I went to this rental, with a very open mind, the surrey bikes are very heavy, these are advertised as electric assist, and they are NOT powerful enough. I was also VERY displeased with multiple employees, my girlfriend AND I waited our turn, and asked for help kindly. We were ignored, hurried, then rudely handed a very un -readable map. The route is NOT very obvious and the employees did not offer any assistance, it looks to me that keeping their headphones in, and making sure they look good, was more important, very much, "turn and burn" approach to rentals. read more

We had 5 adults and 2 Childs. We rented a Triple Surrey ("Suitable" for 9 adults and 2 small children) because their Double Surrey (6 adults and 2 small children) no way could fit us. Triple Surrey $55 an hour and include helmets for small children. I don't think this bike rental was worth it. The biking path was so short, we finished the entire boardwalk within 30-40mins and that included stopping and taking pictures. The bike was kinda big, so it was hard to do U Turn and riding up the curb. One of the back paddle didn't really work and the right driver's brake was all for show. Didn't work neither. read more

After all, it was a beautiful, sunny day! Cart | Fun! Comfortable! The ride was fun! Be sure you're ready to pedal, because it's what makes the cart go! Hahaha! Though I had on a long dress, I tied it up and made it work! I had always wanted to ride one of these carts! Mission accomplished!! Note: Wear cozy shoes and if you're wearing a hat, hold on tight! My cowgirl hat blew off at some point along the path, we stopped and the guys playing a game nearby rushed over to help, but I got it! Whew! Nice people! Even waved to people along the way, was super fun! Scenery | Beach scenery, boats, friendly people, also riding carts/rentals, lots of laughs & even passed by outdoor shops! My friend stayed in the cart while I quickly went shopping for about 10 minutes, & found the cutest pink bikini to go! Rental | Single Surrey is $30/Hour! Also, a great idea to set your timer to remind you of when you need to be back at the rental shop! Customer Service | Super friendly! We were given instructions on how to pedal, how to steer and the time we needed to be back! Overall | Yes! What a fun way to be a tourist for an hour and get some exercise in : D My sister had a Groupon that she needed to use and the four of us were ready to hit the beach. Driving the 4 seater wasn't too hard, a little scary with a tiny downhill to get to the beach, but we managed lol Pedals for us shorties were slightly difficult to reach, it's kinda made for a taller person. But, we just leaned forward. I have to say it was quite a workout! lol The scenery was absolutely gorgeous. We pedaled past the Queen Mary and all along the strand of Long Beach. After spending the morning at the Aquarium, we walked over to use a Groupon that my sister held onto for quite some time. Service was welcoming and they gladly accepted the Groupon. We were given a brief description on how to operate the bike and we were off. A 1 hour rental is $40 and allows you to take two routes. We started with the short scenic route with a view of the Queen Mary and the docked cruise ship. Once we returned, we took the bike path east that took us all the way along the beach towards the pier. This bike path goes far, so make sure you time your ride. Very fun! Bikes were easy to adjust and ride. However, they seemed a little "loose" when riding. My girlfriend fell down on the boardwalk and scraped up her leg. Other than that we had a really nice 12 miles, and almost 4 hour adventure. The only complaint I have is $56 rental fee seems a little steep. Definitely recommend the experience, though. read more

My friend and I got straight off our cruise, dropped our luggage at the Marriott, and walked here to rent bikes to ride along the beach until we headed to the airport for a late flight. We did 3-4 hours. It was perfect! My bike did well, though the rubber on one of the handle bars was broken and slid forward- that was annoying the whole trip. We stopped at a cute park along the route and got some cheap $2.75 ice cream. It was a ton for a steal price! How lucky! Had a great time. Service was fine. We have a fun time at Wheel fun rentals renting a single surrey! The bike path is very pretty and you can see carnival cruise/ queens Mary/ shoreline. Back and forth of the path is relaxing, we only rent it for one hour. You can stop where you want, there's some bench on the path to rest as well. Remember to bring water/ drink in case thirsty on a surrey, they have a drink holder. Price is around $30 for a single surrey (2 people), they will take your ID until you return the surrey. Parking on weekend is a little chaotic, parking fee is around $4-10 depends how long you are here. We didn't reserve the surrey bike, we just go up and they are able to give us a surrey. Bikes were clean and worked well. - There was no clear return spot for bikes. We rode up to employees sitting on other bikes and asked if we could pull the bike there. They said certainly, I walk up to grab my ID (no one is there) after waiting a couple minutes, I return to see my wife trying to untangle her bag from the bike and her coffee on the ground. They had told her she couldn't "have a second" and they needed to move it immediately, while trying to handle our toddler. Everything spilt and was offered no assistance in getting the strap unhooked. They just sat there looking at her struggle. I have the annual pass, which I highly recommend on buying if you plan on visiting here multiple times, it saves you a lot of money and pays for itself in two visits. I recently visited again on 4/3/25 and I noticed that the employees were filling the bike tires with air, so I was very happy with that. My husband and I always rent the tandem bike and when the employees brought the bike out, it looked very shiny and new, tires were very plump, and no squeaky chains either. I don't know if that was a new bike or if they had that specific one hidden in the back, but it was a huge improvement from the older looking tandems that we've rented before! Everything went good! The moment I approached the rental space, Elliot greeted me with a warm smile. He provided great customer service. I told him it's been years since I rode a bicycle and he recommended different bikes that would be easy for me to ride; he also let me test the different bike seats to see if the seats where comfortable for me. BIKE WAS BROKEN, LIGHTS DIDN'T WORK ON ONE SIDE, CAME BACK AFTER 15MIN AND REFUSED TO REFUND Y'all, this was the biggest waste of time and money. So, we did the swans across the street a few weeks back and had the best time! So, I looked around to see what else there was to do, and found this bike thing. We showed up, parked, and waited in a big line. The guy seemed cool, we paid and they didn't have change. He said when we came back, he would have our few dollars for us. He got us in a bike right away, like as soon as people are off, bam ! they're sticking new people in it and fast (I don't knock the hustle at all) . We said thank you and went on our way. We got in and noticed half of the red LED lights didn't work. . They rushed us on the bike so fast and said hi and basically hurry up. No directions/ where we can and cannot go. NOTHING! We were like what the hell lol I tried not to let the LED lights not working bother us, or the lack of customer service...but 5 mins in, we noticed the bike was like broken? It didn't pedal correctly at all. It was like, stuck? We tried to make the best of it but we honestly couldn't take it. We turned back, waited in another big line, and told them what was going on. After waiting 25 mins in another line, 15 mins riding a broken non lit up bike, we were over it. Remember the change he owed us? We waited another 20 mins for that. It was a joke. As we were waiting, we saw another couples get stuck with the broken half lit up bike we had LOL after we told the workers it didn't work they just cleaned it up and still passed it to the next couple anyways. They really didn't give a crap. After waiting all year for our change and ID, The guy working told us to just call the number on the receipt and let them know what had happened because he couldn't refund us. Oh, and that he was sorry he lost our receipt and ID but at least he found the ID. LOL!!!! So we paid for an hour rate for 10/15 mins on a broken bike, and 40 plus mins of waiting! THE WORST DATE NIGHT EVER! And to make matters worse or funnier, the couple brought back the broken bike we were in as well, LOL!! Do yourself a favor and skip this place. Wheel Fun is a discount bike rental shop located near the harbour in Downtown Long Beach. I rented a hybrid bike from them in hopes of doing a longer ride (was planning on about 50 miles). However, I cut my ride short and turned around in Bellflower, mostly because the bicycle was so uncomfortable and slow/heavy. While this shop has a lot of leisurely cruiser type bikes, including those huge 4-person monstrosities, they really don't have any options for serious riders who want to go at a quicker pace and ride a longer distance. The "hybrid" bike I used was fairly heavy, had an extremely uncomfortable seat, and was not in the best shape (the brakes were uneven and the rubber "chain" made a squeaking noise and vibration constantly). I've rented hybrid bikes from other shops in other cities, and they were all significantly better than these. I was definitely not expecting a road bike that I could do 15 or 17 miles per hour on, but even maintaining 12 miles per hour was a struggle. I've also rented the bike share bikes (from stations) in Long Beach, and there's only a very slight difference between those bikes and the ones here (and those are much cheaper). I gave Wheel Fun three stars because the checkout and checkin process was quick/easy and the staff was friendly, but they seriously need to consider getting some fitness or true hybrid bikes (such as Trek FX or Cannondale Quick) for patrons who want to do longer/faster rides. read more

3rd location I have been to, and of the 3, it's up there with Huntington Beach! It's located in the heart of Shoreline Village in Long Beach. Very similar to and reminds me of Seaport Village down in San Diego. Waterfront views with great photo opps of the Queen Mary and other vessels as you pass through. Parking can be difficult especially on weekends and other peak times, but I found a spot right away on a Saturday night. I think the cost to park in the lot is $12/hr but Wheel Fun validates so be sure to bring your ticket with you for a rate of $2 for the first 2 hrs. Service was really good. The staff was efficient with moving the line along, and they were cleaning the bikes and surreys after every use. I was glad to see that they were using what I think looked like paper towels with cleaner, unlike the Oceanside location where the girl used dirty rags to "clean" off the bikes. The bikes themselves were in great condition. Seemed very well taken care of as opposed to Oceanside's beat up ones. Though there was a long line, it moved fast and I was worried there wouldn't be a double surrey available for us by the time we got to the front. We paid and waited no more than about 5 min before one was returned (we were quoted 5 to 15 min with no guarantee). Bonus was we got one with lights, which was the whole point of doing a night ride. Great views all around but was a bit disappointed that the path wasn't that long. Maybe we missed a section?! Lol It was however, a nice leisurely bike ride that my kids enjoyed. Will have to come back again in the daytime to see the sights in broad daylight. Would like to try out more of their other locations too. We will be back again! read more

The wait in line took a bit of time on a busy summer weekend. BUT it ended up being a really good family experience. The weather was nice and the bikes were just what we needed for a good weekend mini trip. Fun experience to get the 4 person bike. Plus had a child seat right up front with a seat belt Eventually we had to put little man right in between the front seats because the sun was getting in his eyes riding back to the rental shop. Love renting their chopper, quad or cruiser for solo rides. Quite a hoot sharing a surrey with friends or family. The path to the QM and on the boardwalk toward Bayshore are clear, clean, and easy to ride. Beautiful vistas any direction one chooses. There are three eateries right off the path, one of them on the beach. Feels like the best of SoCal being on the boardwalk among other cyclists, skaters, joggers, pedestrians... It's supposed to be winter here in SoCal but that mean's temperatures are in the mid to high 70's which means when it's this nice out you go outside and ride bikes near the beach! If you get there and rent out a bike before noon, you get the second hour on the house. Prices vary depending on which bike you rent. They also have different types of bikes - Four seaters (they call them "Surrey"), six seaters, two seaters, something called a deuce coupe, and the chopper/quad sport bike. They also have electric bikes, tandem bikes, and bikes for kids. We first got the single surrey which was $28 an hour. But those are lame. I feel like they take too much effort to move forward. I wish the bike had shifting gears so you could pump for a couple of seconds and then enjoy the glide. After 10-15 minutes we went back to the rental and traded it for a chopper and a quad sport bike. I took the chopper because it's lighter (has three wheels). They refunded us $2 because of the price difference, which is why they received the 4 stars instead of 3. We couldn't move the chopper's seat lol. But it was okay because the length was fine for me. My bike squeaked like crazy when I was riding. As soon as people heard it, all eyes were on me haha. Bring your parking ticket, they validate. read more

UM hello??? THIS WAS SO MUCH FUN! It was $40 for a 6 seater. There were 5 of us and for half of us it was our first time. Yeah, it is a lot of peddling but the experience was great because my friends and I were laughing so much. We had to make sure to take stops and rest LOL We didn't ride it for the full time limit they offered. We rode it for about a little less than an hour. I would definitely do it again!
