Contracted them for a quartz countertop. Asked for a quote for vinyl plank flooring over existing tiled kitchen floor. Came and measured for countertop and floor. Got quote of $4800 for standard grade vinyl plank installed based on 225 sq ft. When I questioned the sq ft they said the laser and computer was right. My kitchen floor is only 160sq ft. Didn't accept the quote and the deposit was put against the countertop. Counter top cut installed to my satisfaction. Got another quote from another company. Their quote was $1800 for commercial grade vinyl plank installed with a lifetime warranty based on the actual footage of 165 sq ft. Went back today to question again the inflated quote for the flooring. I spoke to the owner and his answer to me "it was my problem because I got my money back and to get out of his store." At that point he escorted me out of the store. You determine what is going on here. The only reason for the one star is Agnes and the countertop crew on an excellent job. Will not recommend Peconic for anything. All trust is gone. Joe V read more

I would highly recommend Peconic to anyone for granite. We started the process a few weeks ago and ended up going to Peconic 3 or 4 times to make sure we were getting the correct stone for our kitchen. One Saturday we went, the stone we wanted to look at was covered by another stone, so Dave said they would have that stone taken out once there was someone there to use the machines, so we could come back the next day when they were closed to look at it. It was very nice that they went out of their way to do this to make it convenient for us. The whole process from start to finish was seamless and quick. read more

Changed my order without advance notice or consent, because they only realized a mistake they had made after they started cutting the stone. Owner admitted this to us on the phone. Also installed countertops with chips. To hide the fact that they didn't notice a fissure in the stone slab, or point it out to us when we were there to decide how the stone would be cut, the owner decided to just flip over the piece that would be the island top. Three problems: 1) He didn't get our permission before making this decision; 2) the other side of the stone didn't have as interesting striations, so the change was immediately noticeable; 3) the other side didn't have a highly polished finish like the other side of the slab, so the difference in finish from the countertops was obvious. You would think if they were going to try to get away with something, they'd at least polish the stone so its finish matched the countertops. After the island top was installed, we called the owner right away. He said of the change, "that's on me" because of the fissure. The crew took the top off, which now had fast-drying glue on the side we wanted, and showed us the fissure. It was barely noticeable, and we told them we wanted that (the correct side) to be up. It was a comedy of errors after that getting them to fix their mistake. They took the island top back to their shop to supposedly remove the glue from the side we wanted, and to bevel the edge. When they brought it back, they had removed the glue from the side we wanted, but also the polished finish. We had them install it anyway as we were worried the stone could get broken with all this traveling, and there was not enough stone left from the slab to cut another island top. The owner's son then came to look at the installation, and he said the finishes did match (ha!), but that they would take the entire island (which was bolted to the concrete floor) to their shop and polish it. We knew that was A) Potentially dangerous for our island, as it could easily get damaged; B) not necessary, as there are plenty of companies that restore stone countertops in place. We gave up dealing with Peconic Kitchen & Bath, and we hired another company that specialized in stone restoration (Tri-Point Marble & Granite Restoration - amazing!) to restore the polished finish on the island. Peconic also installed the countertops with chips in them, which the stone restorer said could not be fixed without cutting out larger pieces of the stone and then patching them, but the patches would be more noticeable than the chips. We ended up taking Peconic to small claims court and won. read more

I bought my kitchen counters from this company. They are soapstone. From the moment they were installed I knew something was wrong. They looked bad and were showing marks and stains from a water glass from the day after installation, normal soapstone does that but when you oil it the marks disappear, mine persisted. I called and the owner, Dave, came to see them. He said they're fine...normal for soapstone. I have several friends with soapstone. They're countertops look amazing and are much older than mine. A few months later I finally insisted that they send someone to see what may be wrong and to fix the silicone around the sink as it had a couple of small holes. I also called a Soapstone expert. (Garden State Soapstone. Get yours from him!) Right away he asked if they used a sealer on them. Not the oil sealer that you coat them with periodically but sealer that they put on granite and marble. They had...and that was where they messed mine up. Clearly they do not do much soapstone or have not bothered to actually take the proper training or ask the right questions. So tonight, after just having my house cleaned professionally for the first time in a year, (I do it myself) for holiday company arriving tomorrow, a complete mess occurred. They sanded down my countertops to a raw state and fine dust went everywhere! A total mess. While the guys did help clean for me to have to have this happen at all is ridiculous. I asked the women that helped me several times over the course of two months if they were experts in Soapstone and if they knew the proper techniques to do it right. She assured me they do. NOT TRUE! While Peconic may be fine for quartz, granite or marble, I am completely disappointed and pissed off that they pretended to know what they were doing. They are completely wrong and if anyone there had ever taken a minute to research how to treat this beautiful natural stone; the last several months of me feeling nuts over knowing that there was something wrong and them telling me there wasn't, would not have happened. It took me a five minute phone call to get the facts. One would think they could have done the same years ago as supposed professionals. I'm curious about their other soapstone clients and wonder if they, like me, unhappily stare at their expensive counters knowing something is just not right. read more

Wonderful place, couldn't be happier with the redesign of my kitchen. They worked with me to find granite countertops I could afford; installation was efficient, cleaned everything.
