Once the weather warms up, they will be able to solve the Poana problem, but I would not try playing it again until after the middle of June.

I have always believed that a golf course should uphold a standard of respect, professionalism, and fairness for all players on the course. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. During our round, my group was playing at a pace consistent with the groups ahead and behind us. At one point, the course became backed up, and as a result, we were bunched up with the group in front of us while another group was also closely behind. This is a normal occurrence on a busy day, and something that should be handled with understanding and fairness. However, an older staff member approached our group in a manner that was unnecessarily confrontational and, frankly, disrespectful. Rather than assessing the situation as a whole, he chose to single out our group, speaking to us in a tone that felt accusatory and dismissive. What makes this especially frustrating is that the group behind us was equally bunched up, yet no attention or correction was directed toward them. Being singled out in this way, despite clearly not being the root of the issue, was both unfair and embarrassing. We were doing our best to maintain pace, and there was nowhere for us to go due to the congestion ahead. Instead of being treated with basic courtesy and understanding, we were spoken to as if we were the problem. I want to be clear: I have no issue with course management ensuring pace of play. That is understandable and expected. What I do take issue with is the lack of professionalism, the selective enforcement, and the disrespectful tone used toward us. There is a right way and a wrong way to address customers, and this situation was handled the wrong way. I hope this feedback is taken seriously. No paying customer should feel disrespected or unfairly targeted while simply trying to enjoy a round of golf. But every time it says either, the tee time is unavailable or that I need to try again. Over and over and over. It's only with Tierra Verde too! All the other Arlington/DFW courses work fine. The only way I have been able to book a time is if I call at the start of the workday, but by then the tee time I wanted or even the decent times are gone. Only ones left are after 5pm, and even then, I've been charged for the full 18, but they tell me carts need to be returned by 7pm and that they'll only allow me to play 9 holes. Good course. Bad time management.

I played Riverchase Golf Club in Grand Prairie today and was surprised to see the green fee had…read moreclimbed to $80. I hadn't played there in 2-3 years, and the last time I was there it was just over $60. A price increase of more than $15 raises expectations. The clubhouse staff were efficient but not especially friendly. I'd describe the service as average. The starter was about the same. Nothing bad, but nothing that matched the premium price either. The little things also reflected a lack of attention to detail. My cart was dirty and had trash left in one of the cup holders. The sand bottle was empty, so there was no way to repair divots. I also purchased a small bucket of range balls and found five that were visibly cut and should have been pulled from circulation. I striped my opening drive right down the middle of the first fairway. While waiting for the group ahead to clear, a player from the first tee nearly hit me with their drive. We couldn't have been more than 250 yards away. That's a player issue, but it's also the kind of thing a visible starter or marshal should help prevent. The greens and most of the tee boxes were in good shape. Unfortunately, the bunkers were below average, with several consisting mostly of bare dirt and washed-out sand. A few tee boxes were also washed out. Two holes were using "temporary" tee boxes, but they were in the exact same condition as the last time I played, so they appear to have become permanent. Both were overrun with crabgrass and dallisgrass. The biggest disappointment was pace of play. I never saw a course marshal, and the round took 5 hours and 40 minutes. That's simply unacceptable, especially at an $80 price point. Overall, I'd rate the experience 5 out of 10. Riverchase is not currently an $80 golf course. At around $65, it would be a fair value. Just a few miles away, Stevens Park typically charges in the mid-$60s and is consistently in outstanding condition. At the current price, Riverchase has work to do before it offers comparable value.

Still, the course is laid out well and has plenty of interesting twists and turns. The snack shack, importantly, is centrally located and you pass it 3 times throughout the round, allowing you ample opportunity to consume $2.50 Shiner Bocks.
