After a fun day hiking with my pup and my bestie, we worked up quite the appetite. We searched Yelp and found Pedals & Pints Brewing Company, and I was so happy they were dog-friendly! They have a big patio, and they even sell grilled chicken, so my adventure buddy got a well-deserved treat after his hike. We shared the beer sampler, giant pretzel, hot links with grilled veggies, mac & cheese, burger, and tater tots--and everything was DELICIOUS! The meats were flavorful, the grilled veggies were a huge bonus, and those tater tots took me straight back to childhood. I even grabbed some beer to go before we left. Local brewery/pub with a great vibe. As the name implies it started as a bicyclists pub but has matured into an all encompassing sports and live music spot. They're expanding their hours to accommodate the World's Cup so they will be open for any early matches with a hearty breakfast available. The beer and ale selection is vast with all made on site. The menu has expanded as well. The Pub area is large size but it is a popular place so go early to get a spot. read more

Came in on a Friday afternoon, it wasn't that busy. There was a lot of seating and good amount of space. You can also sit outdoors but there aren't many shaded tables. Ordered the Vertigo Goggles hazy IPA and the taste wasn't all that great, had a weird after taste and didn't really fit the hazy profile. To top it off, it wasn't that cold either. Didn't get a chance to try the food, beer taste threw me off. Maybe their other beer selections are better? My bf got whatever west coast IPA they had & he said it tasted like a watered down Bud Light you let thaw out the freezer. This location came up in my social media feed and it looked delicious. I knew Pedal's & Pints had great beers and good live music but was not aware of the amazing BBQ they served. We decided to stop in after our session at Rock Steady Boxing for lunch, great decor both outside and inside, fairly quiet for a late lunch crowd but our server covered the entire floor. We wanted to try what I saw on the social media feed and our server pointed out which one it was. A mixed platter of house smoked brisket, sausage, pulled pork, chicken legs and wings, and ribs. Slices of white bread, Cole slaw, sliced onions and pickles. A trio of BBQ sauces and then a side of cowboy beans and tallow tater tots. And plenty of it, we had a filling lunch and had enough to take home for dinner all from a shared entree. If you want delicious local BBQ and a variety of craft beers this is your place. Solid spot when I'm craving BBQ. I usually get the brisket or pork ribs. Both are smoky, flavorful, and always hit the spot! They've also got a great selection of beers on draft! Service is straightforward. You order at the counter, and food comes out pretty quickly. There's plenty of seating including tables and booths with TVs around, so you can watch the game while you're there. We love the food here. Nothing is fried and I've never had a bad meal here. Tonight is no different, except the live entertainment. I mean they're up there singing their hearts out but they're just not good. They're pitchy, sometimes sharp but she's often flat. Apparently they're here every Tuesday night. This isn't my favorite place but it's decent, close by and a convenient spot for a work meetup. The drinks are good, very happy they added a sour which was delicious. The food in general is pricey and not great. It can be very inconsistent, yesterday I had a pretzel and it was great but I've had it before and it was server room temperature and a little stale. Pizza is probably their best thing but it's overpriced. Brisket I didn't enjoy at all. Chicken sandwich was ok. I'm annoyed after going yesterday because they didn't honor their Happy Hour pricing on my Kombucha and charged me strangely when I went back for another sour right before HH ended, but I didn't asked for a receipt for the second order. Kombucha is listed as $5 for HH and I was charged $8.25. I'm especially miffed because it's just a can not something on tap worth paying a premium. It's not worth the time to go back and ask for a refund but I'm not very happy about it and wish I had checked the receipt while I was there. read more

My friends and I wandered into Pedals & Pints Brewing on a Wednesday night and we ended up having a great time! Some Wednesdays apparently are trivia night and we found ourself staying for hours enjoying cold drinks, many laughs, and a little trivia pondering lol. Pedals and Pints is located in Thousand Oaks right outside of the mall parking lots off by the row of restaurants towards the back (or front depending where you're coming from). Pedals has their own close range parking spots which convenient as it keeps you away from the mall parking. This brewery is much bigger inside than I expected! They have a long wrapping bar top and lots of high top tables, booths, and long picnic style benches. On Trivia night there wasn't a table in sight. We thankfully grabbed the last three chairs at the bar which ended up being great but this spot can fill up on event nights. Staff and service were 5 stars! The bar staff are really lovely and nice. We had one gentlemen who helped us out and was very attentive and kind. He recommended me some beer options when I asked and also ensured my friend and I could place our food order on the same number ticket so our food would come out relatively close together. It was cool. Very good vibes from staff here and despite being a casual brewery they definitely put an active effort into providing good service and getting the food out quickly. Food and beers ranged 3.5-4 stars. For beer I went with a blonde and it was decent. Not necessarily super memorable but I wasn't mad at it. Everyone was content with their drinks. Food had hits and misses. I'd say skip the pork tacos. My friend didn't love them and the presentation was underwhelming, especially compared to how some of the other dishes looked. My burnt ends hit the spot and were decent. Definitely not melt in your mouth and juicy like I like my long smoked burnt ends to be but again, for a casual brewery they were pretty good. Generous portion and pairing the bbq with the cold refreshing coleslaw was the move! If I had to recommend a dish it would be my friend's hot links plate. 5/5. Pretty dang good! Large portions and the hot links were flavorful and executed well. Good seasoning and cooked perfect with some side dipping sauces. What made the hot links so good is they were placed on a bed of peppers which really gave the link a nice kick. I'd come back for this dish and give some of their other beers a try. We had a good time coming here for dinner, drinks and trivia. We all agreed we'd be back and am happy for this fun little spot in TO. read more

OK! Been to "Peddles and Pints" in Thousand Oaks five times over the last six months. Gotta say the food sucks. You might say why did you keep going there? Well first, I loved one of the beers "Pit Boss" and I liked the outdoor patio. And the other times I went with other people. I have ordered their Pizza $16.25, nothing to right home about that. Their chili dog $7.50, the same, $7.50 Really! Their street tacos two for $10.75, again way below average - Dell Taco is better. Their chicken quesadilla, my kid can throw together two flour tortillas, some not so good chicken, and some garbage tasting cheese and it doesn't cost $16.25. But today, they didn't have the one beer I like - they gave me some excuse that it's seasonal but they still have it on the menu. Second, another beer I ordered was hardly cold; this is the norm for all their beers - not good. I ordered Chips & Salsa $8.75, not bad but I can go to any Mexican restaurant and get a nice cold draft beer, and free chips and salsa. I also ordered a Chopped Brisket Burrito $17.25. It was medium size, plain dry flour tortilla, lots of not so good refried beans, a small amount of pork, and garbage tasting sorta-kinda American cheese. Baja Fresh has nothing to worry about from these guys. All and all, do your self a favor and go somewhere else. read more

It pains me to write this but it's in the best interest of management to correct issues that would otherwise make customers hesitate to return. I'll start by saying I'm not a local. I live in South Orange County, but I visit Thousand Oaks on business once every other month. I have a nice travel budget and I always look for privately owned/non chain restaurants when I travel. I was happy to find Pedals & Pints as an oasis amongst a sea of Olive Gardens, Lazy Dogs and Cheesecake Factories. My dining experience started off positively. The staff were extremely friendly. I couldn't have been treated kinder by the young lady who took my order. Another young lady who brought my food was also very pleasant and warm. I ordered a Caesar salad with pulled chicken and a side of tots. Plus a 10oz. Lager. The beer was lovely. I am no beer aficionado but it was perfect to my taste. I got the beer immediately and the salad came out very quickly once I found my seat. But then everything else went down from there. The salad was barely dressed, if it even had salad dressing on it at all. Then the tots were brought out a solid 6-8 minutes later. Unfortunately they were barely warm. It didn't occur to me at that moment to ask for ketchup or ranch. My server didn't come back to check on me and by the time I realized I should just get up and go to the bar tender/order taker to ask for it. By the time I came back to my spot, they were just plain cold. It would have been nice to have the server come back to check in. I'll caveat this review by saying it was trivia night and I came in towards the tail end of it. The servers were definitely busy with cleaning up after all the crowd as it was thinning out. I get that they were busy , and it appeared there were only 2 people serving and cleaning up. On a busy night, management might want more staff. I may try this place again, but I'll need to have a few visits to Thousand Oaks before I consider it again. read more

Food came out pretty quick and the staff was helpful, especially when deciding what beers to drink. Ended up trying the Vertigo Goggles IPA and it was pretty good. The whole place has a brewery type vibe as you would expect. Nothing new, nothing that stands out from the rest concerning the decor. There's some outdoor patio seating as well. We ordered : Build your own flights some were good and a couple we could've done without. Crispy pork belly tacos were dripping with grease a bit too much for my liking. It was lacking flavor so I added the pickled onions and coleslaw that came with another ordered and that made it 10xs better. Brisket was ok. Some parts were dry and some were good. Pedals & Pints is a really cool spot located in the Oaks Mall parking lot. The facility is really spacious with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I came here on a weekday during lunch time. To my pleasant surprise, they had a few tempting lunch specials. I went with the BBQ sandwich and a pint for $18. The pulled pork sandwich was tasty, and I really liked their house BBQ sauce. I got it with a side of tots. You can't go wrong with tots. Lastly, I washed it down with an IPA that was piney, bitter, and pretty good. I really wanted to try the double IPA, but that wasn't included in the special. The servers were friendly and very attentive. They cleared the empty glasses and dishes swiftly. The beer selection is top-tier -- hoppy, crafty, and perfectly chilled to dull the sting of confidently shouting "1998!" when the answer was clearly 2002. The food? Mostly solid across the board. The sandwiches hit the mark, the tacos do the job, and the BBQ wants to be great -- it's flavorful, but some of the portions feel more like an appetizer than a meal. The bun was perfect toasted and the pulled pork was delicious. They had a sauce on the side which was sweetish...I wish there was a spicy sauce. The tater-tots were not it for me. Personally had better and just want crispy enough. Personal cheese pizza: my little sister got this since she doesn't dable with different flavors. She said that it was okay but wasn't enough cheese. She really wanted to get the street tacos with asada but they only have it on Fridays... What we drank: Black & blue sour: let's just say she was sour lol Wildwood blonde: my mom enjoyed it Zuma: my dad loved this and said normally he doesn't like the tangerine beer but enjoyed this one. I don't usually leave reviews, but this one feels warranted. Pedals & Pints is known locally as a solid brewpub, and deservedly so--the beer is first-rate. But what's oddly underplayed is the barbecue. Whoever is running the smoker here is a serious pitmaster. Not "good for a brewpub" good--flat-out better than nearly every dedicated BBQ joint in the area, and arguably all of them. The smoked meats are dialed in: real smoke flavor, proper texture, no shortcuts, no gimmicks. This is craft BBQ in the true sense, quietly executed without shouting about it. If the owner is the one doing this, hats off. If it's a key employee, they deserve real recognition. Either way, Thousand Oaks should know: this place is operating at a much higher level than its branding lets on. Come for the beer. Absolutely come for the BBQ. A buddy was visiting from out of town and usually my wife and I typically park nearby when either going to the mall, the movies or even the restaurant next-door. So I had no idea what to expect when coming here, but was excited that they offered food and draft beer. All the draft beers we tried were incredibly delicious and the bartenders did a great job talking about each individual beer. Regardless, how silly the questions were or even joking about the names, they were wonderful to deal with throughout the entire evening. The customer service was solid all around whether it was ordering, picking up drinks and/or delivering the food. The ambience was very relaxing, and apparently we came on game night, which was very interesting to observe people playing would appeared to be complicated games while drinking beers. My complaints, lie entirely on the quality of the food and the prices. Not knowing what to get we ordered street tacos for $10, which turned out to be two street tacos that were way smaller than either one of us anticipated and felt like a tease. Then we got The Works Pizza, which didn't look entirely appetizing. Immediately we looked at one another and said, I think we ordered the wrong pizza. We wound up leaving a couple of slices behind as we figured we might as well try to order something else. We ordered the tater tots for $15, made to be like nachos called Totchos with cheddar cheese, refried beans, pulled pork, tomatoes, jalapenos, and sour cream. First off, the cheese wasn't melted, and all I tasted was refried beans and jalapeños, plus cold cheese neither one of us really got tomatoes nor any pulled pork. We actually wound up doing a double take the next day when we were talking about the food. Overall, great customer service and a wonderful place to grab drinks to spend time hanging out. However, based on the food items we order, I would definitely not recommend coming there with an appetite. Sure grab something to snack on, but definitely don't do beer and dinner here. read more
