I've visited this shop a few times because they offer a variety of donuts with fancy and cute presentations, using unique ingredients. This time, I stopped by to try their limited-edition item for the Hot Chocolate Festival. What I got #060 Twice the Black Forest A rich hot chocolate made with steamed milk and Callebaut chocolate ganache, infused with dark cherry and cherry syrup. It's topped with cherry-infused whipped cream, chocolate shavings, and a cherry on top. Served with a yeast brioche doughnut filled with cherry compote and whipped cream, dipped in dark chocolate ganache, and topped with a whipped cream and a cherry on top. I could taste a subtle cherry flavor in the hot chocolate, it was easy to drink. The brioche donut was the standout item--the cherry compote filling was a nice surprise, and the dough was lighter than I expected, which I really liked. The dipped chocolate ganache paired good with the dough. Of course, the presentation was very cute! This place is always busy on weekends. It has a nice and cozy ambiance, and the staff were very friendly. I will definitely visit again! read more

This is always a tasty stop & high on my list when in the area. Be it for their great selection of hot drinks, the many doughnuts flavours to choose from or both. One of my more recent visits were during the hot chocolate festival. They not only were serving up a extremely deluxe hot chocolate with cookie dough in the clouds but also a doughnut specially paired for the featured hot chocolate. Personally, I'm more of a real milk/dairy person and gluten doesn't give me issues. I however have a lot of friends with allergy restrictions. Thus me selecting this place for a visit with my friend. As specifically has lactose sensitivities but loves a good excuse for hot chocolate. So we were really happy that she could get a special hot chocolate too & a paired with what looked like another beautiful doughnut but created in mind for those with allergies. Let's just say the little piece she insisted I try was heavenly! Anyone that can make a doughnut that accommodates a large range of allergies taste that good is a magic baker in my mind. Granted the flavour of black forest cake was an excellent choice for it too. This place is always buzzing & good luck snagging a table to sit (inside or outside) but it's obvious how much people really enjoy their doughnuts in this area. Same goes for parking availability. Walk, bike or bus if you can. As parking is extremely limited. More of a challenge than snagging a table, as there's only one entrance-exit. However, this place is literally a walk/roll-in for those looking to find an accessible place to enjoy. No steps as barriers. Even their tables are set back far enough for a wheelchair to roll fully in. Most of their seats are at tables that you could get a wheelchair or a shorter walker under. Their is one handicap stall is very close to the doughnut shop door. However, be sure you're very skilled at getting into a tight parking lot & even more so backing out of a tight parking lot. I also suspect it's not just the amazing doughnuts that keeps people coming back or their great cups tasty hot liquid but the quality of customer service & how they go the extra mile here. On my last visit in Coquitlam, I was determined to snag another amazing hot coco & doughnut pairing. I really do love a good hot chocolate & their doughnuts hold up well on a drive. I called towards the end of the day & was assured there would be one held for me. Being in a different Airbnb, I totally underestimated the length of drive & got there 5 minutes to closing. I felt awful for even showing up at that late of time & I told the ladies that I assumed they had the drink machines cleaned up already, I want ask for a hot coco & offered to pay for the special doughnut (if it was even still there). However, not only did I get my wonderful doughnut to enjoy but I was told that I could still get the featured hot chocolate that I was absolutely craving too! My migraine foggy eyes couldn't believe my luck. I could be wrong but I think from the article I read earlier that month, it was the owner herself that served me at the end of the day too. Doughnut Love, definitely gave me love - through each & every bite! Took advantage of my trip to Coquitlam & did a stopover here along the way & it sure was worth it. Greated warmly by a lovely lady when I walked in, I felt welcomed & knew I came to the right place for donuts. The presentation case was spot on & I immediately wanted all of em! Gimme, gimme, gimme! The texture of the donuts is cake like & easy to chew - most definitely a gourmet donut for sure - you can tell by the look of each hand made high quality style of donut before your eyes. I got the following - Hibiscus Lemon, Homer, Magic Bar, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough & Strawberry Crumble. I also picked up a tiny bag of bite size donuts - Lemon, Strawberry & Vanilla Glaze. Heads up alert - the donut menu changes frequently so do check online for the current flavours on sale before heading over. Certain flavours will sell out over others due to popularity, so it's best to pop in as early (Tues - Fri opens at 6am / Sat + Sun opens at 7am) as possible to get the best selection. It's not uncommon for DL to sell out of donuts & so when I got here at 2pm on Saturday, I freaked out in joy seeing a small variety of donuts were still available. Was a customer prior to our school fundraiser for Doughnut Love gift cards, but that's a good reason to come back! Always very friendly service and yummy doughnuts although some better than others. Came here specially today for the last day of the June menu - strawberry cream was very nice! Menu changes as of Wednesday (since they are closed Monday and Tuesdays until Fall). Still my favourite is the Apple Fritter which is luckily a menu staple! read more

Finally had a chance to try this place after hearing all about the hype. Parking here is plentful in the strip mall lot. Their donuts are the cake style ones. A bit on the sweet side, but I'm sure some will appreciate it. To be honest, these donuts are best shared, as there are so many different flavours. Everything seemed fresh. Yummy donuts here. Heard so much about it but didn't get to try until hot chocolate festival. I had the Venezia doughnut love which was a tiramisu hot chocolate with a mini tiramisu doughnut. So good. Description from website: 58 - VENEZIA DOUGHNUT LOVE* Available January 13 - February 14, 2024, while supplies last Tiramisu hot chocolate made with Callebaut milk chocolate callets melted with steamed milk, topped with an espresso mascarpone whip and sprinkled with cocoa powder. Served with a Mini Tiramisu doughnut: brioche doughnut filled with espresso mascarpone mousse, dipped in Kahlua glaze and sprinkled with cocoa powder. I also got a raspberry cheesecake donut and a pistachio donut for my friend. Both were delicious. I came back a couple of months when I was in the area and bought more donuts to share with friends. I got the last of the seasonal donuts for March (lemon meringue and carrot cake) , chocolate ganache dip and chocolate Oreo peanut butter drizzle. I liked how the donuts were never overly sweet and the lemon meringue had a nice tartness in the cream inside the donut. This is one place I will try to pop in whenever I'm in the area. I'm not sure if it's a good or bad thing I don't live so close to it. P.S: I also bought candles here but the wick didn't burn well so it basically flickered and died. They are from Moody Candles Co. Don't recommend it. I did inform the staff to let the owner know but who knows if the formula or the making of candles will change. So sad as they do smell good. My favorite doughnut spot in the tri-cities. The dough is soft and flavors are on point. The staff is attentive and kind. Weekends are busier but they have a good supply of doughnuts and a great variety! They do have seating inside and nice artwork on the walls too. Love going here after a run. The long John is my fave here. But my partner prefers the more specialty doughnuts. They have it all here! read more

Super cute doughnut shop with a great coffee bar as well! I love that there are tons of rotating donut flavors each month so there's always something to keep me coming back. I tried the macadamia nut latte and I'm always so happy when a café has a macadamia option, it's so nutty and a great reprieve from my usual hazelnut. The staff is lovely and wonderful. What a cute little find as we were waiting for lacrosse games to start. Doughnuts were a little on the dry side but beautiful and fun flavors. This place is absolutely a hidden gem in Coquitlam! I'm not a huge fan of doughnuts however I love this place for doughnuts. They have great service, friendly, and cheerful! (Their doughnuts are handcrafted and every month comes out different varieties of flavoured doughnuts). Am I glad I finally got myself out of bed early in the weekend in time to grab these goodies from Doughnut Love. The have been open for a couple months now but have been selling out daily!! Which was the exact reason why I had to make sure I'm there bright and early at 8:00 am before the selections are gone. They have quite a variety and it was a difficult choice especially with the limit of 6 max on weekends currently. Ended up with 2xS'mores + Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough + Cherry Pie + Salted Caramel + Raspberry Glaze. The S'mores are a sweet tooth face with creamy marshmallow inside and the flavour definitely screams campfire S'mores. The salted caramel was a favorite of mine so far with the crispy salted caramel glaze on top! It's unreal how good it is! Have to make a stop again soon to try out the upcoming flavors! So this wad my first time trying any doughnut love and I likes it. I really liked the options. That day, I went for the most expensive doughnut ($5), which was the cheesecake doughnut. It had a very light cream cheese filling, raspberry topping in the center with a graham cracker crust. It was not dense, which I really liked. I also had a coffee with cream, which was made well, too. The location is tiny, so there isn't much seating. There are a few seats outside as well. The staff is friendly and professional. Absolutely love this place! I've pre ordered doughnuts from here twice before. Their online ordering system is super easy to use and I love how they have different flavours. The other thing I'm fond of is I love how they have GF/vegan friendly flavours as well. I do have to say that each time I've tried their doughnuts, the doughnuts have tasted really delicious and fresh. The flavours are not over powering... just perfect amount of sweetness and flavouring to each one. So happy we have a unique and small business to support in the area. Ambiance: 4.5/5 Food: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Donuts are never my go-to dessert but I really like this spot! They have tons of different flavours to choose from and change up their menu every month. As well, they have GF and vegan options if you're looking for pastries with a dietary restriction. The service has always been super nice and efficient when I've gone which is lovely. As for the donuts, I've tried a bunch of different flavours and while none were bad, I will definitely say that some flavours are better than others. The dough itself isn't that sweet so if you have a sweet tooth I would definitely get one with a lot of glaze on it! Some of my favourites have been a salted caramel one and the homer. I also think they're priced super well compared to other baked goods! I will say that they're super popular and have a tendency to sell out but they do bake more throughout the day so I would check their Instagram before popping over to make sure they're not sold out before you go! read more

Sometimes a doughnut is exactly what the "doctor" ordered. Thank goodness for Doughnut Love and their suburban location in Coquitlam. I can admit that most doughnuts are too sweet for me, but that's not a problem with the handcrafted delights served up here. You'll want to check out their website to check out their monthly menu and keep up to date on their social feed to ensure you don't miss out. On a couple occasions I showed up to sold out signs and my heart almost broke. We chose to pick up a couple lattes and a four pack of doughnuts. Two honey glaze, a salted caramel, and an apple crumble. The apple crumble was perfection. The doughnut itself was on the more dense side and got all it's sweetness from the apples and crumble. I look forward to making it my go-to spot of doughnuts in the burbs! read more

Got some love for doughnut Love. I've waited until the hype died down a bit, its been on my list for some time. I've had numerous people tell me it usually sales out within hours during its soft opening. Or would mot have any options. I work in Coquitlam, got off early one Friday decided to check it out. Parking lot was full, parked across the street and walked over. It's part of a small strip mall beside a gas station. Nice looking cafe. Still had options at 1pm to my surprise. The workers were very friendly, took the time to describe all doughnuts. I ended up getting 4, carrot cake, cookies and cream, salted caramel, and red velvet. I was also convinced to grab a coffee also local Republic. Doughnuts were good, Im usually more a lighter yeasty type donuts, these were more cake type, heavier. Doughnuts were around $3.75 each. Overall, it was good. I love seeing new cafes pop up in this neck of the woods. read more

New donut shop in Coquitlam that just opened on June 16th, 2021. I am excited to try but the location is just far from our place. The shop opened at 7am on the weekend and we arrived around 10am today. Long lineup and waited for almost half hour to get into the shop. I saw people walked out with boxes of donuts and thought I might be 'lucky' enough to get a box today... I got nothing but only apple fritter left, so yes! 2 of them please. Apple fritter ($3.75) was fresh made and still warm. It is huge which is bigger than my hand. I also got the large americano to pair with it. The apple fritter was so good. The dough was crunchy outside and fluffy inside. I ate the whole apple fritter without compliant a word. The sweetness was right and I think it's not overly sweet. (But you have to like the sweets; otherwise sure it's swee...) For just reviewing the apple fritter I have to deduct one star and only give 4 stars...it's jut not enough for me to give them 5 stars because I need a box.... We will come back. ;) read more

You want to get their early apparently cause they sell out of things fast. I did manage to get there on a Saturday with my sister before 2 pm and I did get what I wanted. Donuts are around the $3 mark and some change, therefore, just got one, gingerbread that tasted really cook. crispy on the outside and reminds me for the holidays. I know this place has huge hype right now and that people have been having trouble getting donuts. I highly suggest pre-ordering as that way, you can guarantee getting donuts and not have to wait in line. Hence, I pre-ordered 6 donuts; I did have to wait 2 weeks for their next available date, but that's understandable seeing as how popular it is. They have great customer service and all you have to do is email them and tell them what donuts you want. They let you know when the next available date is and you tell them what time you want to pick them up. I found the whole process super simple and got the donuts I wanted without having to wait in line (note: if you pre-order and there's a line outside, you can bypass the line and just go inside). I ordered all the July specials: Apple Fritter, S'mores, Cherry Pie, Coconut Cake Old Fashioned, Lemon Poppyseed Old Fashioned, and Chocolate Chip Old Fashioned. They were all excellent and I especially liked the Cherry Pie donut as it somehow managed to emulate the flakiness of a pie. I don't usually like S'mores, but I rather liked the marshmallow filling of this one too. All in all, the donuts were great and I'd definitely order again to try their rotating monthly specials. We stop in occasionally for our donut fix. Donuts are heavenly. Choices change frequently. We bought and apple fritter on our last visit. It's the absolute BEST Apple fritter I've eaten. They make them with slices of Granny Smith apples. Originally, we were just there to pick donuts to enjoy with a Starbucks latte. We decided to give them a try. Their espresso drinks is definitely just as good as their donuts. In future, our new plan moving forward is to order heavenly donuts and an espresso to enjoy on their patio. If you have a craving for donuts, this is the place to come to get your fix! read more

Really enjoy this place! Early on there were issues with availability but let's all remember that every new business needs some time to settle in! With that being said I'm happy to report there is availability up until closing for doughnuts and the roster changes every month so I really enjoy that there's always a variety. I didnt like waiting at 6 am to find few choices, long line ups and when I did eat the one yeast doughnut it wasn't set and I didn't like the dough. Today my mother wanted to go and see. I ordered an assortment and got many doubles the chocolate dip and some Cookie one twice. In the box the donuts are beautiful. It was such a disappointment. They were dry and lacking flavour. This was really expensive for what I got. Some suggestions for IMO Pre-order let people select the donuts they want. Make more cake donuts. It literally tastes like dough with some icing. Chocolate dip is not sweet enough or offer a milk chocolate option.
