This is a steal since the doctors you will work with before, during and after your surgery are professional, kind and most importantly extremely skilled and knowledgeable. Yes, it's true, as they mention when you go for your consultation, you will wait about 4 hours on the day of your surgery before the procedure actually occurs. After getting eye measurements, you will be placed in a room with a group of people also getting the surgery done to watch a video that explains everything you need to do to obtain successful results. Then, Dr. Burger comes out and talks through some of what the video covers and answers any other questions you have. Then you are each called one by one into the operating room. The doctor and staff are all extremely friendly and will give you a teddy bear if you need something to hold on to. The entire procedure takes less than 10 minutes and then you are on your way. Overall, this is a great place to go to for extremely affordable, grade A quality LASIK. You won't regret it!

He then told me I would receive a call the following week with a quote. The following week, I received a call from a pushy saleswoman named Kendall and was asked if I'd like to schedule surgery and which days were available. This all happened before she even gave me a quote. The whole experience turned me off, so I ended up going elsewhere for my surgery, and I would recommend you do as well.

I feel like, if I'm going to patronize a brick and mortar shop, they should have frames I can't find online. Nice staff, I will return for my eye exam, but I don't plan to buy frames here again.

(I also hoped I could be seen sooner because I was really tired.) I got there and I noticed another lady trying the door as I was looking for a parking spot. She couldn't get in. No biggie. Sometimes they can't hear the doorbell in the back rooms. The lady walked off. I circled around and parked directly in front of the door. They were closed. I called before I got out of the car because maybe they were just keeping the door locked because of COVID concerns. Answering machine. The message said their Tuesday hours were 10-6. Well why did they give me a 6pm appointment? It was the first available appointment I could get after everything reopened in Chicago. I call back today to inquire today and I get the same message, they're closed. I called several more times this morning to no avail. Now I understand that businesses are unfortunately closing after quarantine, but a courtesy call and changing the message on the voicemail would have been nice. Now I have to find another eye doctor and wait possibly another month for an appointment I usually have in February. I just happened to call again today and someone answered. Apparently they're only receiving customers on Monday. They "tried" to call and cancel all appointments due to COVID restrictions, but I made this appointment after the city was reopened. I made a new appt. for September ONLY because it's 6 months past time for my regular appointment and I don't want to search for another doctor.

What impressed me was that after…read moreconsidering my prescription and preliminary data from their tech, he just told me that I was not a candidate for laser eye surgery (because of the degree of correction needed, and related potential complications due to that). He went on to explain why and answered all my questions. Though dissappointed, I really appreciated his honesty. I had gone to another Lasik center (part of a large national chain) before seeing Dr. Bryar, and had been offered laser procedures. Potential complications, though mentioned, seemed to be down played. I came to Dr. Bryar for a second opinion. I cannot imagine going through life with complications related to an elective procedure that was performed because of inconvenience (glasses) and perhaps a bit of vanity. Thank you Dr. Bryar.

I did not receive Lasik's surgery here, however, I did go for a consult…read more I showed up for my appointment on time and was taken directly by a tech and she performed various tests on me which lasted around 15 minutes. I was then told the Dr. would be in to discuss if I could be a candidate for Lasiks or a similar procedure. I sat in the exam room for over 45 minutes. No one came in to tell me that the Dr. was running behind, in surgery or having a issue with a previous appointment. I walked out of the exam room after an hour meaning to leave. I ran into the tech, questioned her asking if I was going to see the Dr. She said, 'yes' and that she would go check. The tech came back to say the Dr. would be in in 'just a minute.' She was finishing up an appointment. I waited 6 more minutes and then left. I was in that office from 11:30am to 1pm and was seen for 15 minutes of that time. As this was a consultation for an elective surgery on a very necessary part of my anatomy and paying out of pocket for this delicate procedure, my intuition told me to bail. If a practice is overbooking their physicians that they cannot stay on time and do not have staff to update patients and potential patients on a physicians eta. If a Dr. is running behind on consults for over an hour and the practice is double/triple booking consults and patients, odds are that physician is WAY overworked and probably has no stamina, focus and wakefulness to be touching your eyes with a laser or scalpel. Go elsewhere. Definitely.
