If there's an unspoken expectation that clients are supposed to arrive at 5:05 despite a confirmed 5:20 appointment, that isn't something I was made aware of and isn't my responsibility. Additionally, I'm not sure how you're able to determine what was rude or not when you weren't the one making the phone calls or interacting with me directly. Very disappointed in the Pearl Vision I have gone to for years. I scheduled an appointment at 5:20p. I arrived at my appointment at 5:30p and was told that I missed my 15 min grace period that started at 5:05p. I asked if there was a written policy regarding their grace period and was told that when I received my confirmation phone call the day before that I was told to arrive at my appointment at 5:05p to complete paperwork that I watched my daughter do in 5 min and her pre testing taking about 10 minutes. I have never heard of a grace period that starts before the actual appointment time. Might need to take that policy back to my place of employment where we give our patients a 15 minute grace period after their actual appointment time. Looking at previous reviews, this seems to be the norm for this site. Looks like my family and I will be taking our business elsewhere. read more

Stopped by this location yesterday to see if I could get an appointment for vision exam for new glasses. I was delighted when I was told there was an opening for the next day at noon. The next day I received a phone call to confirm my attendance about 2 hours before ?? Being a prompt individual that respects others time I arrived 5 minutes early. After about 2-3 minutes A tech took me back to do some quidk preliminary tests and then told me the Dr would be out shortly to get me. I sat there for an hour after which time I got up and informed the staff that I was leaving. So many questions like if they knew the Dr was tunning over why didnt they tell me that 2 hours earlier when they called me or even when I walked in?? The respect for my time was not non existent. I came in yesterday at 5:40 pm to get my son's trail pair contacts. The receptionist at the front desk went to get them and then came back and stated he has to have a fitting done. I let her know my son's glasses just broke and he's in school and needs them to see. He lack of concern was beyond me. Her response was not condescending while I was in the middle of explaining this to her I had to tell her not to do that and listen to what I was saying. I asked if there was that can be done. She stated no the doctor is here until 4: 20. I explained it would have to be this time which was 5:40pm. To try to accommodate the patient and see what other options he had was not there. First off I wanna say I like the dr there. She is nice and takes the time needed with her patients and I never feel rushed. But my problem with this place is the staff. They are unprofessional and well they literally broke my glasses after what should of been a simple adjustment. Not being trained how to do so is my guess. After my exam I had asked if they can adjust my glasses as they kept falling off my face. I spent an hour sitting there waiting when this should of been a fast fix. Not knowing what had happened until I got home and took my glasses out of case upset me. First off. Molding and framing the glasses to my face is an easy fix but instead she somehow broke the screw off one of the arms and covered it up. Not only did she break my guess frames she also put 2 scratches on my lense from the tool she was using. I asked if everything is ok and she hid the fact that she broke my frames and said the technician in back is working on them now. When she handed them back to me they didn't look right bc the screw on the right side was not even half way in. And I asked her and she said "yes they are, u can see it on the bottom" now I knew she was full of shit because the screw didn't not look like that b4 but I was tired from waiting and was late for my other appt so I left. An hour later I got home. Took glasses out of case to wear them and I put them on and I felt something fall on my face. A little piece of metal fell out from what she supposedly said was the screw that she said was screwed all the way in to the bottom. And that little piece was holding my arm on my glasses. I didn't appreciate being lied too and being spoken too like a child or person with no common sense to see what she did when I asked why the screw wasn't all the way in. Very very unprofessional and don't get me started on the blonde wearing crocs. I hate that I have to find a new dr because I liked her but if she has terrible untrained technicians who are unprofessional who ruined and damaged my glasses and then lie about it and hide it. I visited this vision center on 2/14/2020. I needed my glasses to be repaired after I fell asleep wearing them. I rolled over them and bent the arm so badly that I could barely read with the bifocal. I purchased the glasses in Orland. The optician gladly assisted me and repaired my glasses perfectly in just minutes. I am so very thankful to this vision center. I received excellent care. I will start by saying I won a couple free pairs of glasses not from Pearl. So i really needed a updated eye exam. I called a few places and Pearl in Evergreen Park was close to where I live and the best price of the 5 places I called. They were able to give me a exam within the hour that I called. The staff was helpful and did not preasure me into buying from them. The Doctor: John Szczepaniak changed my previous Prescription and it improved my vision drastically. read more

I made back to school appointments a year in advance, follow up eye exams for my children and myself. I show up on time and the two ladies in the front desk tell me only one of the three patients may be seen because the eye doctor was already seeing other patients at my appointment time. I can't believe the irresponsible staff at this place. So unprofessional to cancel appointments booked far in advance just because the staff can't properly setup appointments. The eye doctor rushed through the appointment for one of my kids and I felt horrible that I take time off work to be treated like this. Never coming back to this place again. read more

Very nice doctor and staff. We were taken for the appointment on time and weren't pressured into buying contacts while we waited to see if they were comfortable using the trial pair. My only complaint is the one male sales associate. He openly talks badly about other customers if he feels they are annoying or needy. I didn't feel very comfortable with him complaining about an older gentleman that was waiting while he was sitting right there. I'd hate to hear what he said about us after we left! read more

Do Not go to this Pearle!! Pick one that will honor a refund without charging a re-stocking fee. They kept over $70.00 of my money but if I would have went to the one in Ford City I would have not had to pay a fee to return it. It is a deceptive practice of not posting the return fee. The service I received today was great from the employees and doctor. My only issue was I decided to go check out another location just because I felt the selection for women was slim. When going to another location I truly couldn't believe the difference in prices. I understand most location are franchised, however I think prices should be fairly similar. I WILL NEVER SHOP AT PEARLE AGAIN!!! I purchased some glasses in October but I was not happy with them. I went online and did not see a return policy only a 100% guarantee. I went to Pearle and tried to find another pair but I didn't find anything I liked. Well here it goes....I finally find out what the return policy is...A 25% restocking fee is charged for a return. I was very upset. I spoke with the manager Lee and he asked me to look for more glasses but I told him I didn't find any. I did see one decent pair but I would have had to give them $40 more and I did not want to give them anymore of my money. So I had to give Pearle almost $80 for nothing since I returned the glasses that were a little over $300.00. I called another Pearle and they would have allowed me to return my glasses with no restocking fee. Btw the restocking fee is on the receipt that you get after you have already made the purchase. That practice seems deceptive and fraudulent. I will be complaing to the Attorney General next. read more

I only wish I knew the name of the person that helped me when I went into the office. However, the girl on the phone Lilliana?? was just as great. I called Pearle Vision in a panic. I was a block away getting my hair done and the screw came out of my glasses holding the lens in the frame. The girls in the hair salon said there was a Pearle Vision a block away. I called and Lilliana?? answered and said come on in. I was there in 5 minutes, and was helped and out the door in 5 minutes with fixed glasses (and cleaned too) at no charge. Dr. J took the time to explain everything to my father, about his eyes, glasses, etc. The service in the front of the store was excellent as well.
