I love Dr. Bains! I was disappointed by the fact that I rushed over to the clinic to pick up my glasses because my old prescription is killing me and the office was closed. Apple Maps states the office hours on Wednesdays are from 10:30 to 6:00 and their office voicemail says they're open until 6:30 on Wednesdays! Get to the office after leaving work early, just to find out the office has been closed since 5:30. (Google does have updated hours!) just didn't want anyone to have the same experience as me! read more

DO NOT GO HERE!! Worst experience ever! I took my two daughters in to get there eyes checked before school starts. The ladies at the front for what it is worth are very nice. The doctor is terrible! She was very rude during the girls' eye exams and rushed through. Then after realizing she had forgotten to measure my daughter for contacts she said "well she didn't say anything about it" and stormed off. The lady at the front ran after her and explained it was checked on the form, but the doctor refused to complete the exam. Worst experience I've had with any type of doctor ever!! The fact that she was so gruff and short with my kids makes it even more infuriating! read more

Let me first start by saying, it takes a lot for me to actually write reviews on yelp and I completely understand that during the time of COVID-19 delays are inevitable. HOWEVER... My appointment was May 8th. I have terrible eye sight + astigmatism and samples of my contacts are not usually kept on site. After my appointment I was told that they were going to order samples of the actual contact so I could made a decision based off of the actual weight/vision/comfort since i was switching brands. By Monday, July 13th I hadn't heard anything and was expecting upcoming work travel so I called and was told that they forgot to order the samples. The lady stated that they would order them immediately and that they should be in by the following Monday or Tuesday. She also stated that they would contact me when they arrived - no word. I called again today, August 11 and was told that the contacts would be another 3 weeks and that they were going to contact me when they arrived. *FINGERS CROSSED* Again, I completely understand that COVID has slowed a lot of shipping within the US. My issue is the communication, customer service and sense of urgency, or lack thereof, from this office. I'd think that after the "Oops, we forgot to order" that you'd try to correct the mistake but apparently not. They got the money for my appointment and that seems to be all that they are concerned about. Needless to say, I will not be returning or referring anyone here. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. EXPENSIVE even with insurance! Expect to shell out about $300 for a year supply of contacts. A $65 contact fitting fee for putting my own contacts in and out in their little contact room. They didn't have my contacts I use in stock, so they gave me the same brand but a lesser prescription. Contacts were supposed to be ready 5 days ago...still waiting because they are on back order. With a lesser prescription. No date estimate of when they will be ready. No offer for some money off for the inconvenience. Just terrible. I will never return here after I get my $300 contacts from them. Update: it took TWO MONTHS to get my contacts. read more

Bait and Switch! Poor customer service. They told me on the phone it was a $70 contact exam fee. After the exam they told me that the actual charge was $150. They were adamant about doubling the fee saying that we were getting charged for exam and contact fitting? The young lady at the counter just kept saying "They should have explained that on the phone and that the $150 was the charge". Be careful doing business with this company. Been coming here for various years but I have not been more disappointed in their services until today. After almost having my vacation ruined by them giving me the wrong prescription and trying to get them fixed, I keep receiving unsatisfactory service. Also, the front desk lady's are unbearable, I've been coming here for years and have never met more snarky/ bitchy assistants. The blond one that looks stoned all the time is the worst one of the bunch. Take my advice, and avoid this place all together. read more

Wish I would have read the reviews. I just needed some TV watching glasses. Nothing I wanted to spend any out of pocket money on because I have insurance that pays up to 200$ or so for frames. They had one junky model of frames that fit that price point. Screw came out after a few weeks. Cheapest frames with cheap quality. Took forever to get them in because it was around the holidays last year. From now on I'll just go to the two pair of glasses for 70$. At least that way I know I'm getting what I pay for. 70$ of junk is much better than what I paid with insurance here. read more

The first time we went to this business, I was so upset and disappointed with the service and lack of courtesy and knowledge from the staff. I told all my friends to NEVER go there and beware of how horrible they were. I called them a few months later to get the prescription for my child, (so I could go elsewhere and purchase contacts/glasses) and I spoke with ALEX. ALEX was amazing!! He seemed genuinely concerned that I was taking my business elsewhere and asked for a second chance. He had excellent customer service skills and I accepted the challenge. Our next appointment went AWESOME! He was attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful. In fact, the whole staff was. I told him in the future, we would come back only when he was working and he laughed and said, "please do!" I have had a positive experience since and am thankful that there are STILL some good customer service. These days it is hard to come by, but ALEX changed my mind and kept my business. The doctor is professional and thorough, but the entire front office staff always seems clueless and unorganized. They were dressed sloppily (faded jeans & t-shirts), didn't acknowledge when we walked in, and I honestly thought they were customers, not staff members. On a previous visit, my daughter asked what they were doing during the glaucoma test, and the assistant actually said, "I'm not really sure, we just have to do this." It took two of them to figure out how much the contact lenses would cost. When I told them I would prefer to just order them online, I had to remind them that I needed a copy of the prescription, and they both looked confused and took forever to get a copy of it. I'm really considering going somewhere else next time, which is a shame because I like doctor Bains. Her staff just lacks proper training and etiquette. read more

Went in to have new lenses put into my frames. I received a call on Wednesday to inform me that my glasses were ready for pick up. Came in Thursday afternoon. Glasses weren't ready and after about 20 minutes of waiting someone came out to inform me that they broke my frames, and since they were my own frames, Pearle Vision was not liable, but they could give me 50% off a new pair of frames. I declined (why spend more for a mistake on their part) and asked to be refunded for the lenses. I figured I could at the very least walk out without paying them to break a set of glasses. I was told that this was not possible, but they would contact the owner and get back to me by the end of the day. They did not call back. Long story short: I essentially paid $200 only to have Pearle Vision break my glasses. read more

My experience was nightmare. They were unable to make a pair of glasses that I could see out of. Then they charged my insurance company and charged me $186. So I ended up with nothing and they got my money and the insurance company money. read more

I would give this place NO STARS if that was an option. This place is only concerned about how much money they can squeeze out of your insurance and take your money. No one who works here ever knows the same information and they all give you different pricing. They are not knowledgeable about eye insurance benefits and I had to to all the questioning regarding my eye concerns. The Dr ( not Dr Baines) talks WAY to fast and I wasn't given straight or clear answers to these concerns either. The only thing I was told was I would need further testing and of course a price of 150 for even starting any additional test was mentioned. The girls that work here are young and obviously have no experience. The ONLY reason I have come back here is the selection of eyewear they have. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. They were very accommodating and I was also able to get an appointment the same afternoon I walked in. Horrible service!!! Took 2 weeks longer than they said for my glasses to be made only for a lenses to pop out one week later. Dropped them off one afternoon at 1:00 and told would be ready next morning. However they were "busy" and didn't get to them. Absolutely the worst service. Do not go here. I have been going to this office every year for the past 10 years. The actual doctors have been great. However, they must have had staff turnover because we have had ridiculously horrible service this past week. First, my daughter had an appointment we were 10 minutes late for. I acknowledge we were in the wrong for that, so they rescheduled us for later in the week saying the doctor had a "family emergency." As we were leaving, the doctor walked up to the front desk. I shook it off knowing we were wrong for being late. I received an appointment confirmation phone call on Friday stating my daughter's appointment was at 10:20 on Saturday. We arrived 10 minutes early for the appointment. The office staff rudely said the appointment was scheduled at 11:40, but they would "try to work her in." The rest of the appointment went fine. Later that day we dropped by the office to pick up my daughter's glasses prescription. The same office lady said, "the doctor isn't here to sign the prescription." I said that was fine, we would come back. We went to Target. On our way out of Target, 15 minutes later, the doctor was walking out of the store. I do not understand this customer service. Is it coming from the doctors or the staff? Either way, I am not using Pearl Vision any longer. Nor will I refer anyone else in the future. read more

First of all they could not find my appointment so i had to wait for an extra 30 minutes, and when i finally get to see the optometrist the girl walks in and tells me she found my appointment in a humorous manner..... which was not funny by any means. the eye exam went well though (she gets a star). So when this was done with this i start looking at frames and choose a pair, come to find out they are PRICE GOUGING most of the frames by 100%. i checked at a few of the manufactures web sites a and other vision centers just to confirm, and i was correct. I asked why the prices were so high and they bypassed my question by telling me my insurance would cover some of the price. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE AND NO ONE SHOULD BE RIPPED OFF BY THESE PEOPLE. i have purchased glasses here about a year ago and this was not happening. Do your homework on prices before you purchase here..... which i won't be doing business here again and i recommend you do the same. read more
