    Compression socks
    Nicolas J.

They helped me with two inner tube replacements the sizes I had weren't right so they helped me with the right size and even guided me on the sizing in case I wish to get the inner tube myself next time. I bought some compression socks as well to support this small business. Thanks for being a positive benefit for the community

That's some of the Long Beach Veterans Adminstration recumbent trike riders in action.
    Santiago B.

I went in to rent a storage space for my recumbent trike. Being a disabled veteran I figured this is great a bicycle garage right next to the main transportation hub, downtown. But this was not to be. The workers were unable to decide if my three wheeled mobility device was allowed in their facility. ( perhaps unseen frolicking was taking place when the humans were away?) So in the second largest city of Los Angeles County there is no where that I have found to park my valuable trike overnight in safety and security. Any real solutions readers?

This bike shop is close to the convention center and about 1/4 mile from the beach. They only rent cruisers with peddle brakes. No road bikes. Staff friendly and efficient. They adjusted our seats, gave us a map and off we went The bike lanes were well marked which made them easy to navigate. We followed the bike lane all the way to the Queen Mary and then onto Belmont Shores. Nice scenic ride!

Oh, wait, **Now** the app will let me call and speak to someone. 8) Call and speak to someone who (admittedly was very polite and friendly and was the best part of this experience, kudos to her) tells me to toggle bluetooth and cycle the app. 9) The customer support agent finally was able to give me an override code for the keypad on the bike. I was only able to get this code over the phone. What a clusterfuck. Shouldn't the code be available no-matter what? Maybe my phone is offline, dead, bluetooth disabled, cloud came crashing down, etc. Horrible interface. Also, the bike doesn't have any lights built in. I have used three other bikeshares that come with peddle-powered lighting. Peddled home in the dark on the sidewalk hoping I wouldn't get run and/or pulled over. Should have taken my car, won't take Zagster again. Use the powder blue bikes the City of Long Beach installed... they have lights and they work.

A Zagster customer locked a bike to a tree next to my house 3 days ago. Bike I.D. 4574. These bikes are supposed to be returned to designated Zagster stations. In my area, that would be in Playa Vista, a neighborhood about a mile down the road from us. My wife called Zagster's 24 hour customer service line listed on the bike. The recording at that line directs you to contact them via the website, which is your only contact option. She did so on Sunday. They responded by email the same day to say they would send someone ASAP to get the bike. It is now Tuesday. The bike is still there. I contacted Zagster through their website again, but as yet have received no response.

They have kept me rolling safe through Long Beach with their excellent tune‑ups, thoughtful service, and genuine kindness. As my dog aged past 15, it became harder to get him in the bike basket, I locked outdoors and it started to look a little rough and sounded squeaky. After my sweet dog Sid passed, I ended up in an accident I caused myself. It damaged my shifter and bent my fender into the wheel. It had some other damage too. The helmet I bought at The Bicycle Stand literally saved my head. That helmet cracked during the fall, but I didn't. Yay. I am emotionally attached to my bike and I didn't want to give up on it, so I brought it in. Tony (from Boston), the crew and the owners, Evan and Nicole, treated me with so much care, even when I was feeling especially embarrassed. They restored my bike so it rides as smooth as the day I bought it. The team does an excellent job and they are always on point. Their helmets have always been top quality. I feel safe every time I purchase essential gear from them. Getting back on my bike with my new helmet feels amazing. I cannot recommend The Bicycle Stand enough. Their craftsmanship, kindness, and long‑term commitment to their customers are unmatched. Thank you to the whole team for 14+ years of keeping me safe, supported, and rolling strong. They deserve 100 stars.

I came to this shop to…read morehave new brake calipers installed onto my road bike so that I can fully finish upgrading my groupset. I provided the shop with the new calipers to be installed and have new brake fluid installed as well. I left over 2ft of brake hose on each side so if there were any shortening in the line that had to be made, they could do so. Upon receiving the bike, everything looked great, it rode well, etc. Within a month all the fluid in my rear brake was gone. Further inspection found that they installed my old calipers back onto my bike. I train day in and day out and don't really have time to look for this stuff, I just need to ride my bike. So I safely assumed that the new calipers were returned to me in the bag of other old parts I had removed from the bike, unfortunately the brand new calipers were NOT returned to me. Now, I am out of a bike and have to purchase new calipers again. The reason that the old calipers will not work is due to official notice from SRAM on their compatibility chart stating these brakes WILL NOT work with new electronic shifting AXS brake levers . I informed the shop on this and their response was, "I do not believe either of us knew that the supplied levers were not compatible with your existing brakes at the time of that conversation." As a customer hearing this from a shop isn't good news to hear. So again, buyer advise and take notice of the service being done before leaving.

The listing described it as "A-" condition with only minor scuffs and a new brake cable. After he rode the bike his friend's father told him to pass on that the bike had an issue, I then fully inspected the bike and discovered the front fork/headset had significant lateral play and could visibly shift when the bike was stationary. Taking it apart, I found electrical tape had been wrapped under the top cap to act as a spacer, allowing the bolt to tighten fully while the headset itself stayed loose. The proper aluminum spacers were missing entirely. They costed us under $10 shipped for the aluminum spacers. This is a real safety issue, not a cosmetic one as a loose headset will cause premature wear and can be dangerous. We fixed it ourselves with parts from Amazon and a YouTube tutorial, so we weren't looking for a refund. I emailed the shop (addressed to Jon) explaining what we found, purely so they could catch this during inspection on future used bikes. I never received a response, and the original listing was quietly taken down shortly after. I want to be fair: many people clearly have great experiences with this shop, and I'm not saying this was intentional. But a safety issue like this should have been caught in a basic pre-sale check, and an unanswered email about a safety concern is disappointing from a shop with this kind of reputation. If you're buying a used bike here, I'd recommend inspecting the bike fully yourself before riding it. I didn't take pictures as I honestly didn't know what I was looking at. Also didn't realize that it was just black electrical tape at first.
