Ross Acupuncture is an exceptional find. Jennifer Ross is a truly gifted, compassionate and approachable practitioner who runs a seamless, professional practice. I spent a frustrating year trying everything to rehab painful plantar fasciitis, but was stuck at 25% healed. After finding Ross Acupuncture my recovery finally kicked into high gear. It took a few weeks of treatments, but then my foot improved rapidly, going from 25% - 90% in a couple months (and considering that I was stuck at 25% for a year, it was a massive shift). Jen is very talented; her needle placement works wonders. When she added a needle at the top of my head to help with stress, I was completely blissed out for the rest of the day. (Honestly, that one needle alone was worth the entire visit!) The office space is serene and inviting. Parking is plentiful. As an athlete and fitness/yoga professional for almost 30 years, acupuncture has always played a crucial role in my recovery, injury prevention, and treatment. I found Ross Acupuncture a little over a year ago, and it has been an absolute game-changer!! Jen is incredibly knowledgeable and has helped relieve countless nagging and acute issues. I have hypermobile ligaments/tendons, flat feet, and I put in between 10-20+ hours of training a week, so I put a TON of wear and tear (and stress!) on my body. I am also super prone to things like plantar fasciitis as a flat-footed runner and Jen has been a lifesaver on more than many occasions when things flare up. She has also been able to get to the root of some of the injuries I've had off and on for a long time. Full transparency: treatment may not be the most comfortable all the time. Sometimes you might not feel it, sometimes it may be rather intense -- especially if you're coming for injury/pain. But, if you're an athlete (or even just active) and want to return to training, it is beyond worth it when your issues are resolved within just a few treatments (or sometimes in one session!) She often does stim on the needles which is my absolute favorite part. I find that this method to yield the best results for me. Tbh, I can't say enough good things about this clinic or Jen! I've seen Jennifer and Joseph for about a year to work on a back injury that my doctor wanted me to get a steroid shot for. Jennifer said "let us be your steroid shot" and she and Joseph truly fixed me. I couldn't walk or stand or sit for more than an hour without pain, and now I'm back at the gym, able to hike, and able to work on my feet or seated for long hours without pain. Every time I do experience a flare up, they fix. me. Any time I say that I think this level of pain is the best we can do, Jennifer sees it as a challenge to push past the plateau. What is wrong with me? How have I not left a review for Jen when I've sent her contact to so many friends??!? Jennifer Ross is refreshingly candid about what her form of acupuncture can and can't do- and she's also terrifically funny, kind, and effective at treating my physical stuff. I was looking for dry needling when I reinjured a surgically repaired high-hamstring tendon and related (long story) neck issue. In California it's tricky to find. My ortho (thanks, Doc Will Workman!) knew I was looking, and asked around for me, and I wound up in Jen's care. Dry needling, for me, was a breakthrough treatment that restored a ton of mobility. Now that I no longer live in the bay, I BADLY miss Jen. We worked together to figure out the best approach for my treatment, and Jen listened intently to my reports of what I'd experienced after the previous visit and tailored accordingly, eventually able to get me back running at high volume. More than a year later, I'm an ocean away. I just booked a mainland visit, and after confirming my flight immediately logged on to the Ross Accupuncture website to schedule 2 visits. She is that good. I'm home for less than a week and she's my 2nd priority after visiting my 90 year old grandma. NOT KIDDING. Office is co-located with related practitioners in a bright, clean space. I highly, highly recommend Ross Acupuncture. I had headaches on the right side of my head for over 3 years, ranging in severity from debilitating to mildly annoying. I saw two other practitioners for the problem, and one of them correctly observed the pain was coming from TMJ issues in my jaw. However, I also have knots and trigger points in the trap and right shoulder. Jennifer immediately identified the blockages in my jaw, neck and shoulder and went to work opening everything up. After 7 sessions, I would say I have a 80-90% reduction symptoms, which after 3 years, is amazing. I will continue to go less frequently now in order to work on the small bit of tension that remains. After reading Dr. Ross' reviews, I went to go see her for plantar fasciitis (a result of shelter-in-place living room exercise stupidity.) I saw Dr. Ross after seeing an orthopedist, who told me to stretch, gave me orthodics, and told me to stay off it for 4 weeks. My mental health was far too fragile (not having left the house for 4.5 months) not to do some sort of cardio...enter Dr. Ross. I am much more of a traditional medicine person (better living through chemistry & all that), but Dr. Ross is AMAZING. After 1 visit, my foot was about 50% better & after 2 visits, I'm doing Latin cardio classes (zoomba?) again. It is at least 80% back to normal. For those of you unfamiliar with Integrative Orthopedic Acupuncture (or sports medicine acupuncture as my spouse calls it), it's acupuncture with electricity like you'd get from a TENS unit at a physical therapist's office. While not exactly comfortable, it isn't painful and it WORKS. I'm totally a convert. I always leave her office totally relaxed, even while COVID cases continue to climb. It may be reductive, but I'm going to say it. Jennifer Ross is MAGIC. I think I'd be curled into a ball in the closet if she hadn't fixed my foot & given me back my endorphin fix. I had a cupping session with Jen and it was amazing new experience. Booking is super easy! There are many parking spots in front of the building. Jen welcomed me and explained me what is going to happen for the session. As a first timer, I was glad that she walked me through the process and she made sure I understood the cupping procedure. I am embarrassed it has taken me a few weeks to write this review. I saw Janet Dreyer at Ross Acupuncture after I took a pretty brutal fall snowboarding. The kind of fall where you hear your shoulder pop and you get the wind knocked out of you. Janet was incredibly thorough with her assessment. She performed muscle testing and activation tests to target the precise injured muscles and then treated accordingly. All I can say is WOW, Janet is hands down the best needler I have ever been to. She is incredibly gentle and the needle insertion was painless. She used microstim technique and cupping in my treatment and I have to say, by the next day my range of motion was GREATLY improved. I highly recommend Janet. She has a very kind bedside manner and I felt like I was listened to and my concerns were fully addressed. I am back at my workouts like nothing happened. Jennifer did a sinew treatment for my strained hamstring, and I am amazed at how well it worked. I work as a personal trainer, and usually this type of injury takes at least a week to heal. After one treatment it was gone. Right away I could move it without pain, and the next day it was no longer tender to the touch. Although, I originally went for back and joint pain I could also count on her to attend to seasonal allergies, a cold, or other ailments and she was able to treat me and prescribe me herbs. Jen is so great, you guys. I am a 35 year old woman who gets acupuncture once a week to complement western medical treatments for a women's condition - this may ring a bell for some of you, ha, but I'm not putting it out there on Yelp! Jen's regimen includes needle placement, herbal medication, cupping, and helpful dietary tips. She is an expert in all of those modes of treatment. I feel confident about that claim because she is perfectly happy to field my many (sometimes admittedly silly) questions with detailed, knowledgable responses. And since starting acupuncture my condition has improved in ways that I did not think were possible - I have no doubt Jen's skills are the reason. Plus, Jen is just a lovely person. Feeling like your body is broken in some way can be crazy stressful, and I feel pretty lucky to have found help from someone that makes me feel comfortable. Jen will listen to you, remember details, and put you at ease. Although she is very professional, acupuncture sessions with Jen feel like I'm just hanging out with a buddy - one that is going to stick me several times with sharp objects - but a buddy nonetheless. She makes me laugh while making me healthier - I like that. The time I've spent dealing with this medical crap has not been the most fun of my life - but Jen has been a really bright spot. This woman saved me last week! I woke up with a stiff neck and debilitating pain that wouldn't go away for a week. She generously found time in her schedule to treat me, and it was incredible. I just want to start off by saying that Jennifer's acupuncture technique was more effective than almost anything I have done in the past for pain management. Over the years, I've seen many health practitioners​ in regards to my spine condition, but Jennifer's technique stood out probably the most. From arriving, I had extreme discomfort to where my back was hurting so bad that my muscles started to atrophy and give in. Through her treatment methods, she was actually able to go in and break up a lot of the scar tissue that I had accumulated for years. We also did some cupping, alongside decompression which further helped restore circulation and function. I have received many treatments from Jenn over the last few years for various issues, some of which were due to injuries I've had a long time ago and which I had accepted as permanent. She helped me tighten up and get rid of pain in my knee, which has had surgical reconstruction done about 10 years ago. I went from being unable to fully extend my leg and feeling aches and discomfort in my knee to being able to do fairly advanced rehab exercises like pistols without instability and discomfort. She also helped me get rid of scar tissue in my hamstring, which had a tendon taken out from it in order to reconstruct my ACL. Turns out it was preventing me from fully engaging the hamstrings and once treated, I was able to rehab and exercise my hamstrings to be as strong as my good leg. That's after 10 years of accepting that it would never get better! She also helped me relieve pain and muscle tension around my spine from lumbar spondylolisthesis. Most recently she has been treating my shoulder, which I partially dislocated about 20 years ago and never fully rehabbed, after a few treatments I already feel that my shoulder is more stable and balanced and movements that were painful before are starting to feel better. Overall, for muscle tightness and pain, joint looseness and old scar tissue Jenn has been able to do more than chiropractic, massage and physical therapy combined. Got scars? I had no idea how amazing acupuncture is for scars until recently. I've loved working with Jenn for stress and immune system stuff, but recently had her work on some new scars I sustained several months ago. I was at the end of my rope after no improvement in scar tissue from other techniques. The scars were causing edema and protruding veins as well as limited range of motion and noticeable loss of strength and stability in my foreleg & foot/ankle. I saw a huge difference after just one session--the edema went down and the stability increased in my ankle. After three sessions I am pain free and the veins have almost returned to normal. Jen has changed my life. I initially decided to make an appoint after a referral from my cousin who raved about her because my periods are absolutely terrible. In addition, I also am a highly stressed individual and experience back pain quite frequently. She's helped with all of it! Her calm, warm, and kind demeanor is refreshing. She's got me on an herbal regimen to treat my periods and it's been a game changer! I used to take 600-800 mg of ibuprofen 2-3 times a day while on my cycle but I no longer have to take any at all! I receive regular acupuncture treatments and raw herb therapy here. Jennifer Ross is my practitioner, she is exceptionally skilled, thorough and friendly. My appointments address a chronic issue as well as the occasional cold or flu-like illness. A Rheumatologist advised that I should consider surgical removal of a painful calcium deposit that I had endured for several years - Jennifer needled it, now I barely recall which thumb it was on.
