At the end of the visit, he was told that he owed $168! We have never been charged for an eye exam since it's covered for one a year. That's when we found out that because he wears contacts, they charged him for an eye exam AND for a contact exam?!?! Never heard of such! We've gone to Pearle Vision and other Eye Specialists in Columbus and have NEVER been charged for two eye exams. We asked for the contact prescription, and got the same response as the lady above. They didn't really want to give it to us and wanted us to order the contacts through them. That said, they did find an issue with his eyes and the contacts that they finally found worked for him. Jury is still out on what we'll do next year. We'll go to this eye specialist and see what happens there.

Recently I brought some office glasses for repair where a hinge broke. After a while the same side broke again. I called to follow up and learned I was still under warranty. Whomever I spoke with seemed to be kind as usual. I brought the eyewear in on Monday and was immediately put off by the person behind the counter doing whatever he was doing. He spoke rather dismissively telling me he would be with me momentarily without actually looking my way. After he continued doing whatever he was doing at the computer he asked me what I was there for. After getting my name and looking me up, there was a bit of confusion as to how my name was listed. Again this in itself was not an issue for me but his attitude was stone cold I "DON'T WANT TO HELP YOU!" Once he found me he looked at my eyewear and immediately said, "OH THIS BROKE WHERE THE PLASTIC IS, THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO TO FIX THESE". No customer service, empathy nor reasonable expression from one human being to another let alone a customer. This was all I could think about. Then he said, "I could bond them but I doubt it would last a day. Sorry!" It was a very sarcastic "sorry" - more like a f&^! you 'sorry.' It was at that moment I realized i needed to get outta there before I went beyond my own personal character. I took my frames home and added a little super glue to the point of breakage. I'm glad to say its been over 48 hours now and I've worked in them for some 22 hours since Monday without a problem. The glue is sturdy and I am satisfied with my own limited 'craftsmanship.' The fact that he didn't choose to make a fix for me is one thing. I find that disappointing in itself. But the fact that this man with a nasty ass attitude spoke to me like I was a worthless waste of his time has me rethinking whether I will ever seek out their services again. To reiterate, this was my first negative experience as opposed to the many times I've been there and received friendly service. I could imagine several reasons why this could be which I won't mention. One I will mention is I had just cut my grass before driving to the store on my lunch break. Perhaps he thought I was a hobo. But again, regardless, I am still seething when I think of how this person summarily dismissed a person who takes pride in spending money with good businesses. I was taught in the first grade not to judge a book by it's cover. I would have asked this person his name. But I was so put off even now I don't care.

And, one day I was around Grove city looking for a Panera bread shop, so suddenly, it's the Eyemart Express I saw near. Then , I stopped by there and, the sale advisor, listened to me carefully and , she said that I have a full warranty and she's going to order new ones for me. I was glad. Finally, they made it and they shipped after they told me that the glasses were ready to be picked. But, I was busy in Chicago when I received the message. And I tried to reach out them and asked them to ship it for at my address in Columbus. After 24 hours, they made it. Eyemart Express is wonderful. The Rx was provided 6 months earlier. I was told to come back in 6 months so my insurance would cover the frame cost. Ask if they could repair the worn-flaws to my current pairs, that I bought there, . . . "You bought those in 2023 and the warranty is expired." Thanks for selling me glasses and frames that last 2 years. Asked of they could arrange the repair of my Oakley sunglasses I bought there? . . . "We don't deal with Oakleys anymore so 'No'". When I pointed to the sign in the store that identified "Oakleys" as a product provider the rep said, "That's not for Oakley sunglasses, sorry." Terrible products; worse service. Never going back.

We were very pleasantly surprised at the service and professionalism of the staff at Meijer's Optical. My wife didn't realize that it was the doctor himself who was checking her in. We both had full eye exams and both ordered new glasses. The exams were very thorough and professional; the dispensing staff was very helpful and the selection of lenses and frames was excellent. We were able to get appointments within a few days of calling and our glasses will be ready within 2 weeks. You can also get insurance on your glasses against breakage and scratches on the lenses. Apparently the office had some questions about me trying to make another appointment in 3 months. During the time I was waiting I was not consulted or asked any questions. I explained to the desk it was an authorized appointment and what was the problem. I offered to call the V.A but was told they were in contact with them. At that time I sat down. No further communication and at 1429 went back to the desk , no one there waited a minute, and sat back down. At 1431 I left the facility and called the community care office at the V.A. very poor communication and will not return. Was very disrespectful of the staff to this veteran.​
