Well, since I don't expect to hear from them ever again, I guess I'll write a review of our…read moreexperience... My spouse and I have been working with PBS for over two years. Our child I-- is autistic and previously has had treatment through Early Intervention. Our first BCBA was T-- and... Shortly after that, BT Y-- joined the team. [Fast Forward] T-- left and BCBA M-- took their place. M-- and Y-- worked very well together, but the main problem was that since M-- was remote and was kind of just another talking head on a laptop, I-- would think it was funny to turn them off. So as helpful as M-- was, it wasn't like having someone in person (I think it's important to add that Y--... Y-- is basically able to handle any situation that comes their way. Just with our kid alone, Y-- has done such a great job. I want to write them a letter of recommendation, but...) In late September of 2022 BCBA K-- took over for M--. The former was able to meet with us and Y-- in person, and it really made a difference. I-- started to improve in everything they measured; and from my observation he improved exponentially. It seemed like every other week it was like "Well, he's mastered this and he's mastered that..." It was like trying to keep up with new things for him to learn/master. K-- and Y-- working together with our son will be the reason why he'll turn out to be the wonderful human being I know he will be (and I know they see it in him too.) It's too bad a misunderstanding led them to be removed from his life...

HORRIBLE experience. Waited over a year to get a therapist assigned to my son. When she finally…read morestarted, she showed up and was disengaged the entire time and was late. She never showed for the next appointment and didn't call/text/email to tell us she couldn't make it. We waited 7 more months for another therapist. 3 hours before he was supposed to start, I asked our case manager for his name. She gave me his first name and said "we are waiting on paperwork to see if he can start today, I'll let you know Asap." I didn't hear back so 45 minutes prior to the appointment, I checked back with our case manager. She said she "lost track of time" and would take a look to see if they had the necessary paperwork for him to start. Then she texted saying we would have to cancel for today. I wrote a very professional response detailing that due to numerous communication issues, therapists not showing up, and unreliability, we would no longer be using their company. All the case manager wrote back was, "I'll get the discharge summary started". No apology, no attempt to salvage the relationship, nothing. 2 years of time absolutely wasted. People tout all these services being available for kids with autism and yet, they're exceedingly difficult to actually access and ultimately, it's the people with autism that suffer due to the bureaucracy and lack of care on the part of this organization. If I could rate this place zero stars, I would.

My instructor taught us so much, and broke it down into lessons that made the transition so much easier that I'm not only learning Spanish, but I'm enjoying understanding the how's and the why's of the language. All classes are very small (usually no more than 8) which makes it easy to learn, grow, and laugh with each other. I never felt that I couldn't make a mistake or ask a question. The homework is minimal and doesn't usually take more than an hour a week. (Though it's good to make vocab flash cards as you go and keep practicing). Wonderful teachers, quick responces to emails and phone calls.

The classes are no larger than 8 people so you get really personal attention compared to the universities and colleges. Our class has been studying together for several months and we are now all friends and have attended foreign films together around town and we sometimes bring in snacks for celebrations or special occasions like birthdays etc. I have attended their social celebrations like Day of the Dead and Mexican Independence Day and feel like its a great little community and family at Tierra.

I'm so grateful I finally made the decision because it's made an even bigger difference than I thought possible! NWRC's team is consistent, conscientious, and detailed. He now reads above grade level and is able to experience more success in other areas of his education as a result of finally having strong reading skills. If you're on the fence, just go ahead and enroll. You absolutely will not regret it.

If you want to understand the spirit of the blade, he offers classes in the forging of knives which I found to be rewarding on many levels. He also has a great reputation for teaching children. I can imagine little more exciting and rewarding for a child than to take a class in blacksmithing with Nicholas. It would be something a child would never forget... I have taken other hands on classes (like glass blowing) where you dont get to actually do anything, but this class you are really learning and getting hands on experience. Because there were 4 of us in the class I was able to start a second knife while the others were using the sander to grind their knives. Free dental cleaning and x-rays is pretty dang awesome. Additionally, everyone is friendly and helpful, the clinic itself is clean and well appointed, and the entire process is a pleasure - at least inasmuch as having your teeth scraped by pointy metal bits can be termed pleasurable. That said, make sure you've got some serious spare time on your hands when you make your first appointment.
