To say the least, not impressed. I made a last minute appointment with pearl, I was genuinely shocked to hear that I could get a same day appointment but it was probably because on maps it said they were closed. But anyway. I called and asked about a ml of Juvederm and of course, some places can't be direct about pricing, she said the nurse will discus the pricing when I meet her. The question she did answer, "is it more than $700" and she laughed and said "less, we have very competitive prices" I asked about using my brilliant distinction gift cards I bought, she said I could, do cool I went! And I understand that there are people out there who say price shouldn't be a factor because of quality of work.... hello, do you see that we are in Arizona, there is so much talent out there, just because someone is charging you an arm and a leg doesn't mean they are the best. Anyways, I got there, wore a mask, got my temp taken, was taken to a room and waited for a bit because I think she was the only injector there and she was finishing up with a client. When she walked in she was friendly, but kind of in a rush. She gave me paper work to fill out and then said like "I'm going to grab the Juvederm" she didn't even ask me what I wanted to be injected, so I said "well I want the Juvederm ultra plus xc" and then she realized... hmmm hello, you kind of never even asked what I wanted lol. Then she explained what she would recommend, I agreed with her. I got Juvederm ultra... the plus should probably go in the cheeks. Then after that she's like ok, I'm going to grab that and then I was like wait, can we talk about price, and we started talking about how there was a deal for $100 off the syringes and with the deal it would be the same price to get half syringe (I told her I did that in the past) and she said it's 495, and I said, so it's $395 with the $100 off and she said yes. So I was happy because I had $400 in brilliant distinctions. (Btw people are like omg $395... impossible... hmm no the med spa down the street from them in old town was running the same deal, I was going to pay $395, but I unfortunately missed my appointment and that is why I made this last minute appointment with pearl) I am a talkative person, I like when I go to med spas and the nurses take an interest in their patients. Maybe that's just me. But my injector, fresh nurse practitioner, really never asked me anything. I asked her questions about her, maybe she was annoyed (because I was asking about her day, school, injecting etc) but am I crazy to try to possibly build a relationship and come back to feel comfortable, and no like "omg I hope she doesn't mess up" The other possible factor in this situation is that I went in at like 5. So maybe last app. Dinner, family plans?and I'm sure she wanted to get out of her shield that she has to wear all day. Any who, I really liked her a lot in the beginning, then when she started injecting me my feelings changed. she basically did my whole top lip, and I asked how much we had left and we had .8ml, and I was like "wow we have a ways to go" Then she turned around to the counter top and started doing something, she was blocking my view, and I was like "what are you doing?" And she said she takes takes off the needle and replaces it with a new needle so it stays sharp. I have NEVER heard of that, but YES! the sharper the needle the easier the in! I didn't like she wasn't talking to me much. What I didn't like is I thought she was up to something lol. So maybe next time, just talk through what you're doing‍ Don't leave me guessing. She injected my bottom lip a bit and she kept putting the syringe behind me, even though I was asking how much we have left like every time, but she would just put it behind me and say "we're almost done" like I'm not asking because I want it to be over, I'm asking because I want to know how much you're injecting and what we have left. So I didn't like that. When we finished, I had to wait a little bit because someone was at the desk. So I asked her for an ice pack, she ran and grabbed me a baggie of ice. This is not a scare review, we all have our own experience. We have all been to a restaurant and got bad service, doesn't particularly means your server is bad. Maybe he or she was having an off day. And maybe that was my experience, the off day. read more

I never leave reviews but this time I feel compelled. I am thoroughly impressed with Pearl MedSpa. From the moment I walked in I was greeted warmly and offered a drink. I didn't have to wait at all before being escorted into the consultation room. I went over many different treatment options and had a lot of questions. Kennedy, a nurse injector, was extremely knowledgable and honest about things such as expectations and discomfort levels associated with each procedure. I never felt the least bit of pressure to purchase anything, she simply explained everything thoroughly and patiently. I live pretty far away and wanted to see if she could do a couple of things while I was there. With a smile, she was able to adjust her schedule to accommodate me. One of the treatments I had was pretty uncomfortable at times and she was very reassuring, comforting and encouraging. She is also a fantastic injector, I love what she did. The owner did seem apologetic for the experience I had with one of his employees and reached out to me after he read the review and heard what happened. He did what he could to make the situation back better for me. At the end, I did get my money back to the exact dollar was redeemed from me so I was satisfied there. As far as the experience I had with Stacy, that is just again, nearly unreal and nothing was done to make that better but I dont know if there is much to do since I would obviously not want to go back to the spa. I have been going here for a while now. I live about 30mins away, but the people here are worth the drive. I have loved loved loved their injector, April. I literally won't let anyone else in the entire esthetic business touch my face but her. She knows what's she's doing and talks you through the whole process. She is not heavy handed at all and would never make you look like some of those plasticky/overly injected jobs out there (lol especially in Scottsdale!) Am I at a medspa or a dirty used car lot? More Botox? No. Lasers? No. Facials? No. Over priced Membership package? NO. Syringes of Botox? N-O. More Botox?!?! Whoa. Are you serious?! Should have walked out then. Shady. Outdoor sign says Botox $9/unit. Tried to charge me $14/unit. #baitandswitch Unethical. Complained to owner, she said staff would reach out and apologize. No call. Follow up. Follow up. I get it, you got my money and I'm never stepping foot in that hell hole again, so I don't matter. I'm disappointed that I cannot leave less than one star but what's worse than that is this Med Spa remains in business. I've had Botox several times over the past 10 years and have never experienced such an unprofessional business such as this one. I'm from CA where I typically go to Ablon Institute in Manhattan Beach which has a board certified top Dermatologist. Looking for a quick few shots I thought I'd try a Med Spa. What a mistake! Typically the shots take affect immediately, or at least within 24 hrs. This criminal business told me to wait 10 days when I complained that only half of my forehead saw results. I had no other option except to wait the ridiculous 10 days - still no results on half my forehead. I look like a clown now. I called after the 10 days to arrange a correction and they refused. Has anyone ever heard of that? It's customary to do a minor follow up if they miss a spot but this place doesn't follow simple protocol. The person who did the procedure said she would have the owner call me back, she never called. Repeated phone calls failed to get a response, they didn't even want to see the issue. The owner is a true crook, at best. Surprisingly the $400 they stole from me was close in price to an actual Doctor's visit! Bottom line, you get what you pay for! Make sure you avoid this place and go to a board certified Dermatologist. IF YOU THINK IT'S EXPENSIVE TO HIRE A PROFESSIONAL, JUST WAIT UNTIL YOU HIRE AN AMATEUR.! By the way, notice how the 5 star glowing reviews are people who have only posted once or a few times max on Yelp. Shady postings by the owner and friends. Please help this business FAIL by not patronizing it and hopefully more people will note lose their money and become disfigured. read more

I visited Pearl Med Spa because I received a coupon for a free facial. This is located right next to The Herb Box in old town and is beautiful when you walk in. I had a late appointment, since they had to cancel my previous appointment last minute. I don't know if it was the combination of having the last appointment of the day and using a free coupon, but I was highly disappointed with my experience. The coupon said the value was $149 and the facial I received wasn't even worth $30. It was barely 30 minutes, with no steam (which I like), and nothing really special to write about. The overall experience here was awkward and not like facials I've had in the past. The room felt sterile and was more like a doctors office than a "spa" Needless to say, I won't be returning, nor would I recommend to any friends. I'm so sorry I went there. I took a family member there to get Kybella. They talked her into "something better". While I was there I asked them about laser treatments for my neck and décolletage. They talked me into "something better" because gosh it would be the answer for me. I dropped 5k and got minimal results. I am not a stranger to getting treatments, infact the place where I usually go told me to get laser treatment in those areas... which I wanted in the first place.
