This is truly a great place to go whether you pick your own or buy their apples. All organic apples and cider. Typically ciders and cider donuts not a fan of, but the cider donuts are so fresh, light and tasty. Cider is not that sugary stuff you get at the store and fresh as well. We wanted to go apple picking on this beautiful fall afternoon. We decided upon Peck and barrel fruit Company. There are rules, and they are strict, and you must follow them. You're not allowed into the orchard unless you have,and pay for a bag or two. Each person has to have their own bag which, I think is a little overkill. There are two different sizes, small and large. Maybe because it was late in the season the Orchards were pretty picked over. Especially the second Orchard Way in the back that you had to walk quite a ways to get to. There were no discernible good apples there. We were very disappointed. So we went back to the first fenced in Orchard. There are tables outside and two modern farmhouse type buildings where you can get snacks by donuts. They are both adorable. They have a beautiful little walkway up to the Orchard with a swing and a bench. We would go back. But I would probably go back earlier in the season. Nonetheless, the apples were absolutely delicious! Shadow to the employee who let us carry one small bag because of health issues. The first place that you go to to get the bags would not allow it. We love Peck and Bushel! We have gone the last two years for apple picking and both times have had good experiences. They have a beautiful orchard absolutely full of apples at all picking heights, not too crowded, and the farm store has so many delicious goodies. The employees are all friendly and helpful. I appreciate there are different varieties of apples available throughout the season. I also love that the apples are organic. The quality difference vs a grocery store is incomparable. You get what you pay for, and at $32 a peck these are absolutely worth it. The cider and apple cider donuts are an absolute must! I always pick up some of their local honey, too. We haven't tried their build your own caramel apple station but I love that they are served cut in a tray so you can easily share! Overall my experience here was subpar. I like the setting very pretty. But as I was picking apples I was picking from the wrong area and was rudely screamed at by staff. I made a mistake yes but the response was rude and I will not be coming back due to how staff handled speaking to me. I was not informed prior to picking apples that I could not pick from there. Although it's still pretty hot and humid outside; it's definitely apple picking season and Peck and Bushel is an ideal place for this outing. Their store has pre-picked apples you can buy along with an assortment of apple goodies. My favorite of course are the apple cider donuts. We decided to pick our own and made sure to try the samples before we headed out so we knew which ones we wanted to pick. The orchard is well laid out and the rows of apples are clearly marked. If you go in the next couple of weeks before it cools down; I would highly suggest bringing along the bug spray. This is a short drive outside of Milwaukee. For a peck of apples it is $28, which may seem high, but totally worth it! read more

It was a great place for family and friends. The company chose natural, organic methods of fruit production thus ensuring a healthy eating experience. Started in 2010 by husband and wife, the company now grows a great variety of apples, 25 to be very specific. We enjoyed certified-organic, freshly squeezed apple cider pressed on-site at their cider house. The experience of pick-your-own apples was something unusual and the season starts mid-to-late August and runs through mid-October. Bags of picked apples are offered for sale in the barn, but the excitement of your own-handpicked apples was fantastic. Lots of fun picking apples. The apples and the cider were very delicious. We were so excited to find a place for organic apples. But what really found is this place is dishonest. They Falsely Advertise a Full Peck for $32 but what you get is 8 - 9 lbs of apples NOT a full peck. Of course there is no way to weigh it until you get home. We did weigh (new digital food scale) both bags at 8.5 lbs and 9.07 lbs. So we were shorted a total of 9 POUNDS of apples. The sign clearly states a full peck for $32. It does not say a Full Bag for $32 or 8-10 lbs for $32. Again, as a peck clearly is defined at 12 - 14 lbs this is false advertising and ripping the customer off. Really they have thousands of trees and they are going to cheat their customers! We live about an hour and 20 mins away. So would cost more to go back in gas then just write this review to warn other people. Be very aware that if you buy the apples in the store, you WILL get ripped off at 1/4 less than what is advertised! I highly advise you insist they weigh your purchase! read more

I love this place!!! So peaceful and beautiful. I love the simplicity of just picking apples and nothing else. It is pricey but worth it to support this farm. My girls 4 and 8 had a great time. We paid $28 dollars for one bag of pick your own apples. $14 to make 2 caramel apples with choice of toppings and $8 for 1/2 gallon of apple cider. Not a fun place. You have to pre-pay $28.00 for a small bag before you enter the guarded orchard. Once you enter, your only allowed in a small restricted area. And good luck filling your $28.00 sack with the picked over leftovers. Beyond the fences are plenty of ripe beautiful apples, but not for you. Those apples are for future guests, a guard turns you away and sends you back to find what's left in the designated area. Nothing else happening here either, no corn, no jams, jellies or donuts. Just the $28.00 bag. Oh, and on the way out, a Costco-like guard will stop and inspect your bag before giving it a big sharpie x of approval. Disappointing. read more
