bay Area are where it's at for Asian food... and Vancouver!! Okay, sorry, I'm rambling now. Anyways, I'm glad I ventured a little farther out to Folsom to grab some delicious food. Their orange chicken is super flavorful, and I loved that they used real oranges. The Kung Pao chicken is amazing--they include a variety of veggies and squash, which I loved. The beef chow mein was on point as well. The only reason for the 4 stars is that the chow mein was a little too soft (though the flavor was there), and the price felt a bit steep for the portion size. Three orders for $60--eeep! I miss the good ol' days when a whole plate was filled to the rim and overflowing from the to-go box for $12-$15, but it is what it is. Anyways, if you've got the dough, I'd spend it here. Have a great day!

The menu also has wonton soup, noodles, soup dumplings, fried spring rolls, crab rangoons, cucumber salad (Asian style), Chinese egg custards, bbq pork buns, sesame red bean paste fried balls,, stir fry veggies, taro steamed buns, and some other items. I've tried the dumplings boiled, steamed, and pan fried. The boiled ones are slippery and best when I'm in the mood to have them swirled in a sauce like hot chili oil. Streamed ones have a slight chew to the dumpling exterior than the boiled or fried dumplings. But doesn't take away from the taste. Pan fried is good when you want a crispier exterior and slight crunch. Whatever way you order 'em... it's all good! The egg custards, sesame balls, and crab rangoons are classic and my other go tos. I enjoy the diversity of the menu. Gotta confess, in Folsom there is not a lot of these good authentic dumpling places. Plus throw in some dim sum items...score! Is it Michelin star, no.
