My aunts did a menu tasting before the event and they said the food was great. They chose the following options: steak wedge salad, chicken florentine, and salmon and rice. However the day of the event was such a disappointment. The steaks were super inconsistent-- some of us had rare, some of us had medium rare, and I had a well done piece. What seemed strange about my steak is that it tasted...like organ meat?! I thought I was going crazy. My family tried it and they agreed something was extremely off about the taste. My cousin was struggling to cut his chicken florentine because it was so dry. The biggest offender was the salmon and rice... everyone who ordered this option received UNDERCOOKED RICE! Rice is one of the hardest things to mess up, especially if you use a rice cooker... The bread and butter that was served was dry and unmemorable. It's sad when the appetizers outshine the main dishes. The fruit plate upon seating was well presented. The Beef Wellington (A+ chef's kiss) and coconut shrimp were the saving grace of the event. The pork potstickers were just okay. We had paid drinks as an option, but I don't drink so I asked for a club soda. It came in a plastic bottle and it tasted like plastic. Outside of food, the ballroom provided us a projector. The AV team didn't seem super knowledgeable as it took 30 minutes to get the video AND audio up and going. Alberto waited on me and allowed me a comfy space to escape the cold and windy temps that my zealot hubby braved on the course. Alberto helped find me a table with easy to access to an outlet in the floor, even went down to open up the brass covers so I wouldn't have to mess with it myself. I was able to do some work and eat a delicious breakfast of French toast and the crispiest bacon a girl could ask for. One important thing to note that they are a card only establishment (no cash) for purchases. At least in the restaurant area. I spoke to a member who enjoyed a breakfast from a seat at the counter that told me that all their entrees are great and at a price point that cannot be neat and he wasn't wrong! The pro shop is well-stocked with everything you might need, and the range balls are always in great condition--fresh and consistent. What I especially appreciate is how well they maintain the grass during the texas summer heat. They clearly put in the effort to keep the hitting areas in good shape, so you get a solid, realistic playing surface every time. Highly recommend if you're looking for a great place to practice. We play golf every week at various courses around the metroplex and found the greens at Tangle Ridge to be hands-down the worst we have experienced in quite some time. The amount of Poana on the greens made putting difficult as your ball would pinball off the Poana grass. Once the weather warms up, they will be able to solve the Poana problem, but I would not try playing it again until after the middle of June.

The only downside, and I'm not sure if this is something that they can fix but it's a big problem, is that booking a tee time feels impossible. I go online to their website and book as usual. But every time it says either, the tee time is unavailable or that I need to try again. Over and over and over. It's only with Tierra Verde too! All the other Arlington/DFW courses work fine. The only way I have been able to book a time is if I call at the start of the workday, but by then the tee time I wanted or even the decent times are gone. Only ones left are after 5pm, and even then, I've been charged for the full 18, but they tell me carts need to be returned by 7pm and that they'll only allow me to play 9 holes. Good course. Bad time management.
