We just discovered Pearl Fever Tea House sometime during the summer last year and after introducing a friend of ours to it, she seems to be a fan of them now. When we met up with her in Coquitlam and talked about going for bubble tea, she suggested Pearl Fever and so that's where we went.  Last time we went, it was during a BOGO promotion. Since there was no promotion this time, I had a closer look at their regular menu this time. Their offerings include: milk teas, green & black teas, specialty drinks, fruit smoothies, milky smoothies and flavoured milks.  There is also a "Create Your Own Smoothie" option where you can pick 2 flavours from a list of flavors. After picking your two flavours the next step is to choose a base from the following options: water, green tea, black tea, milk tea, whole milk, oat milk, soy milk, almond milk, cream  You can then customize your drink with different Blend Ins (eg. Oreo) or Shots (eg.Honey). Our daughter decided to try this "Create Your Own Smoothie" option. She chose Peach and Mango as her two flavor, water as her base, and lychee jelly as a topping. She loved it.  Our friend chose Tofu Pudding and I chose Honey Peach Soda. I have been really into brown sugar milk the last few years so rarely venture away from that. This visit I decided to get the fresh taro smoothie with pearls with no customizing (usually I go half sweet at other places) as taro isn't really that sweet. The drink was reeeeally tasty. The consistency and sweetness was good. It want to starchy at all and the taro had a nice flavour. It will be my go to drink at pearl fever now. The only thing is, the pearls aren't sweet. Oddly enough, Grayson and I had never been to pearl fever for bubble tea before but here we were for tofu pudding. We ordered it and they asked if we wanted to have it with any toppings. Grayson chose to get it with pearls and I got it with red bean. We both thought it would enhance the tofu pudding experience but the toppings made it far too sweet. We found it odd that the tofu pudding was served in a large hot cup instead of a bowl and the spoons it came with were far too small toe at with! The tofu pudding was also in very small pieces which made it difficult to eat. Not the best dessert experience we've had but it definitely satisfied our cravings....for now. read more

The bubble tea absolutely delicious however don't go in the morning as we walked in shortly after opening and were told that pearl fever didn't have any pearls available for another half hr or more. To me that is bad service. If your store is a bubble tea place you need to have staff there in enough time to have your ingredients ready. We were very disappointed. No pearls at a pearl fever! I would love to give Pearl Fever a higher rating... but their drinks doesn't seem to consistent. A lot of people are getting more and more sugar conscious these days, and would like to half their doses of sweets. When you ask for half the sugar/honey/or syrup.. its never the same. Sometimes its GREAT, often times.. it comes out rather bland, sometimes still too sweet. Don't order the cakes. They have been sitting in the display or their freezer for God knows how long. Bbtea it up! Hungry? You can get pretty filled with some of their icecream bbteas! and they are uber yummy: UFO (coffee and icecream flavor is great), Macha Icecream Smoothie. Originals are great: Honey Green Milk Tea. Want a different sour twist? Get the Yogurt Green Tea :) Pearls are always yummy, sweet and chewy! One of my favorite places to get the "pearls" Other than the inconsistency, and the neverending price inflation .. its a great place to grab bbtea! Ok where to begin? Well first off this place USED to be good but has since gone down hill big time. The manager is rude and her customer service skills are non-existent. She points the finger at the owner and says it's his policy but a real manager should be able to keep customers happy and she doesn't understand the importance of that to their businesses. Also, when it comes to payment these guys won't let you use your credit card under $10. LIKE ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!!! For a business that has so many stores now, they actually make you load money on their app if you don't have another payment method. The guy behind me just left in frustration, I gave in to the $10 charge but once I spend it all I'm never going back for the reason this is the lamest most dinosaur thing this business could do. Their tea used to be good but they keep raising their prices as they open new stores yet cut the quantity of pearls and jellies while getting richer in their pockets. Very each time, so uncool, with so many options now in town you're better off supporting businesses that care about their customers not lining their pockets. read more

My favorite milk tea shop so far. I ordered a matcha milk tea(almond milk) with pearls, real taro and red beans for $7. 05. Pretty high price, but the product worths it. The taro is a bit too sweet for me, but the other add-ins are good sweetness. Pearls are not so chewy, so I might not add it in next time.What I love the place most is I can have almond milk or soy milk instead of milk powder, although it might cost me more. Good experience . It will be perfect if the price can be a bit lower. read more

Pearl Fever is THE best bubble tea place in Coquitlam... well there actually isn't a lot to choose from in the area, but they do make good bubble tea none the less. I actually used to come here a lot during my younger years before they expanded and opened up so many new locations. All their bubble teas are really good, but I do have a few favourites: the UFO with Pudding and their mango ice cream smoothie. The UFO with pudding was introduced to me by a former boss of mine (I used to work at a restaurant nearby, hence the many times I`ve been here). This is basically espresso with vanilla ice cream on top and mixed with pudding bits at the bottom... sounds weird, but its delicious. The mango ice-cream smoothie is also amazing... it just so happens that my favourite fruit is mango and I love ice-cream, so what a killer combination ;) They also have decent pearls here with the perfect amount of chewiness. For those who like to watch their weight, you can ask for your drink to be customized with more or less sugar, pick what type of milk you want, or ask for half pearls. I definitely recommend Pearl Fever if you are in Coquitlam! read more

I went around lunch time and it wasn't very busy. Just had two other customers. I ordered the Black Twist which is a coffee and oreo smoothie. Yummmmmm! I loved it. I got it with pearls (50c extra). The coffee taste wasn't overpowering. Just had the right amount of sweetness as well. I definitely will be coming back. Prices are fine i think. :) Can't wait to try their other drinks. read more

This seems a very popular bubble tea house. Every time I ordered togo at Hon's, I saw line long line. I assume it must be good and would give it a try. I got a chance with my 2 nieces and orders few different bubbles tea drink. I kind of liked it as it was not too sweet. However my nieces complained that the bubbles tea were not made from bubbles tea machine instead it was handshake manually. Besides they said they tasted a bit different than regular bubbles tea house . Since I am not expert in drinking bubble tea, I will take their words. read more

I have lived in the area for a couple of years now and I can't believe I've never been to Pearl Fever. I came in in the afternoon and there were only 2 women on their laptops and sipping their drinks by the window table. It's not a very big place but the place is cozy with only a few tables and a couch with seemingly comfy chairs. My order was taken right away by a friendly and polite guy and although I asked for a couple of additions, the price was still reasonable. My order came within a few minutes. I ordered the red bean slushie with ice cream and pearls. It was creamy but not too sweet and there was plenty of red beans. There were no rogue ice pellets as the ice was crushed well. There was also plenty of the chewy pearls except I had to mix my drink real well as the bottom was warm perhaps because the pearls were just cooked recently. I love that this place is nearby next time I have another craving for bubble tea. read more

This place has been here ever since I was in high school, or even earlier. So that makes this place over a decade old. The fact they now have numerous tea houses across Vancouver makes this a very successful business. I recently came back after a decade hiatus as I am not a big bubble tea drinker as it is a bit too sweet. My wife likes this place for the fact they use REAL taro, instead of powder. This makes it a lot more natural vs drinking a concoction of different mixes/chemicals/flavourings. So when I got there, they didnt have any pearls ready, so I had to wait 20 minutes. Which is fine, I wasn't in a rush. I got the drink, it looked good. They were able to split 1 drink into 2 for 50 cents I believe. Which isn't bad considering they have to push out cost of the new cup and I think they add a bit more to make both equal parts. My initial taste was yeah this is real taro, (i did watch them put the taro in there too) but then I get a big sugary taste. A bit overwhelming to the point where I kinda didn't want to drink it anymore. I am not a big sweets person so maybe that's why. I'd like to see this chain have the options of using less sugar like some other tea houses do now. Giving the option of 0%, 50%, 100% or higher. However, I think they might presoak the taro in sugar. I am not sure. Regardless, I may come back for something else next time. OH, another plus is they have nutritional information. Considering I am a health and fitness nut, this makes this bubble tea shop a friendly one to go to. read more

Oddly enough this is one of the only bubble tea establishments that I've ever been to where Caucasian customers outnumber Asian clients on a consistent basis. That said, the bubble teas here are great and I've introduced a number of my Caucasian colleagues to this location and they are hooked on honey milk tea. The BEST Bubble tea place ever! Silly So Californians call it "boba" too i guess. Anywho, this is the original and real deal right here. My first experience with bubble tea was at Henderson Place, Sammiis? I think. Then there's the other place in the Coquitlam mall too but Pearl Fever beats all! It's about $4.50? ish per drink but I haven't been there in a while so this isn't a guarantee. For over $5 a drink, there better be alcohol in it. I get what people are saying, Pearl Fever has consistently high quality bubble tea. And I agree, the pearls always taste right, and they have a lot of fruit smoothie choices other places don't have. Their competitors keep the bubble tea at around $3.5-4.50. And I get it, $1 more isn't a big deal. But if I'm given the choice between this place, or Little Tea House, I'm choosing the latter because it isn't overpriced. I drink a ridiculous amount of bubble tea. Aside from the steeped tea at Timmy Ho's, it's probably the non-alcoholic drink I consume the most so this adds up. I don't ever sit in a bubble tea store to hangout anyways, so how nicely decorated these places are doesn't mean anything to me. I'm not up for paying extra for my bubble tea because their are cool chairs there. I know most people care about this as they like hanging out in cafes, but again, I'm not a bar, I don't plan to pass out on the sofa there or anything. Based on principle, if I'm going to pay over $5 for a drink, I just feel like there has to be rum or vodka in it. Otherwise I feel they're pricing too high. read more

Always come to Pearl Fever when I'm craving some bubble tea. There's no place that's as consistent as this place. They have a wide variety of teas, smoothies and flavours that will have your taste buds going crazy. Only downside for me is there is a $10 minimum for credit card, so I usually end up buying a $30 giftcard as they give you your first drink free. read more

Bubble tea.... yummmmm... my mouth is watering as I write this review! I don't know how natural the ingredients are (I have a feeling they are 100%artificial - as opposed to some stores like the one in Henderson that used to give you fresh fruits (even papaya!) in your bubble tea when they first opened)... nonetheless, the smoothies/bubble tea at Pearl Fever are super yummy! I like both hot and cold. Taro is my favorite hot drink. For cold - I like strawberry and pina colada! Pearl Fever is great bubble tea BUT the service is bad they take too long time to make the bubble tea even if you order online you still have to wait 30 min on the top 15 min that the app says. I have ordered 4 times and it takes then 45 min to get my orders. When asking the worker they were rude and could not answer my question. read more

Best bubble tea/boba :D Since I got hooked on to bubble tea 10+ years ago, I've done my share of bubble tea tour and probably been to over 100 bubble tea places. This is my favorite and best out of all of them Either the bubbles are not made right, or the smoothie/slush itself is crappy at most places (or both in certain cases) This place gets everything right ! :D it's in a somewhat inconvenient location but it's worth the extra few minutes of drive to go here ! Also, they make the best green tea smoothie (matcha ice cream) ever - so much better than the one @ Starbucks .. . Even if you are not a bubble tea fan, go here just for the smoothies. FAVORITE bubble tea place!! I always get "honey milk green tea with pearls" and omg this place makes the best mill tea. I haven't tried any other drink other than milk tea, but im sure everything is good. Every one who work there are very nice and friendly:) Plus it's a really cute cafe, to just hang out. It is bit more expensive than other bubble tea places, but totally worth it. Decent bubble tea place. About $1 more than average bubble tea places (about $6 per person). Tapioca quality is excellent. Where they lack severely, is the lack of fresh fruit choices. Also not enough selection of powders either. They are open late which is a positive, but I am hesitant to recommend, unless they significantly increase their fresh fruit offerings. Used to come here when I was younger and I still gravitate to this place. The drinks are super delicious and the selection can be dizzying. My favourite will always be the UFO with pearls or pudding or BOTH! First drink I ever ordered here was the Green Tea with pearls. Not Matcha with ice cream in it as is most commonly ordered. It was so simple yet so delicious. I still crave it every now and then. UFO though....HEAVEN. Price of the drinks are rather expensive now, but I still purchase drinks here more than any other bubble tea establishment. The staff are super patient and lots of fun to chat with. They take the time to engage their customers in conversation while they wait for their drinks to be made. Their work area is clean too. Speedy service as well. Best bubble tea cafe.
