Antioxidant skin test misused to sell Nu Skin supplements (MLM)
    Portia M.

Wow, my first appointment here was WILD and so different from the other reviewers.  The first 45 minutes I was here I was placed in a room and made to watch a Dr. Oz clip about antioxidants. Then they made me take an "antioxidant skin test" associated with a notorious supplement MLM (Nu Skin). The rest of the time I was left alone, which gave me plenty of time to look up what the skin test was and how it's misused to convince people to buy supplements.  Then for about 10-15 minutes there was an intake where I was asked bunch of questions and had pictures taken. Finally for 40 minutes I received treatment. Less than half the time of my 90 minute appointment.  Honestly I was really disappointed with my visit here and won't be returning. The treatment was fine, but for the price and actual time spent I could have gone to my massage therapist and not have had to watch Dr. Oz.

Most recent treatments for MVA and I feel so much better with more flexibility after.

I started seeing Chris about 2-3 years ago after Ky left and he's AMAZING! I can see why the Golden States Warriors see him as he's nothing short of magical. I have a neuroscience background and he's been able to explain all the musculoskeletal mechanisms so I understand what's going on and am continuously intrigued. I have moved back to Boston and I still try to fit an appointment or 2 during my visits. A few months ago I had a tailbone injury and I became immediately more mobile after being treated. My partner was amazed that I no longer needed help getting up from being seated. With my luck I had a whiplash injury from getting rear ended last month, and Chris got me back to experiencing increased flexibility and mobility. I wish I could take him to Boston. I highly recommend this place, especially Chris! Thank you!!!

Do you do acupuncture electric stimulation?

Yes we do Electro-Acupuncture, with both milli-current (for muscles) and micro-current (for bones and connective tissue).

Do you guys provide on-site acupuncture service in nursing facility of the Oakland area? My father has a stroke and the family wants to find an acupuncturist who is able to go there and help him.

Hi Alfred. We're sorry to hear about your father's stroke. Yes, we've done this before and some of our practitioners may still be willing to do it, though it's been very difficult during the pandemic. And the nursing facility has to allow outside… Read more

Hi Leahla. Yes, we have helped many women over the years with pregnancy/fertility issues. Jennifer Taylor is an expert with this and she'd be more than happy to help you with it. Good luck!

Do all the practitioners here make you watch that Dr. Oz clip and take the skin antioxidant test?

We never force any patient to do anything. It's a value-added benefit that patients get to take the nutritional health measurement. And the grand majority of patients are happy that they took it, and are anxious to retest themselves two months… Read more

Hello, I was wondering if You can help me with a possible toxicity from antibiotics, specifically Ciprofloxacin?

Hello, Julie. Chinese Medicine can definitely help with toxicity issues. We do that with herbs, diet, exercise, and Acupuncture. It’s a holistic approach and so it’s multi-pronged. Please let us know if you have any other questions. OCA Clinic

Why choose Rachel?…read more Massage therapy should be a holistic experience that benefits both the mind and body. While massage helps promote relaxation and the release of endorphins, that experience can be diminished if the therapist appears disengaged or unhappy in their work. Whether you prefer conversation or silence, feeling comfortable and cared for is essential. Rachel consistently provides that experience through her warm personality, professionalism, intelligence, and genuine care for her clients. I specifically asked her to address my chronic shoulder pain, and she was able to identify and work on the muscles that were triggering my symptoms. The treatment was targeted, effective, and left me feeling significantly better. As a Doctor of Physical Therapy, I understand the importance of patient experience and quality care. It's easy to see why people appreciate Rachel's work ethic and the positive environment she creates. Good vibes overall. Thank you, Rachel!

After a single visit, on coming back a month later, she somehow remembered a lot about me - that I practice brazilian jiujitsu, do regular soft tissue work at home, that I have family and business in Orange County. We chatted for at most 10 total minutes during my first visit. It's exactly this type of continuity that I was looking for in finding a massage therapist to go to more regularly. Berkeley has a few great Thai massage places but therapists rarely speak English and they never seem to honor the specific therapist you book. I was looking for someone who will retain information on what I like and what my muscles need, and Rachel is exactly that kind of massage therapist.

Very welcoming, spacious and friendly I've been twice now first time was the body massage I don't think they paid attention to the body areas that I filled out on the clipboard so the second time I got the foot massage and it's basically the same thing as paying for the body massage.. Only downfall is when it comes to giving tip. They never seem satisfied, even though I did tip a good amount.

I called, they were friendly and could see me right away. Didn't ask my name because they had caller id. I arrived on time, the only one there, and waited 15 minutes. No big deal. It may have just opened for day. Explained to the front desk the areas I'd like to focus on. They said no problem. 6-10 chair beds in one dimly lit room, good ambiance. Another person came in right after me and they sat us directly next to each other until the other person requested space. Massage was good, had to request more pressure. I specifically pointed to the places I wanted focus (forearm, thumb/hand, calf, Achilles, and foot & ball of foot -- all on the left side.) (also lower neck and behind my left ear to loosen the muscle near my eustachian tube) not only do I feel the right side was given the most attention, my left calf and Achilles weren't touched at all. Lots of attention paid to the feet and between the toes, shoulders and neck were nice too, but not evenly distributed. There were also supposed to be hot stones, but I don't think that was even done when i was laying flat. All and all, maybe a good massage if you're just looking for a general feel good rub, but don't go expecting transformation or anything mind blowing.

The place was clean and simple, no fancy decor but inviting enough with dim lighting and gentle melodies playing in the background. Beware, you can hear through the walls -- cars honking outside, staff chatter (in Chinese) in the lobby and shared space with massage lounge seating, even my boyfriend's snoring in the room next to mine during our sessions. We got the combination massage (30 minutes foot/30 minutes body), and my experience was positive. Pressure wasn't consistent during the entire treatment, but for the most part it was on the deeper side and effective. The first half focused mainly on the back, plus neck, shoulders, and arms, as well as a bit of the legs. The second half, my masseur asked me to "turn over" as he left the room briefly. He meant not only to flip over to lie on my back but also to change positions so that my head would be at the foot of the bed. From there, he did a very detailed job on my legs, feet, and each individual toe, borderline painful but overall good. We paid upfront before our services, including a credit card fee (2.50 per massage). Afterward, we gave a cash tip. They have a sign at the front asking for $20 (with very friendly language), which is the typical amount we tip anyway. The staff was incredibly kind and professional, so I have no complaints.
