There are some people who should not go into business or represent the business as they have horrible customer service. The short thing behind the desk who accepts payments is one of them. This woman is not only rude, she is a liar. I don't know where you learned your customer service skills, but you should go back and have them assist you as you failed..horribly. If I could give the salon less than one star, I would. Here's what happened: I was at the shop getting a pedicure today. The technician who does my pedicure is really good. I really like her work. The pedicure that I received was $57.00. When I went to pay my bill I was concerned because my bill was $74.00. I asked her to please explain that to me. Well it seems as if the nail technician had put the quick dry top coat on my nails. That itself was $10.00. The other $5.00 was for a french. Where the remaining amount came in is beyond me. When I questioned the little short thing at the front desk, she told me that "I need to pay attention" to which I responded "I pay attention. She said it again. I left the shop as there were people at the front desk and I didn't want to make a scene. So, I called when I got in my car. I told her that I didn't like the way in which she spoke to me. In essence she called me a liar and screamed how are they supposed to make a living? Here's a novel thought: Of the $57.00 that I paid the shop, share more of it with your workers, then their financial woes would be less!!!!! We went back and forth, where I woul hang up and she would call back and then I would call back. She did offer to refund the $10.00 I was charged. (After my nails were done I sat there for 15 minutes to make sure they were dry. Wouldn't have sat there for an additional 15 minutes if I agreed to the quick dry.) Lady, there's a nail shop on every block. Be careful how you treat your customers. Money talks. I told her that I was passed that -- what I wasn't passed in the way she spoke to me. She never apologized. She accused me of being rude for questioning the $10.00 charge. You/ve been warned. read more

I've been coming to Pearl Nails for 3+ years. I always see Yuka. My nails have never looked better and the dip manicure from her easily lasts 3 weeks. They grow out well before the polish needs changed. While I really appreciate Yuka, everyone here is so friendly and kind. read more

Super clean! They do a great job but sometimes that means your appointment will take a long time. If you have time to spare, that's fine (and is worth it), but it's not a place to go if you're in a rush. Most of the time I have been really happy with my nails after I am here, and no chip almost always lasts a whole month. I have been here many times. The service here is horrible and the people are INCREDIBLY rude to poc. Completely deceive customers with their prices. I've looked at many other reviews on their other locations from yelp and google and they are known to have DISCRIMINATORY BEHAVIOR towards people of color. At first, I called and they couldn't give me an estimate. Okay, fine. I went in person and they didn't know if they could do this design. Told me to wait and I was left waiting for 35 minutes without anybody updating me. One girl came early and had an appointment at 3:00pm as well. Told her to get off of the pedicure chair and sent her back into the waiting room without an explanation. Zero acknowledgement towards her and eventually she had gotten up and left. I continued to wait and another woman and her friend had walked in for her appointment. Accompanied her and her friend VERY QUICKLY. THEY DIDN'T EVEN SIT DOWN! They brought someone from the back to do the girls pedicures but had the girl from earlier waiting 30 mins. I've NEVER felt such a huge double standard based because of our skin colors! The lady told me the price for four AFTER I had asked while she painted my nails. Never told me the price UNTIL I ASKED and wouldn't respond after I asked for the price of two. They weren't planning to tell me a price until she was finished. For four, I was shocked and asked if it could be cheaper and she didn't give an answer to that as well. I politely asked her once we arrived to the front if she could ask her manager to reduce the price again after this entire hassle and the mistreatment I had felt. She started yelling NO. Disgusting treatment. Shame. on. you. If you want to over charge your customers you should at least let them know before hand. Paid my money, will not be coming back. UPDATE: You need to acknowledge frustrated customers and your response PERFECTLY shows your treatment towards customers. Thank you for calling me cheap, Pearl. $30 for nail art IS expensive. This is the first salon that I've seen DECEIVING its customers! Telling me to mind my business after seeing a customer upset and walk out of the store because she didn't receive any service is a great way to respond to your mistakes. I had been going here for years. I had a gift certificate and due to Covid, being pregnant and having a baby, I couldn't get there to spend the rest of my gift certificate. Even though it was a year past the expiration date, they still would not honor it. Most gift cards do not expire so that was really frustrating. I was going to a very large "factory" type nail salon and was looking for a change. While running errands I noticed this salon and decided to give it a try. Salon is very clean and freshly painted/decorated. Pedicure chairs seem new. I usually get a dip mani/regular pedi. I don't ask for any specific technician but have been happy with all the technicians I've had. I have been using this salon for over a year now. I like that salon is not too big or too small. Manager/Owner is very professional and always seems concerned that all customers are satisfied. Pricing is in line with other nail salons in area. Happy I made the change! read more

The only problem is that after 2 days my nail chipped and the corner broke off. This is my favorite nail salon. Not because of the place itself but because of Jason ‍‍ I had probably tried over 15 nail salons in this area and never found someone able to do a consistently good acrylic manicure with designs. I had been to Pearl before and had mixed experiences, but one day I walked in and saw another girls nails checking out at the counter. Immediately I went up to her and asked her who did them. After Jason had finished my nails I had never been so happy leaving a salon. I go to school in Virginia now but have been seeing Jason for abound a year and a half. When I'm at school I wear press-ons, it's Jason or no one. Additionally, every time I go in he remembers my name, details about my life I've told him, and even is able to tell me every set of nails he's ever done for me. If he moved salons I would go with him. His nails last me at least three weeks every time and if I show him a picture of what I want, I leave the salon with the same nails in the picture. I love him and look forward to seeing him on my breaks. If Jason's not available I go with CC she's great too! read more

I have to say, when I heard that Cici and Mai left Queens in Highland Park, I was on a mission to hunt them down. I live in Palatine and they are in Wilmette on Green Bay Road. I am just saying even if they moved downtown, I would still follow them. The location is right next store to Walker Bros. (Just think you can get your nails or toes done before or after and then get an apple pancake. The inside is spotless and i know they use sterilized instruments and they make their clients feel amazing. There are 4 different types of pedicures and each one is better than the next. My daughter gets her "dips" there and she won't go anyone else. Pearl is a family owned- small business and I hope this brings many new clients. If you were a regular with them in HP, it is really not that far!!! FYI they also do waxing!!! If you see this review, let them know you saw this. Please support small businesses!!! read more

Manicure was good. Terrible pedicure!!! Yes. My toenails are very short I keep them very short. But I've had other people even them out nicely and put the polish on nicely. This was for sure the best manicure- pedicure set/ experience I've ever had! I got a gel pedicure and I was shocked at how thorough and well done the actually pedicure experience was. I'm usually used to just getting a quick soak/ scrub followed by my toes painted but they really took their time and left me feet feeling brand new. I also got an acrylic gel set that was based on a design I had previously seen. This was my first time getting anything besides one basic color and the person who did my nails as well as multiple other workers all chipped in and really helped me to get just the right colors and designs to match the model I showed. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing and fulfilling experience. The set was a bit pricey compared to what I usually get out of state, but compared to the other spas in the area and considering the service they provide, it was worth it! read more
